Waldemar Milewicz was a war correspondent, one of the best ones in Poland. He always ventured where other journalists would not dare to go, to report on what was happening, bringing stories of the grand scheme of things as well as of the little people caught amidst the fighting.

He was one of the first journalists to cross the Iraqi border with american troops, and said many times that he was going there because many people won't, and someone has to record the truth.

Today he joined his 27 colleagues.

I watched a report on this last night on CNN. An algerian travelling in the same car was also killed.

IIRC CNN mentioned that 25 jounalists were killed in Iraq

Yes. And it looks like the attackers knew perfectly well they were shooting at unarmed reporters...
