What is your favourite Schwarzenegger movie?
Moderator: Edi
Kindergarten Cop, if only because, like The Punisher, it was unabashedly set in Tampa and it's fun seeing all the local landmarks.
Zaia, if ever you see an Arnie movie, make it Commando. It has Arnie in a speedo. What isn't there to love about that?
T2 was badass, as was True Lies. I loved those one liners! Tom Arnold is da man!
I can't remember any of the rest offhand though. I'm Arnie-deprived. Gotta take a trip to the video store now.

I'm stuck between Terminator 1/2 or True Lies. The Terminator movies (well, the first two as I didn't see the third) are just badass, but I also really liked the plot and Schwarzy's character in True Lies. So I'm stuck.

Total Recall. Marginally. I have a general distaste for all his movies.

My favorite parts of The Last Action Hero is where the kid imagines what Olivier's Hamlet would be like if Jack Slater (Schwartzenegger) was Hamlet.

The one and only Schwartzenneger movie that I absolutely hated the first time I saw it was Red Sonja. Gaaaaagh!!
This was a fairly early Arnold movie so you know a movie has got to be pretty bad when Arnold is clearly one of the best actors in the movie.
I've kind of grown to somewhat like this movie now for the cheese factor.
<---------bonus: My current avatar is from one of Arnold's movies.

True Lies was great. I loved the little segues into Arnold's fantasy world (such as when he back-fists the used car salesman or cracks the binocular lens). The best shot in the movie is when he breaks into the salesman's trailer and finds him feeling his wife up. Even through his ski mask, you see Arnold's eyes bulging out of their sockets. Absolutely hilarious.
Conan's fun, too. Give a kid a giant stick and let him push it around in the dirt, and 20 years later, you've got Mr. Universe.

Black Sun, Black Moon, two snakes...but they are one.
It shows up during the end credits of Conan the Barbarian.
I like to refer to it as the smiley face of doom.
Incidently, I like End of Days. For some reason I didn't get all that into the first time I saw it but I still enjoy rewatching it. It's creepy and Gabriel Byrne is a real bastard as "The Man".

Out of the entire list you provided, I'd pick T2/T3. It's difficult to pick either of those two, since I like them both. I think T2 would win by a hair.Darth Wong wrote:A partial list:There's too many options for a poll so I won't do one, but I'm curious. I think the most high-quality movie out of that list would be T2, but my personal favourite Arnold performance is either Commando (so comically over-the-top!) or Total Recall, which is simply an awesome combination of humour and sci-fi.

*smacks* End of Days and Predator. How could I forget?
Oh, and I thought his little cameo in The Rundown was pretty damn funny.

Conan the Barbarian
Conan the Destroyer
Terminator 1
Predator
Total Recall
Those are my favorites in that order. I am somewhat partial to Conan simply because I was a huge Conan fan (comics, etc) as a kid. I remember being upset when Arnold cut his hair for Terminator because that meant he probably wasn't going to film another!

Predator - this film is tied with ghostbusters for being my favourite, it's one of the films where they did almost everything "right" in it as far as I'm concerend for my film-going pleasure.
Favourite scene: Arnie getting his ass handed him by the predator, in hand to hand combat, and the cocky walking it does when removing it's hardware.
Favourite line: UUUUARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Terminator 2 - See above, but this time with cyborgs from the future, although i think i would've preferred it with the expanded future war sequence.
Favourite scene: the biker scene at the beginning, to be desecrated totally by t3. Alternatively, the bike-truck chase scene, or the car chase nearer the end. Reminds me of Twisted Metal on the ps1.
Favourite line: My CPU is a neural net processor, a learning computer (if only for it's use in the Arnie calls Gateway mp3 floating around on the net)
Terminator 1 - I liked it alot, not as good as t2, but still full of greatness.
Favourite scene: Police station shootout.

Thats Bill Paxtion; poor guy...he's been killed by arnie twice(he was one of the thugs in T-1, carsales-men.) Also killed by a predator, xenomorph in aliens, etc....Durandal wrote:True Lies was great. He's like got the crappiest character shields ever....(he dies in every movie he's in.)

I would say my favorite is Commando (classic "turn off your brain and enjoy" flick), followed by Total Recall, and Terminator 2.

I liked True Lies a lot, but I also thought The 6th Day was good lark, too. Those would be my two picks.
