“Sensor drones? Eh, hell, guess we have to start somewhere,” Radim made a note of the individuals who had joined him in his position, particularly the Ouster representative. He liked the guy’s style. Brutal, honest, and not afraid to take a piss. “We’ll coordinate with the others for the search effort. As far as ground forces are concerned, I say fuck it. We don’t exactly owe it to those overgrown data terminals to be gentle. I doubt they have what we could really consider a civilian population anyway, so I say whatever we find, we destroy. Unless anyone here thinks they could be ‘rehabilitated’, that is.”

High admiral Nakema spoke

"Emperor, perhaps you are letting your greif over the lost lives interfere with your judgement?"

Upon hearing this, the emperor began to lose his composure.

"How dare you. You arrogant son of a bitch. I just watched another world die, the people who raped this planet must be destroyed. We must act now."

"I'd be glad to, let to call ahead to my fleet and inform them and then we can be on way. So what is this event?"
"The event is a grand game that has it's roots set deep in the past, on our planet when the air turns cold (ooc 110-115 degrees farenheight) the floating pods swell and become edable. But their skin and flesh is tough so they must first be beaten severly, this task evolved into a game. the pods are first greased with the fat of an animal then thrown into the water two teams compeat to push the pods from into the opposing team's goal. The battering that the pod recieves by the compeating teams softens it and releases even greater flavors. While the need for this game has decreased over the years the festaval of the order when it is played has not it is our most important of holidays and is not missed by any Atlantian no matter where they are. When you attend you will see a great competiton several years in the makeing our strongest techs will compeat with their long time rivals the sneeky and clever pilots. After which there will be a great feast and the best of our food stocks will be used."

Jerac nodded his head. "Agreed. We wil not waste lives attempting to land troops. Worlds these things control, we will turn to cinders beneath our guns. They are not life, and should not be treated as such."

The emperor stood

"This is a waste of time."

He turned to the two admirals

"You wrap things up here quickly and then get your sorry asses moving, and find the monsters that did this."

The emperor stormed out into the hallway.

Admiral Nakema stood

"Please forgive him, he's been under alot of stress lately."

Jerac shook his head.

"Old fool. His outburst helps nothing. Casting about wildly, revenge in one's eyes, will bring us only dissapointment, and then perhaps destruction if the Machines return. We will need to pool our resources if we are to succeed."

With that, the massive Ouster stood with surprising grace, and turned to leave the room. The questions had all been answered; now was the time for action.

Monacoran Space
Earth
Andorra

The question had been answered by the group as a whole, the idea of incorporating Asgard technology discarded as being too time consuming and warranting far too much internal reworking for it to be viable in this engagement. The following exchanges noted and appreciated, before the group as a whole seemed to reach some sort of consensus. The Veithan fleet incorporated drones in a wide scale, and it possessed various kinds of sensor drones. This greatly simplified the situation, as it would take only minor modifications to create the sort of drones needed for this particular occasion. “We are more than capable of deploying sensor drones to seek our prey. I will make sure that the process is instigated.”

His head turned, glancing at the Ravenlock representative as he so casually threw around orbital bombardment. In this case however, he had no complaints. Those that had attacked Earth deserved little sympathy, the fact that they were machines simplified matters. He doubted that with the murder of Magdalena Hyrt still on their minds, the Veithan populace would object too much. “I concur with the assessment of the Ravenlock.” He doubted command would struggle giving him the necessary leeway.

"I'm sure he'll change his mind. With the death of his oldest friend, Hanse Davion, and the fact that the attack on Earth reminded him far too much of the attack on Krytos one hundred years ago, he simply has not been the same since the battle. I'm going to try to calm him down."

Admiral Nakema left to go after the Emperor.

The high admiral caught up with the emperor.

"M'lord, a word?"

"There's nothing you can say to me Nakema."

"Flying off the handle and going nuts will only get more people killed Reinhasshu. You must know that."

"What if it's Carulan they hit next time? What if we're forced to abandon another home to a relentless enemy?"

"It won't happen. They've pissed off the entirety of known space. Once they're found I doubt they'll last two days."

"What happend to you Reinhasshu? Up until two days ago you were the wisest and most level headed leader that the empire's ever had."

"What happned? I watched not only my friend, but billions of others die, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. If you and conner hadn't arrived, I'd be dead. For all my power, I am truely powerless."

"You can't stop an entire invasion fleet by yourself."

"I should have tried to do somthing."

"And get yourself killed in the process? Reinhasshu, your people need you, now more than ever."

"I suppose your right Nakema, but that does not mean I have to like it."

"Shall we return to the meeting?"

"Let's go."

"You have a point your highness. I think we're all agreed that there should be no surviviors allowed however. I think we don't want to go through the effort of hunting them down, only to have them pop up every couple of generations. Best to wipe them out completly, as they would us." The Lord Protector said coldly.

Veithan Empire Space
Veitha III

The diplomatic ship Interesting Times exited hyperspace on the agreed upon vector. It had no escorts, and the ship itself had no real defenses against attack or weapons of its own. It was a statement of trust, and part of the Ravenlock way of doing things. Once in system, they continued on their vector, making themselves well known to Veithan STC and complying with them on the way in.

“This is going to turn into a massive news story, isn’t it, Diego?”

“Probably will, sir. We’ve requesting a low profile on the way in, but you know how word spreads, and with a free press, well, it’ll be just like home.”

“And people wonder why I spend so much time in my office.”

“I always figured you were some sort of vampire, if it helps.”

“Careful. Turns out those exist. You might be right,” the Director smirked, baring his teeth slightly.

United Systems News
-Broadcast in 7 languages in 16 different star nations!-
-a subsidiary of the Basque Industrial Conglomorate-

-< Historic Military Agreement >-

"Delegates from nearly every major power meet on the still-shattered city of Andorra on Earth. After deliberating extensively, a comprehensive plan for hounding down and destroying the culprits in Tuesday's disasterous attack by unknown forces in the cradle of humanity. Called by some the Rape of Terra, and by others simple The Burn, the unprovoked attack has been widely denounced as the most horrific act of violence since the Genocide Wars ove a century ago.

"This is a historic moment." Said one Nashtar naval officer. "The combined forces of Known Space will wipe the perpetrators of this awful tragedy from the face of the universe."

-< Arcanist Genocide Continues >-

"On five different former Krynori worlds, Arcanist forces continue their genocidal reign of terror. In the largest ethnic clensing since the Asgard purge of Durandel's Empire, Arcanist mages have been recorded using magic to rip symbiotes from their host-bodies, and then feeding them into vices or other torture devices. Analysts compute that the Krynori species will be eradicated on all Arcanist-held Krynori worlds within the month. Forces of the Ouster/Monacoran compact have also captured a number of Krynori worlds. In a showdown just yesterday, a group of Ouster vessels turned back an Arcanist murder squad over the Ja'Del system. This is the second example of violent Arcanist imperialism and sentient's rights abuse over the last year; Arcanist representatives were unavailable for comment.

Official Response of the Arcane Empire

The Goa'Uld are, or rather were, a threat to every humanoid race in the known glaxy. They found worklds inhabited by sentient species and infected them, destroying their capacity to determine their own destiny. They attacked us, and they attacked the other nations with whom we are aligned. They enslaved the minds of billions of people, and even held dominion over the now raped earth for a time. They were a menace and they needed to be stopped.

It is regretable that we must destroy a sentient species, but it is a sentient species that only continues living because it parasitizes us. It destroys a persons mind and takes control of the body. Keeping the persons mind in a state of torment for a life span that measures in the thousands of years.

We have never harmed their innocent hosts, save to relieve the suffering of the ones that have succumbed to insanity from what amounts to thousands of years in a sensory deprivation chamber. We remove their symbiotes through spells yes, but they are teleported out, not ripped as some would suggest.

Such people cannot be helped, we tried. Our best of telepaths, psychologists and therapists gave a prognosis for such individuals as approximatly zero. We ended their sufering painlessly through a ritual that sent their soul peacefully to the Fugue plane. Those that had only been under mental domination for a few years can probably make a full recovery.

As to the fate of the Goa'Uld. For causing this suffering on entire planetary populations at a time, we have had no choice. We make no apologies. They must be cleansed. Never again will they subject another sentient being to such torment. Such beings have no rights as far as the Arcane Empire is concerned. Only a being that acts in a civilized manner and does not cause the mental breakdown of entire civilizations is deserving of "sentient rights"

As to accusations of Imperialism, we make no effort to hide our expansionist nature. However, we freed a world from a brutal theorcracy, we granted them full citizenship and all the rights and priviledges therof and they responded with guns. They were spurred on by Goa'Uld agents, and since their defeat, the attacks have stopped. We act to defend ourselves, and to provide some measure of security for the people of the former Covenant. We are currently working on setting up a sovereign government. However such efforts are frought with different christian denominations fighting for control. If defending our citizens and defending ourselves is a sentient right violation, so be it. We may be heavy handed at times, but we bear these people nothing but good will. But order must be maintained.

The Prince was immeadietly informed. Drelaan was soon taking to one of the Prince's private offices, one that unfortunatley over looked out apon the sky and on the mountains nearby. It was not a pleasent sight. The Prince, nonetheless, greeted the visitor cheerfully.

"Hello, what can I do for you?"
Drealaan walked into the office of the political prince, he had an air of purpose about him, he was here to give the citizens of earth a hope to remain on their homeworld, no matter what the sate of the planet was.

"I am pleased you could meet with me, though I am sorry these are not better circumstances." he took a seat, "I have an offer for you, so that the citizens of this world can remain here, safely, and continue with their lives normally." this was indeed a surprise, one which the political prince did not expect. "It will take decades to repair earth, perhaps a century, I've seen the atmospheric reports, the scans of the polar icecaps, this planet may be "uninhabitable" in years, or less. My offer is simple, for a marginal fee we will bring and install a few city scale, pre-made, archologies, built but never used for one reason or another, the Commonwealth has no more plans of colonization anytime soon, it would be considered a service if you were to take these off our hands." he paused for a minute, pulling out a small hologram projector from his pocket. It displayed a gigantic structure; according to the height meter it extended many mines into the sky. "This, my friend, is the basic layout of a small city scale archology. The upper levels," he pointed to the top, spire like half,” designed capacity is roughly 250,000 occupants, far more if you make better use of the space, Baeloaren apartments are rather large, on the whole. The bottom," he continued pointing to the bottom half which was the base of the structure,” is where the bulk of the space is, it can be used for almost anything, normally industry, but it could certainly be used for "other things". The structure's base goes deep underground and is capable of surviving any earthquake, storm, or similar natural disaster without bothering its inhabitance. Basically, it will be able to stand up to anything this planet can throw at your population while it’s being ‘terraformed’. Baeloaren Society dwells within structures such as these exclusively, and there are many other benefits. Most notably is that you can focus your planetary shields over small regions, as opposed to the entire planet; had your people lived in structures such as these during the Rape I can assure you the damage to the civilian population would have been significantly lower. I urge you to accept this offer while it stands, the logistics of evacuating every citizen on earth, even after the losses, is a mammoth undertaking; your people would be able to return to a normal lifestyle a within month or so!” Drealaan stopped and waited for the Political Prince; this was obviously a lot to take in all at once.
