I'd say he he is. He turned down a life a luxury to go fight for what he saw as right. I know that I wouldn't have done the same had I've been in his place and I doubt that many people would.

I'm glad to see that just about everyone posting here is praising Tillman for having the cajones to do what he thought was right, especially as it entailed giving up a career far more lucrative than most people will ever have. Even if you disagree with the war (and remember, Tillman could easily have been sent to Iraq instead of Afghanistan - you don't get to pick in the army where you will go), you can still respect the man for having the courage of his convictions. He was walkin' the walk, not just talkin' the talk, and that always commands respect.

Or it should, at least. But sadly, there are some people who respect nothing. If you don't agree with them, you are a lowlife piece of shit. It is not possible simple to have a different opinion or outlook without being evil. Accoding to these people, Tillman was anything from a stupid jock who let his ignorance get him killed, to a filthy murderer who got what he deserved. Of course, this man's death is a perfect time to ask what the hell is going on in Afghanistan, if anything? Because it looks like jack shit is going on there. Karzai is the Mayor of Kabul, the Taliban is back, the Warlords do as they please, and a minor amount of Coalition troops go on patrols and get shot at.

What link is there between Osama and 9-11? No proven link.

Even if they are connected, how is Osama and Afghanistan's government or people connected? Loosely at best. The Taliban asked for evidence that Osama was responsible for 9-11 before they handed him over, and the US balked at their sensible request.

Tillman swallows the corporate media's BS whole, and gets all choked up ONLY when Americans die. What is the difference between an American and non-American life?

Is education at all connected with intelligence? There are several kinds of intelligence - is the ability to be obedient at a university always useful?

It seems Tillman lacks any kind of critical intelligence. How does slaughtering Afghani civilians help bring anyone to justice when there is no evidence linking the Saudi Arabian Osama bin Laden to 9-11? Did Tillman ever question that maybe what comes out of his tell-a-vision might not be the gospel truth?

US soldiers in Afghanistan are war criminals who have repeatedly targeted civilians, as well as killed unarmed prisoners of war in cold blood.

Karma sure is a bitch, isn't it Tillman?

Just a correction, he went into Iraq on the lead of the invasion, and was later transferred to Afghanistan. So he was in both places, serving his country

The idiots at Indy media would probobly claim that the video tape was created by the CIA for proopoganda purposes. This people are beyond any form of logic. Judging by thier arguments (they claimed that the US is conducting genocide in Afganistan) nothing could change their mind.

Oh, yeah, I figured that they would have all sorts of libelous statements about the US and their forces in Afghanistan. Honestly, though, denying a connection between bin Laden and the September 11 attacks, or between the Taliban and Al Qaeda, is to purposely distort or ignore factual evidence. It's simply ridiculous.

I went to the little impromptu memorial at Sun Devil Stadium yesterday. Pretty moving. It's a damn shame the student body here doesn't give a shit about Tillman or anything else.
