The thieves may have become the most heavily-armed gang in the country!

M72A2 LAWs eh? Not the most advanced AT weapons, but enough to kill Brazilian tanks if the gunner was skilled.

Why the fuck would anyone in his right mind go to Rio De Janeiro anyway? It's common knowledge that the place has been a crime-ridden shithole for a long time now (note: I'm addressing the comment in the linked article about the effects of the crime escalation on tourism).
For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little planet Cybertron.
But now, you shall witnesss ... its dismemberment!

A lot of people are into South America, especially Brazil. I'm not- I think the place is a hot, sweaty shit hole. I hate the very thought of South America.

Stay away from the crime-ridden shithole that constitutes the real Rio de Janeiro and you can have a lovely time, there are some nice resorts down there. Brazil's funny, the less you experience what the country is actually like, the more you'll enjoy it from what I've heard.

There are places in South America I'd really like to visit, but most of them are in Peru and Ecuador. My parents went there a few years back and said the trip was just amazing. Those places also weren't all that hot, the weather gets cold real fast when you go a couple of kilometers up, and about the first thing my dad had to buy was a thick woolen shirt.

Brazil, though, that can be a shitty place. A friend of mine spent several months there, and had very varied experiences, some bad and quite a few good ones.

It's advertised as being touristy and cheap, with good food. Apparently, the night life in Rio is supposed to be excellent for homosexuals, which kind of worries me because the crime rate there is so much higher than in most other cities.

MoO, forgive me- crime rate/ homosexuals nexus is ...? Homosexuals are in danger from the high crime, or just the night life is excellent too bad about the crime, or eh?

 Talk about security issues. I don't care how large the gang and how small the group of defenders, the gang should have come out of that little raid looking like swiss cheese. It's a bold move on their part, I'll give them that.

Obviously the nexus is all about the Brazilian gays using Air Force rocket launchers to carjack Crazy9000's teacher.

Maybe the mighty Brazilian military doesn't give a shit if gangs steal military weapons.....and maybe there's a rat inside who helped them get those. :?

Rio has a very high crime rate. It also advertises itself as having a terrific homosexual night life. That advertisting campaign makes me rather uncomfortable, given the fact that it's more or less lawless.

IIRC, AT weapons were used to try and spring prisoners from jail out there. It'll end up being used for similar or on a bank robbery.

In many parts of Brazil police patrol with guns draw, I doubt this will make things much worse. More likely some moron will try to fire one out of a vehicle with only one window rolled down and promptly die.
