Questions about STGOD...
Being new here (and having participated in the now-moribund STGOD at ASVS), I figure'd it would be best to ask questions before considering joining in here:
Am I correct in deducing 'STGOD-4' as the latest STGOD incarnation?
What/where are the rules/regulations for this particular STGOD? Limits on planets/shipbuilding/etc?
There seems to be only 1 STGOD game thread, 1 OOC thread, 1 OOB (rather than declaration) thread, etc. This is very different from the ASVS system (STGOD, STGOD-i, DTGOD, etc.). Can someone explain to me the difference? And why is every topic handled in 1 thread? It seems cumbersome to browse through 72 pages of 1 topic to post a reply.
A condensed history/status of various empires would be helpful. What has happened?
Any information would be much appreciated.

Re: Questions about STGOD...
Too lazy to deal with the other things. Here's the short and sweet version of the Historyadmiral_danielsben wrote:A condensed history/status of various empires would be helpful. What has happened?
In the begining there was SD.Net STGOD I (different then this one) in that one there were two wars, and finally two power blocks grew from the mass of Nations. The New Bejing Alliance which was comprised of the Asgard, the Skaven, the PIR, and the Kokkand (later merged with the Asgard) against which there was the Ordino Accord member nations which consisted of the Floaters, the Monacorans, the Krytosian Star Empire (KSE,) the Pan Slavic Republic, and the Durandalians. Long story short that one broke down into in fighting and flames.
Now, unplayed back story. The really big war was coming up between the nations, so Monacora (my nation, also an Earth bound nation and former rulers of Earth) was straining under the demands of the Alliance. So, to get out of the war, Monacora sold war plans for Asgard teritory on Earth and for Neutrality in the war. War broke out, war was horrific. The Pan Slavs, Durandalians, Skaven, Floaters, and PIR were all devastated in one form or another, and a hundred years things start out again.
This time we start of with a fundie nation (Covenant) deciding to go to war with everyone. They soon get bitch-slapped by the new powers on the block the Arcane Empire (magic users,) Nashtar Republic, the U.P, and a few others that slip my mind. Then, coming to their defense, the Jardanians (Lazerus) went to help the Covenant, Covenant and Jardanians die. Ousters (similar to Floaters, yet different) forment rebellion on former Covenant worlds. Things progress a little, the Goa'ould (Lazerus again) come into existence, try to do the covert ops thing (Laz power games,) they fail, get caught, run, then come back and surrender. Next Monacora (only Earth bound power left) calls a grand council of all powers, all powers come, things go well. During meeting the Ousters pull a power play against the Goa'ould within bounds of the treaty signed, Goa'ould go to war, almost every nation comes around and delivers the bang-bus (read: We got tired of power gaming.) Meanwhile, on Earth, big bad power delilvers one MEGA blow to Earth. Burns Earth to a crisp, kills handful of delegates, and then gets fleet killed. Other powers get mad and go on war path. And here we are today...

Well, Ol' Bean, welcome to SDnet!
As for our current STGOD, well, time for a story.
Back two years ago, we made SDnet STGOD1, an STGOD based on a far smaller scale than the ASVS STGOD. It ran pretty well, maybe half a year, then died to to "creative differences." IT was a Star Trek scale STGOD, set in the worlds around Earth perhaps 3-4 hundred years in the future. It ended in a shattering war.
STGOD2 was a continuation of the ASVS STGOD, including a quartet of the old nations (Kzin, Star Kingdom of Serenity, United Terran Republic, Corporate Sector) and a whole host of new ones. It ran fairly well, lasting another half year. Hopefully we'll be able to get back to it in the future.
STGOD3 was a superhero STGOD disconnected from the rest, totally unimportant to this story.
Which brings us to STGOD4. It's a continuation of SDnet STGOD1, set a century after the Genocide Wars which tore Known Space apart.
We are looking at a series of empires.
Monacoran Empire: Rulers of Earth, the Monacoran Empire is a large kingdom with a weak navy and a very powerful and well trained army. It is a survivor from the Genocide Wars of STGOD1.
Overseer: Evil Van Neumann machines, scattered across known space in hidden factories. It's goal is the destruction of all organics.
The Ouster Hajr: Heavily genemodified humans who live in zero-g colonies, the Ousters have invaded known space. They are currently settling down on their newly-aquired holdings and opening diplomatic relations. Related to the Floaters, a major power destroyed in the Genocide Wars.
Arcane Empire: A large star empire, and a major signatory of the Alliance. the Arcanists use magic instead of technology to ply the spaceways (DnD based)
Nashter Republic: A democratic power based in a dense star-cluster. Signatory of the Alliance.
Krytos Star Empire: A venerable power and surviror of the Genocide Wars. Signatory of the Alliance.
United Protectorates: A democratic power based on modern America. Signatory of the Alliance.
Psilon Empire: An enigmatic government, and Signatory of the Alliance.
Krell Combine: A purely mercenary power, Adar Krell's Combine has fought in almost every war for one side or another.
Grand Empire of Gladsheim: An enigmatic society, the GEG's populace is linked via a sort of social internet, allowing unprecedented unity. They inhabit floating cities in gas giants.
Realm of the Blood King: A Vampire state, enigmatic and powerful.
VEithan Empire: Empire of human telepaths, allied with Gladsheim and the Ravenlock. Enigmatic.
Ravenlock Consortium: A two-species empire, including humans and the Dra'kol.
Bealorian Confederacy: A strange alien empire with a genetically enforced caste system. It's Order Police limit contact with the outside world.
Covenant of God: Religious fanatics, now defunct at the hand of the Alliance, and split up into occupation zones by the Alliance. Revolts were recently put down by heavy use of violent force.
Free Republic of Jardan: Formerly the militaristic Jardanian Confederacy, this empire was thrown into a democratic revolt after the catastrophic defeat of it's military by the Ousters.
Kyrnor Empire: A Goa'Ould Empire, after repeatadly commiting acts of covert aggression (and being caught!) The Krynor Empire was conquered by the Alliance and a Monacoran/Krell/Ouster compact. Now being divied up into occupation zones, Arcanists are commiting genocide on Krynor symbiots.
Current Events:
Basically, a massive alliance of five powers dominates the region- the Alliance of the Arcanists, Nashtar, Psilons, the United Protectorate, and the Krytosians. The Veithan/Gladsheim/Ravenlock set of alliances is the only other one worthy of note.
Earth has been razed by the Overseer during a major diplomatic conference, killing the leaders and representatives of many powers. All powers are currently involved in hunting the Overseer down.
The defeat of the Krynori fleet at the Battle of Second Camaro has lead to a new series of occupations as the Alliance and the Krell/Ouster/Monacoran short-term compact take various Krynori systems. Some friction between Ousters and Arcanists over the Arcanist genocide of Krynor symbiotes.

Absolutly. First, you need to post an Order of Battle- examples of the other OOBs for this STGOD can be found here:This thing sounds awesome. Can I join this thing?

The Game Thread is here, I highly recommend you at least skim it to get an idea of the galactic situation and the way the game is played.

Thank you, everybody. Just two things:
1. What are the maximum number of planets, rough fleet limits, etc?
2. I want to pull a RayCav for my power (in ASVS, he isn't discredited, and RCE was one of the more entertaining powers), and create a corporation/corporate-state. Is this okay? Note that I am not going to copy RayCav's extreme perviness; there may or may not even be clones for sale, let alone a huge army of femme fatales/sex-slaves.

I actually participated in the ASVS STGOD2, not the original STGOD. to see my work, use google groups and look for any "STGOD", "STGOD-i" or "DTGOD" threads involving the 'Mulciber League'.

12 developed planets max and 12 colony worlds max (note many powers have aquired lager areas through conquest.)
As for ships, you get 25 supercapital (Superdreadnought, Dreadnought, Battleship, Fleet Carrier), 70 Cruiser, and 500 escorts. If you take less than that, your vessels are considered more individually powerful.
