"Our processing methods are quite advanced. How about 2500 tons in turn for a single system of your choice?"
The goa'ould nearly chocked. That's enough to build a sector fleet!
"Er.......that is accetable. We have a planet in the P4X239 system we could trade you. Small indigenous population, but their quite backward. Nothing to worry about."
While the goa'ould talked, the naquida operated short-range transmitter send a heavly coded message to the shuttle, which relayed it to the homeworld. Quick, conquer the 4th planet in the P4X239 system we scouted. There's 2500 tons of pure naquida in it for us.
----------
As soon as the message was recieved, a carrier battle group with a pre-fab station was dispatched to conquer a planet in it's bronze age.
"Also, in return for the naquida, you will post a small fleet in semi-permanent defense of our homeworld, which will be subsequently producing the naquida.
I shall transmit the results of this meeting to the 13. Shipment will begin immediately."
On Halo, several factories began harvesting and processing naquida, then shipping them to Goa'uld space.

Commence Operation Doppleganger immedeatly.
++If you manage to decode the message, that's all you get. Operation Doppleganger commands the agents to start creating new symbotes and infecting as many people as possible with them. They will be subtle, but the long term goal is to make 1, maybe a full 2 percent of the population as goulds.++
Attached are the star charts and basic cultural knowledge of all the known powers. Use them well.
Should you require our services in the future, simply send a negotiator to either Sirius or Cadmus, and we will be able to meet with you to discuss ship leasing of defensive drone sales... or whatever else you might have in mind. The locations of these worlds are on the star charts you just received. This offer is not exclusive to your government. We note from your data that your worlds are home to several prominent corporations who we would also accept as our clients. A copy of this message has been sent to them as well. We look forward to doing business in the future.
"You may approach the system and dock your ships with the cluster in the asteroid belt if you wish. "Silence" has permission to approach Carulan"
Carulan
Krytos Star Empire
The "Silence" docked, launching a shuttle down to the planet below.
Boundman Allan el Sidayh approached the Krytos majordomo.
"I come bearing news to the Emperor. News of the most dire nature. Would you escort me unto his presence?"
"Let's see, It looks like the emperor is free right now. Please follow me to his throne room"
Several of the emperor's guards flanked the Floater official.
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks
Bondman el Sidayh cleared his throat, and began telling the story he had told the Ousters only a few days previously to no avail.
"Emperor. I come before you because there are no longer any Floater republics left of sufficient strength to do anything about the things I have witnessed. Our cousins, who we call Ousters, were uinwilling to help us. They sent us here, saying that you might be interested in what I have to say. Your assistance and succor to the Shiva cluster is known by all of the Floaters, and we look towards you as friends. Allow me to relate what I know."
The man began his tale, a bead of sweat flying from his brow.
"I am the elected leader and representative of the Shadow Oasis Cluster. We are a nomadic group, once of the Banere Industrial Cluster of the great Floater Republic of Mohaim in the days of the Genocide Wars. We built weapons to fight the Beijing Alliance, supplying materials vital to the war effort. We cut loose from Mohaim months before the Alliance fleets, escaping the Genocide at the cost of our Bound honor- or so my great-grandfather said to my grandfather, for he was there."
"Today, we of the Shadow Oasis Cluster move from system to system, stopping to loot a wreck or steal a few comets to process into food and water. We have spent the last year over the independent world of Flanders, a world too low-tech to mind that we inhabit their asteroid field. We send scout boats to neighboring systems, trading with the local nations. One of my scouts was in the Camaro system, an early Nuclear age system, when it recorded these images."
With that, Boundman el Sidayh presented a series of pictures- Great, pyramid-shaped warships, bombing the world below.
"I have seen ships like this before, Emperor. This is not the action of one small feifdom. There are records, information given to the great Republics a century ago in their dealings with the race of warriors known as the Fenari. The Fenari were genetically engineered soldiers. Soldiers engineered to face a threat. A threat which perverts the body and mind in the worst possible fashion!"
Boundman Allan el Sidayh held up the image- an old flat-picture, a surgeon's autopsy of a human being. It could be clearly seen, burrowed into the human's abdomen- a snake-like creature a half-meter long, clinging to the man's spinal cord. Other images followed- Armored soldiers with staff-like weapons, pyramid shaped warships. Ancient gun-cam footage played, showing a squad of Fenari soldiers gunning down a brace of armored humanoids. One of the massive wolf-men reached down with a powered guantlet, tearing the human open- revealing a twitching snake-creature burrowed into his torso.
"These images are from our archives. I'm sure your power must have similar information buried in your own records- after all, your power was strong in the days of the Republics."
"We want to get our warning into the mainstream, that the Enemy which so enraged the ancients that they engineered warrior-beasts to fight them have returned."

"We have suspected that the Krynor Empire was a front for a Goa'uld, ever since that cargo vessel emerged from hyperspace above Carulan. The ship is almos identical to those in the old records. Tell me bondsman, what do you wish us to do about this?"
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks
El Sidayh spread his hands.
"I am merely a foreman of a small band of wanderers. I can give no advice. I do not know how many ships these people have, or how many worlds they already control, or how many bodies dance on their puppet-strings. I only hope that something can be done. Some sort of intervention for the people of Camaro, so recently subjugated by these creatures, perhaps?
As for myself and my people, we will stay at Shiva for a time, until this has blown over. I've exposed myself to enough danger, supping with Ousters, to last me a lifetime."

Tacer Drealaan looked over the information, that the Krell Combine had sent him, before forwarding it to the Homeworld Senate for review; it was not his place to make any further moves until the senate had voted on a course of action.
Despite the ban imposed by the senate and the Baeloaren Warships that constantly patrolled the borders, some ships were able to slip through the “net”. One such ship was the fast transport Green Spark. A corporate cargo and personnel transport owned and operated directly by the Regal Cola Corporation. It had made the journey to the Sirius System without trouble; it poured into real space at the edge of the system and transmitted a message:
To: Krell Combine Attn: Combine Marketing
From: Baeloaren Fast Transport Green Spark
We have recieved your brochure; interested in speaking with a representative. Will maintain position at the edge of Sirius until response.
Pnarreen Rhaevnn
Regal Cola Corporate Relations Head Manager
Shuttle Green Spark, you are cleared for landing at Argo Spaceport. Trasmitting coordinates now, maintain your present course. You will be met by a Combine representative after you have cleared customs.

[Before everyone shouts "It hasn't been more then a few days!" I know, this is just my way of giving you a chance to subtly find out, you know, before things get way out of hand.]
On Ix'agal and a few other ex-Covenant worlds, Operation Doppleganger was proceeding ahead of schedule.
In the chaos, rebellion and strife after the war and occupation. Law and Order was a rarity, which, more to the point, meant a few hundred people not going to the doctor would go unnoticed.
Althoug there were no more then a few dozen goa'ould on the entire planet, they were well-equipped and well-trained enough to proceed with lightning speed.
Using guns stolen from the rioting mobs, or simply bought. They began a stragegic hit-and-run campagin against doctors offices. They would charge in, render everyone unconcous and steal the doctors files. All critical equipment would then be distroyed.
Once they had the files, they had a list of everyone who would be without medical care for at least the next few weeks. They then skimmed from that list anyone who was the center of too much attention and sent small squads of agents armed with stun-guns to incapictate them and infect them.
Total time to distroy doctors office and escape with files: 20 minutes
Total time to infect new person: 15 to 30minutes per person
With the number of goa'ould agents taking part in this process rapidly growing, it woudln't be long before the arcansits had a rather serious problem on their hands.........
The room was situated in a suburb of Covenant City, far from the riots and violence. The area had once been home to minor functionaries of the Covenant's government, those whose work was too mundane to rate a place among the temple district's palaces. It was remote from the heavily populated city, and, as such, had escaped the worst of the violence.
Risha su Miitgar, known to those around her as Rebecca Elison, sat with a dozen non-descript men and women- her cell in the Covenant's resistance. These people were largely locals- only two of them were fellow Ouster agents- who had used Risha's expertise and smuggled weapons to mount the most daring raids and whip up the most violent crowds. They were one of the elite groups of mujahdeen which actually did damage to the invaders, causing the local groups to try twice as hard. They set the standard to which the patsies and know-nothings of the less organized groups aspired.
A burly man in a simple suit a couple of years out of style stood up. He was Johnathan Pace, Risha's best subordinate among the locals. His fantacism was tempered by a cunning, knifelike mind which made him the perfect tool for planning the black operations which had made Risha's cell so successful.
"Sister Elison. Our siblings in the city are bringing in strange reports. It appears that some external power is operating in the city. They appear to be using the chaos whipped up by some of our less- calculating brethren to enact a number of... interesting attacks across the city."
He passed her a datapad.
"Here's a list of the the operations they've carried out so far. I should mention that some of the cells in the city have broken off contact with us. Frankly, I'm worried."
Risha grinned tightly. It looked as if someone else was moving in on her operation.
"Don't be, brother. God's Will prevails- as do we. I'll contact my off-planet resources. We'll solve this problem."

The small group waited outside the office, the brief sounds of chaos still coming out the door, counting off the final minute. They had been ordered not to interfere with what was going on within the planet unless a new third-party began to interfere, they had ignored the ousters but this group was an unkown, and they were attacking doctors, a needed area of infrastructure. The screaming began to die down just as the minute ended, then the point man rushed out of the nearby alleyway, and busted down the door, behind him the eleven other members of the small group burst in, spraying fire at the group of new-comers. The orders had come down to take just two of them alive, and to do with the others as they wished. The job was simple enough, the initial trio of men guarding the door had been shot in the first wave of fire, the rest of the aliens were either shot as they turned to look at the disturbence, or ignored it thinking it just as just another part of the operation and were shot. One alien, comming out of the private office of the doctor was knocked down as one team member smashed his chin with the but of his rifle, the alien, then sedated, tied and bound was dragged aside as the other alien inside the office was drug out with tranq darts sticking out of him like a porcupine. After no more then three minutes had gone by the corpses and bodies were picked up and carried out, while the remaining soldiers cut the bonds of the unconcious victims. Just as the entry way of the cloaked shuttle lowered for the team, one member stopped, pulled a candy bar wrapper out of his combat suit, tossed it onto the ground, and ran onto the transport.
Three hours later the captured prisoners were awakened and their interogation begun, but the medical results from the quick autopsies were already on their way to Earth.

The first few shots flew with precise aim, and in the flash of a orange forcefield harmlessly hit the floor. The darts fly right though, but the goa'ould symbote protects the host from the poision.
"We've been made! Run!"
The black ops agent in the front throws a flash grenade, while the agents run for the back door.
The agents allready in the back pulled out their weapons and layed down covering fire. But it was too late for the agent in the front, the sheer amout of fire overwhelmed his field. It took 4 rounds in the chest and colapsed.
As the other agents fled out the back door, the Goa'ould spit at one of the the special-ops agents.
"Death.....*hack*....before........surrender......"
Then the bomb in his pack exploded.

To counter the wave of attacks on doctors offices, the Arcane empire began placing placing armed guards at the doors, and clerics were stationed at each doctors office to cure and heal any illness.

After several days...
*STAB*
And an agent fell dead in the office. The glow from his eyes faded.
"What is this?"
"What is what?"
"Look in the wound.. something is moving."
"You ahve got to be kidding me.."
He wasnt. Writihng in the open wound and wrapped around the spinal cord was a Goa'Uld symbiote. Seargent Fwellin used a mage hand spell to lift it aout of the wound, and teleported to diviners chamber.
"Seer, could you run this creature through the archives for me?"
"But of course" the sage said.
He looked at the creature and cast a few spells over it. After several minutes he spoke
"It is a Goa'Uld symbiote. An organism that takes control over the central nervous system. You got this from a body?"
"yes, from one of the Hospital attacks."
"Sweet mystra. They are attempting to infect the entire population. Lets see where he comes from"
He cast a few more spells and delved into the mind of the writhing creature.
"Operation doppleganger... Didnt we intercept a transmission from the Krynor(sp) with that description? I think we did... " The seer checks his notes and looks over the crypography
"Yep.. that we did.. SO this is it... Inserting CNS parasites into the population. I wiould think theat they take total control over the actions of the victim"
"So what in Ao's name are we going to do?"
We will take this thing to the gnomes. They will develop a spell that will detect them. In the mean time... We will give samples of it to the gargoyles, and they will sniff out the symbiotes and kill the infected."
And it was so.
Gargoyles began sniffing within hours, tracking the Goa'uld to their bases of operation and destroying them by the droves, by the hundreds...
DAMMIT!
The goa'ould would stop their attacks in that case.
If you want to take me down fine, no objections, but at least let my people fail for some reason other then "gross stupidity", it's insulting!
Inisha Cluster
Oort Comet Cloud, Krynn System
Arcane Empire
Freeman Jef Nobunaga turned from the tri-V in disgust. He'd seen enough.
Before him, crammed into the Inisha Cluster's crowded central meeting chamber, were a hundred Floaters, representative of Inisha's sub-clusters.
"Well, Freemen? How much longer can we sit here, and watch as those who we have so long looked at as friends and fellow believers in the Peace of the Void turn their weapons on civilians?" Jef shouted. "I've seen images like this before- transmitted from Akalabeth in the days following the NBA invasion! Freedom fighters massacred! a brutal occupying soldier on every street-corner, violating minds with his brainscanners!"
A ragged cheer rang up from the assorted men and women. None of them held with what they thought of as Heavy politicing, but this was too much- there was only so much they could ignore.
"I say we kick the Arcanists off our cluster! Brothers and Sisters! TO the Academy!"
If there was one fault which ran deep in Floater culture, it was impulsiveness. The Black Alice incident, ignition point for the infamous Genocide Wars, had occured because a hotheaded independent Floater captain had ordered her fighter screen launched when threatened over a Kokand world. It was that sort of brashness which characterised much of the Unbound's dealing with Heavies, and it was that brashness which had gained them a reputation as being unpredictable.
Now, that brashness showed itself.
The Arcane mage's academy in the Inisha Cluster was on a grav-wheel- The professors and magicians who worked there were largely from the planet, unable to stay healthy in the zero-g warrens of the Cluster. The facility's mechanisms, long managed by the Floaters (after all, the Mages had no knowledge of how to operate the complex electronics and maneuvering thrusters which kept the grav-wheel functioning,) were deactivated. The wheel's inhabitants were thrown in to a panic as the false gravity disappeared, replaced with the strange sensation of weightlessness.
The Floaters stormed the facility, grabbing those wizards who they could. The most experienced escaped, teleporting back to their homeworld, but many were overwhelmed, shocked with stun-prods, and tightly bound and blinfolded by the crowds.
A message was broadcast across the system,
<<The Cluster of Inisha declares it's total independence from the Arcanists! Come, Arcanists, come to Inisha and pick up those we hold here. Take this little inconvience towards them as a token punishment for the pain you've inflicted on the people who writhe beneath your booted heel!>>
The Inishans had lived with the Mages for a long time, and knew enough to drug the captured spellcasters into submission.

"Floaters, friends, you have ben misslead. We cracked down on a world that was commiting terrorist actions against us. We freed them from a brutal theocracy, and a few fantic groups within the population have taken to bombing the hospitals we set up there, and buring the homes of innocent people who cooperated with us. We cannot afford to let that happen, and you should know that better than any of us. We will be by to pick up our students, however, you are still within our territory, and we will have to ask you to leave unless you calm down."
