Best Theme Music Ever

Post by HemlockGrey »

I think I can sum it up in three words (not counting three articles and a conjunction):

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The End of Suburbia
"If more cars are inevitable, must there not be roads for them to run on?"
-Robert Moses

"The Wire" is the best show in the history of television. Watch it today.

Two words: Star Wars.

Not only count the main theme, but also the supporting ones, like Duel of the Fates, Across the Stars, Luke and Leia, the Emperor's Theme.

Ah... sheer poetry.

The Prisoner music holds a very special place in my heart.

I'm shocked that nobody mentioned Babylon 5's theme music. Twin Peaks is great also. I also have an affection for the theme from Airwolf.

Firefly's opening theme was simply perfect.

Star Wars, easily. I have watched every single Bond movie, countless 'epics', an entire plethora of Sci-Fi, and Star Wars is the only one that I can hum from memory.

Not mentioned yet:

ST:TNG

STII

The Final Fantasy series: both the Prelude (with the harp) and the main FF theme.

The Final Fantasy IV opening theme (AKA the Red Wings' theme)

The Final Fantasy IX theme.

I don't know if it really counts as a theme, but fuck it: Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood from Kill Bill Vol1.

While its not theme-only, the Eagle's Journey of the Sorcerer is awesome as the theme of the H2G2 radioplay.
