This is how a virus spreads....

Near the edges of Known space, the Overseer Exploratory Force was distributing tiny capsules down to dead worlds. Inorganic lumps of rock and metal, never capable of suppotring life. Beyond where any sensible power called kip, capsules hit hard, and were torn apart from the inside by the Constructs inside, reprocessing even that metal into copies of themselves. Replicators, large tracked things with a bevvy of industrial tools, began work on increasing their numbers.

They would stop, eventually, but no one knew that. They would reach a specified limit and then change their plans. The Overseer knew many would perish. Some would be destroyed by incompetent or aggressive powers. Others would suffer inevitable system failure. Still others might be damaged in landing, or by cosmic radiation.

But probability was on it's side. Lacking any of the things the filthy organics required, the Overseer could expand at a mind-hurting rate.

The Republic of Nashtar would be open to diplomatic talks. We were about to call a diplomatic conference on Alpha Prime for the purpose of defusing this situation. We would be open to the possibility of reforming the ITA as well.

To avert such a disaster, we propose a diplomatic meeting of all concerned powers on the Alpha Prime diplomatic station in an effort to de-escalate the situation. The United Protectrates will attend these talks in the interest of peace. An Ambassador will be on Alpha Prime in 3 days.

We are also interested in reforming this ITA, we suggest that this also be discuss at Alpha Prime.

It was a week’s journey to the sol system, at first the transports would move in convoys, but later, as more escorts were completed they would eventually be able to travel alone with little fear of molestation.

Mere hours after Drealaan had sent his first communiqué he received a response:

We at the Combine have no interest in such peace talks. We do, of course, value peace, but being mercenaries we have no reason to be at such a conference. We have no policies of our own to pursue. As such, our few leaders will be attending the Glactic Ball hosted by Monacora. A lesser official will be sent to the Alpha Prime talks to keep us informed on the state of galactic events.

++I've been ordered to pick this empire up again, and, upon further thinking. Realized my situation isn't as hopeless as I thought++

Jarlaths fleet, after taking the long, long way around and escaping the persuit. Came to the planet Jarlath had dubbed Gamma Site, as a tribute to the foe that had nearly distroyed their race.

The goa'ould fleet arrived over the small, sparsly populated planet and deployed what few stations they had. The fleet took up station around it, and deployed their extra Jaffa to the planet below. Naquida mining began, abit, very very slowly, and a few conscruction ships started assempling a basic sensor net.

The Veithan delegation waited patiently for the words of the Empress. In their mind, they had chosen the path of honesty and with that path they expected a certain amount of it in return. When the Empress began to speak, it did not seem as if they were going to be disappointed. Veliam’s head bowing for a moment before he spoke for a moment, deciding that touching upon her lack of fear for telepathy was worth a minor interruption. “You are more than welcome Empress. If our nations are to grow closer, we cannot begin those first steps with deception.” There was a slight pause before he smiled as she chuckled. “There is no need for fear Empress, and I am pleased that the revelation does not disturb you.” A moment later, when the Empress began to expand on the answer the delegation had been waiting for silence dominated the Veithan delegation.

The truth as told by the Empress had been far, far more…interesting than Veithan intelligence had believed. The idea of a nation where everyone and everything was interconnected in such a fashion was alien. The Veithan Empire produced neural implants and systems that allowed for thought interfaces. However, there was nothing even close to the scale that the Grand Empire apparently operated on. The only setup even remotely comparable to what the Empress described was a Veithan naval ship. Silence dominated the delegation as thoughts were exchanged, internal thoughts and ideas shared openly between members. It was only when the Empress spoke directly to them that the delegation as a whole broke from their internal focus. Veliam Munei shaking his head for a moment, a touch of embarrassment reflected upon his cheeks. “No, it was simply not exactly what we had expected.” He smiled for a moment, his eyes sliding about their surroundings before returning to the Empress. “You are right of course, I do not believe any nation we have encountered is quite like this one, but differences are to be embraced and your system obviously works for you and yours.” It also implied a great deal, including the answer as to why Veithan intelligence had as far as he knew never bothered to try more direct methods of information gathering within Grand Empire space. If what the Empress said was accurate, and there was no reason for it not to be…then intelligence operations within the Grand Empire would be extremely difficult, indeed nearly impossible. Still, as a whole the delegation was not terribly comfortable with the idea of being linked to everyone in the Grand Empire in such a fashion. It was true that as telepaths, they were capable of linking minds but that did not occur all the time. There were boundaries between self and other, and they could not help but wonder what sort of barriers existed in a society that was as close to a singular whole as any they had ever encountered.

The Arcane Empire would be willing to participate in any and all diplomatic talks that could possibly help our nation and preserve the peace of the void.

We are also willing to negotiate on our spellbooks, and possibly open up trade in non-combat spells and magical items in order to further the spread of magic through knowns space. Such as Mystra commands.

Overseer

Analysis of intercepted transmissions suggested some form of gathering in 'Alpha Prime' system. Recommend immediate dismatchment of Exploratory Fleet at maximum speed.

Bursting from hyperspace in large formation came the Exploratory Fleet of the Overseer. 'Overkill' was an apt word. Heading the spearhead formation was the midnight-black Dreadnought, the largest vessel in the fleet. None held lifesigns or any indications of being a nice place to board. For now, they waited.

The transport made its course, within minutes it came upon a massive structure orbiting the planet, quite a site to behold. The transport docked and a docking tube extended from the side of the ship, through the airlock came came the Baeloaren Ambassador and his aids. His things would remain on the ship, the hologram projector that would later be used for the conference between the empress and the Homeworld Senate would be called for later.
A group of Gladsheim officials and security personnel came up and greeted them.
"It is important we speak with your leader, we have little time to waste." the Ambassador spoke with a sense of urgency, the Senate Meeting would begin soon, they greatly desired to speak with the Empress.

At the edge of the Nashtar System (ooc:Or whatever the system's proper name is)

The transport and its escort had arrived without incident, carrying the Baeloaren Ambassador and his aids. The ships now hung in space at the edge of the system for only a moment before transmitting a message.

They waited for them to come out of the docking tube inside the orbital stations reception area.
The security detail exchanged glances, and they were seriously unimpressed after they listened to the little speech of the ambassador.. They were not used to be talked to that way.
"I am quite sorry, but her Majesty is currently busy elsewhere, and will be so for some time. You may direct your requests to her assistant, though."

Turning her main mind focus back ont he Veithan delegation, she was once again pleased with herself. It worked perfectly so far. These Veithan seemed to be worthy. Even though they were taken a bit aback by their culture. But not so much that they were frightened.
"I see you're a bit worried, Ambassador. But believe me, we're not some mind-less collective without individual thought, though those are observed, any time. It just developed that way, and we are comfortable with it. To outsiders, it may seem drastic, or draconic, but you took it better than expected. Now, I'll leave you to your quarters, and relaxation. You will be picked up for lunch tomorrow at 11 o'clock, it that suits you. Should you have any other questions by then not answered by our system, feel free to ask them. I hope we move to more...detailed and deciding topics tomorrow."
