Attention: New Yorkers
As I said way back when I will be going to New York. I will be arriving on Wednesday 21st in the early evening at JFK airport, and will be leaving for LA on Saturday in the afternoon. So I will spend 3 days in New York, though in actuality it will be more like 2 days.
Anyway, this was fgalkin's idea - if anyone feels interested in meeting up and giving me and perhaps my family a tour of your wonderful city (hehheh, I'm such a suck up) then let it be known. Otherwise we'll get lost and mugged and so on...
I'll hopefully be able to check this thread in the near future. In any case, cheers.

I hope to see someone there.

Any way you can cram me into your luggage for when you return to Ostraya? Please?
And I don't live in Noo Yawk, so I can't help you out there.

Nevermind. There was no time in any case, even if people were interested. Which they weren't.
New York is a beautiful city, filled with beautiful people. I think I understand why Americans feel so much pride in themselves. In any case, I wish I could go back.
Why don't you come down to melbourne?

I would, but going through customs is already a bloody hassle. A dog was interested in my luggage, and the guy opened it up to investigate, finding nothing of course.Zaia wrote:Any way you can cram me into your luggage for when you return to Ostraya? Please?

Oh honey, I will be as soon as I can afford to. Two friends of mine are getting married in Tassie in about a year and a half, and there's no way in hell I'm going to miss that. My hope is that I find a rich guy who wants to jet me around the world and that I can go back sooner than that, though.Stofsk wrote:Why don't you come down to melbourne?
Anyway, I'm very glad you enjoyed your trip, although I must say I'm rather disappointed that no one from NYC said anything to you about where to go, what to do, or if you wanted to get together to meet them. That's really too bad.

Actually a couple people did give me ideas on where to go, like Dalton telling me where Midtown comics was, and Evilcat telling me about the USS Intrepid museum. Both excellent places, I must say.Anyway, I'm very glad you enjoyed your trip, although I must say I'm rather disappointed that no one from NYC said anything to you about where to go, what to do, or if you wanted to get together to meet them. I agree with you completely. I had a great time when I went last october and would go back in a second. If only I wasn't still paying for it...

Sorry Stofsk, I am too busy these days.~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
