I am somewhat upset by the notion that my entire force just got hosed by some EMPs.
Not the entire force, just most of them.

All these armed dignataries and executives running about just gave me a mental image of GW Bush wielding an M-16 and single-handedly clearing out Afghanistan.

1st Rule of Silly President Movies: Any POTUS can, when faced with Terrorist or Alien attack, easily weild any nearby MP-5s, F-14s, or other weapons necessary to head the strike against them

Didn't I tell you that Reinhasshu was ex military in the Original game?

(If not, that's what I intended for him.)

hehe, if it comes down to that, I dont plan on going Air Force 1 on their ass. I figure it fits in well with Faran Tor's character to be able to weild a mean pair of pistols, but besides that I have some rather helpless leaders... erk.

Darksider, and old man using modern gear and and training from 50 years ago won't be able to stand up against these things- not for long....

Hell, my Assassin won't even be shockingly usedul against a large number of these things- she's trained for dealing with spellcasters and psions, not power-armor robots.

Sure

Krell: Monaco "Bunker Complex"

Arcanists: Andorran "Bunker Complex"

Nashtar: Sandhurst

UP: Sweedish Mountains

Ousters/Floaters: Atlantic Ocean Sea-bed research station.

KSE: Japan, Tokyo "Bunker Complex"

Baeloraen (sp?): South American Mountains.

Any others: Spread about the world like above...

He was an officer for fifty years.

He's not exactly human either. 200 years is about middle aged for his race.

Besides, dosen't it seem likely that the emperor would take the occasional refresher course in shooting, just in case somthing like this happens?

Not really- and he sure as hell wouldn't even approach the skill of, say, a Monacoran GI. I think it's safe to say that none of our delegations will be holding off massed enemy attacks.

That being said, I can have a dozen or so Spiders hit bunkers with named characters in them for giggles and fun. If people want to have these armed dignitaries go out in a blaze of glory, as opposed to with a giant shell falling from above.

That would be preferable to getting smashed by an orbital strike.

Just remember what I said though, if Reinhasshu dies, the KSE won't stop until you are gone completely.

I've established that the President is ex-Army, but no, I'm not going to treat him like Rambo in his prime.

And send your spiders. I have an armed Pelican sitting outside the bunker. They like missiles and 40 mm chain gun fire?

No, I mean his empire will be GONE. There will be no survivors, every colony, every ship, every damnd one of them will be completely erased.

And I don't think he want's to pull the sam type of "Oh, my empire's screwed so i'll just get a new one" type of bullshit as Laz.

Please. I await the hide and seek that will occour once my fleet is dead. I am sure it will be a fun series of posts.

By the way.. Since the invasion began, there has been NO contact with the Overseer itself. So sorry, can't track that way. My forces are competent.

I doubt it, but they do care about ships that can one-hit their cruisers, I think.

Bugsby, that's not my fleet, it's the Battleship that droped off the emperor. It's been hiding in the asteroid belt since the attack began.

This is a time buying manuver.

Hehe, KSE has fusion cannon, Krell has Lance.... there is a lot of one-shot-kill capability massing at Alpha Cent.

A simple sacrifice move to buy time for the fleets to arrive. I've been planning it since Nitram started his attack.

I would have done something like that, but as powerful as the AEGIS is, it wouldnt have lasted long against that fleet. But now I am very glad I brought along my Executor-equivalent ship. =)

BTW, Darksider, would it be fair to say that until your fusion cannon are charged, your vessels are undergunned?
