Shaun of the Dead
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum- it isn't technology based sci-fi nor is it fantasy so I thought I'd shove in in here.
How many of you have seen this brilliant film? I don't know if its out in the States yet but it's been out for at least a month or so here in the UK.
My friends and I went to see it last night. After that we spent a half hour or so debating the merits of our various local pubs in terms of defensibility against zombies.
"Reports that the virus was spread by rage-infected monkeys were complete bullshit"

No, it should be Shaun of the Deadevilcat4000 wrote:Should not the title be "Dawn of the Dead" ?
I haven't seen it yet, but I love Spaced, and I'm trying to get some time to see it.
There's another thread about it in this forum, though.

The tag line is: A romantic comedy... with Zombies!
If you've ever seen Spaced, I imagine it's the same sort of humour.

That thread has sank for a while, so it'd probably get locked if you responded to it.
Yeah, I saw it, cool film all round. The whole cricket-bats against zombies was excellent. Going to have to steal that for my film.
The way the guy who played Bernard in Black Books died was excellently gory, and the whole thing, despite being romantic and a comedy, had some well done action scenes.
I also liked it how the woman from Spaced also had her own troup of survivors that she was leading.
What they did with the zombies after the problems was fucking funny.

And anyone confusing this with Dawn Of The Dead needs their head banging.
It's not really like Spaced since there are hardly any pop culture references (though one or two will crop up). It's based entirely on an episode of Spaced in the first series, the one with Vulva and when Tim is playing Resident Evil 2 enough to hallucinate it. And that's it.
Great film though.
"Don't sneak up on me like that!" The episode is episode III and is called "Art".Admiral Valdemar wrote:YOU'VE NOT SEEN IT?!InnerBrat wrote:No, it should be Shaun of the Deadevilcat4000 wrote:Should not the title be "Dawn of the Dead" ?

And I've not seen Shaun of the Dead yet either sadly.

"But Big Al also says dogs can't look up."
after exhaustive research, I've determined that dogs CAN look up. Pigs, however, can't.
And elephants can't jump.
Which is probably all for the best.

Fine, I've seen it now, everybody happy?
That scene where they're making their plans? That was pure Tim and Mike!
What are you, kidding, it's exactly like Spaced, only without Daisy and with Zombies.Admiral Valdemar wrote:It's not really like Spaced since there are hardly any pop culture references (though one or two will crop up).

And yes, it has aspects of Spaced, but you couldn't call it a proper episode, at least they intended for a different atmosphere to the series.

No, it wasn't an episode, but it was the same humour (some of the same jokes). And yes, it has aspects of Spaced, but you couldn't call it a proper episode, at least they intended for a different atmosphere to the series.
