No, you see the books are guarded by the Monacon Tenth (the single most bad ass infantry group in the Army, personally commanded by the Prince, and based from within the bunker itself) and the Skaven mages.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Ok, hold on... A bit of help please?
Alyrium, I have a quick question for you. Can you explain how you managed to get your hands on the Covenant of God ships as you claim in this OOC post? I was under the impression that the crews being fanatical, they would at least try and scuttle their ships.

thank you.

that post is found in the OOC thread, page 44.Alyrium Denryle wrote:minor question, and it really is a nitpick... but how are you getting all that naquidah through customs?
Oh well, dont expect to get anymore. It is now considered a controled susbstance and wil be scanned for.
Remember, my 6th fleet is in orbit, 2 former CoG fleets are in orbit(their hulls, my weapons and crew) and the nashtarans have fleets in orbit.
Smuggeling is bloody hard.
thank you.

It is a bit late for that, but a military tends to be disciplined and reasonable.

Erm... Jaded? There are no such serious plans on the drawing board. This is what we like to call "posturing." And if we did plan an attack and you announced it to the world like that, I would conquer you myself. Telling the enemy of your plans is the height of stupidity. Look at the fate of the Covenant of God. Do you want to share it? Because what you did is precisely why everyone took him down.Jaded Masses wrote:Given the crimes committed against The Arcane Empire, an alliance of the Psilon's by the Monacoran Navy, and the great distance between the Psilon empire and the general local of civilization, we are mobilizing our attack forces and sending them towards civilization so that in the case of hostility the Psilons can take part in any action with our brothers in arms.

No Thirdfain, you won't. Those books are in a bunker on Earth, as has been so abundantly pointed out to Alyrium.Thirdfain wrote:Bondman Jon Nobunaga smiled. "And you as well."
The Ouster warships settled in to formation around the Cluster, and the whole mass of vessels jumed to FTL speeds.

Yes, Rogue, he will. There are 3 copies of each of the books. The originals are in the bunker. There are two sets of copies now. Thirdfain has one. There is now a debate over who gets the original and who gets the copies between Straha and Aly.Rogue 9 wrote:No Thirdfain, you won't. I did. All this fuss is because the Monacorans have the books on Earth. Otherwise, why would Alyrium be trying to get the books on Earth, as opposed to from the Cluster?

Then we will raze that cluster to the void. Its that simple. All copies of the stolen material go back to the rightful owner or nobody gets them at all. All in the interests of maintaining the balance of power, as I'm certain that you with all your state-sponsored terrorism can understand.

Current Building rates
As I am certain that most players are aware the STGOD appears to be heating up and naturally, naval forces are expanding. There is nothing shocking about that process. However, what I want to try and establish is what sort of building rate is appropriate for expanding nations. Not all nations are equal, and not all nations are expanding their navies at the same rate. I will point out the naval expansions of four distinct powers within the STGOD. And the ships that they have built since the beggining of the STGOD.
Ousters
8. Cruisers
50. Escorts
Veithan Empire
5. Cruisers
50. Escorts
Arcane Empire
6. Super Caps
16. Cruisers
60. Escorts
Krytos Star Empire
7. Super Caps
5. Cruisers
55. Escorts
As you can see, some nations are cranking out super capital ships for their fleets at a relatively fast pace. If this is going to be the norm, I am certain that the more...conservative powers will make an effort to catch up soon.

it is never too late to clarify points and establish the reasoning behind force declarations. If memory serves, Lazerus got in trouble because he tried to take a ringworld from the Covenant forces and a large percentage of the defending fleet. In the end, it was decided that Covenant forces being fanatical would either fight to the death or scuttle their ships. The situation was resolved when the Ousters showed up and destroyed the powered down fleet. I expect the same Covenant ideology to apply to your forces, making the capture of two covenant fleets extremely unlikely. I would appreciate an explanation for this, as well as the reasons why you should be allowed to increase your own forces at relatively no cost. If it did not work for Lazerus, why should it work for you?Alyrium Denryle wrote:It is a bit late for that, but a military tends to be disciplined and reasonable.

Well the mind control helped.. and if you think I have not suffered any cost with that takeover....
Mind control, it only works for a few days, but it works long enough to get the ship crews off the ship.

Alyrium, you throw around the word mind control all over the place, but I do not think it means what you think it means. You would be attempting to control the minds of fanatical soldiers engaged in hostilities with you as you attacked their worlds. They would be fighting for their beliefs and their families and friends in the worlds below. That is a classic example of an increased difficulty check if we want to go down to use DnD terms. Then, not only is it increased difficulty but they can try and break free every time you told them to do something they normally would not do (again, using DnD rules). I am growing weary of your use of mind control to justify whatever ideas your mind comes up with. Mind control can be helpful, but under these circumstances I do not think it would be as helpful as you hope.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Well the mind control helped.. and if you think I have not suffered any cost with that takeover....
Furthermore, you have suffered costs due to your occupation. This would have happened wether you captured those fleets or not. Besides, I have not seen a single post from you describing any source of economic difficulty. You have been throwing money around as if it grows on trees. Your nation literally built an entire fleet including super capital ships, you are throwing 920 million credits to the Krell as if it were part of your allowance. If your nation is hurting economically, please give some indication to it. I am sure that we all would appreciate it.
edit: clarified the difficulties in the second parragraph
To be fair, I never received that money. That was only contingent on a conflict with the Rh'illorans, whcih consequently never happened. The money I received was from the Krynor who gave me that to get the carrier taskforce there in the first place. Although your points are all very well made regarding Aly's posession of the CoG fleet, and I would go so far as to say that he does NOT have any of those ships. Sorry.

The D&D rules state that it is increased difficulty of they are told to do something fundmantally agaisnt their nature, like kill their little sister. Get your facts straight.
I used mind control in THAT ONE INSTANCE, and have not used it since. And if you bothered to read my posts you would know that it only served to ease the initial shock of the invasion for a few days until we could get an infastructure going.
and I have not spend any money on mercs. Never touched them. THEY reinvested 920 billion on their ship yards.
We are a libertarian state. We dont waste money on social programs or any of that crap, almost all government spending goes into the military and into things like... portals.. and schools, police and courts.
That is IT. Our GNP is up there pretty damn high. Especially when we dont use fiat money. We use gold. Do you have any idea how in-demand actual hard currency would be? Not only that, but because the people arent taxed to death like they are in all your(relativly) socialist powers, they can start up businesses and make money hand over fist, which allows us to bring in more tax money without ever having to deficit spend or raise the percentage of taxation.

What is your economy based on? Since your technological level is that of 14th century Europe and most people outside of your empire cannot use magic, what do you export? Gold? I don't think that any nation other than yours uses gold as currency (I use predominantly electronic transaction) and I am sure as hell not on a gold standard economy. So, the government gets money how if there are no taxes? They can start business doing what and selling what again?Alyrium Denryle wrote:That is IT. Our GNP is up there pretty damn high. note: if you want to stick to DnD terms for charming people, why not stick to the range of the spell as well? Just something to consider.
