It's not a fetish, he probably just realized that an increasing number of people are being aggrivated by his polls and decided to put it there as a joke.

He went a bit excessive with polls earlier and -i think- had his ability to post polls removed, and later got it back. So he was castrated from making polls, at least.

The funniest castrate straha poll option I've seen was in Straha's University thread, in which he asked if people were going to university, and there was a poll option for "I'm going to Castrate U." Made me laugh for a good solid minute that did.

As others have said, it's not a fetish, but more of an inside joke from the early days. Straha used to do tons of polls, and it began to annoy the rest of us quite a bit, so IIRC, some people would say stuff like "you forgot to add the 'castrate Straha' option."
