So now you can monitor private council meetings with diviners?

Oh, and, thought transcripts? WTF? And didn't you just launch a lawsuit against VNN?

Perhaps I'm out of line here, but I don't think you can do that, Alyrium.
In order to know what happened in there you'd need to know where the conference was taking place, when it was taking place, all sorts of stuff. You can't pull a spy network like that out of your ass.

In any event, the ability to monitor the leader(s) of another nation remotely is too much. If you have an extensive spy network in place; fine, or if you have implanted some sort of monitoring device in their heads that they don’t know about (which is a huge ordeal). Hell, even if that was allowed, what do you think Monacoran officials would do if VNN broadcasted a “thought transcript” of a high ranking Monacoran official? They’d bug out, who else could do that? Hell, with the way the Vethians think of you, that might just backfire!

We monitor our diplomats. We dont monitor the other guy, just ours. Think of it like a court reporter. He has a mental link with the diplomat, and transcribes his thoughts. Just in case we have a situation like this...

Yes we sued VNN. However, we also know that if we dont get them those documents, they will immediatly turn around and demonize us some more. This way, they get both sides.

How would they demonize you? How do you know that VNN would even have any damning evidence to use against you unless (gasp) you listened in on the private council meeting of the Political Prince.

We monitor our ambassadors thoughts to make sure they dont ahve anervous break or something... and to make sure they arent thinking about assassinating someone etc etc etc

Well good luck with that, though as I said, VNN doesn't like you; aren't you trying to sue them? I doubt they'd do anything to support your actions at this point.

It is only smart procedure. Why would we keep that secret, the death of an ambassador woud get public eventually, and when that happens, news agencies dont like us very much. If they ignore our side, it is libel and we can sue.

A "Thought Transcript" is not evidence. It is, in fact, merely the testimony of a single "witness." And frankly, when that witness is in the employ of your government, there really isn't much weight behind it.

Monacorans: "You attacked out general!"

Mages: "Uh, no, and to prove it, here's Mike, my employee. Mike reads minds. Mike, what was our diplomat thinking when this happened?"

Mike: "Uh, well, he was just going to open the door."

Mages: "See? My friend mike, who was hanging out on my homeworld when this happened, says the diplomat wasn't doing anything bad!"

Everyone Else: "Yeah. Right. Whatever."

I still chuckle to myself about your current lawsuit, but hey, you know what, go ahead. The fact of the matter is still that you were heavily inferring that you were watching in on the Political Prince's meeting with diviners, and that was the justification for you sending the transcripts to VNN instead of a friendly news agency like, say, GWN.

I do look forward to the comparison of a transcript versus a security recording.

Acutally, I don't think he was. The transcript is that of the diplomats, not the political prince's.

I remember the last time I monitored a diplomatic conference without permission of the parties involved, you dragged Faran Tor through the Astral Plane and proceeded to berate me in front of every other nation in existance. Now Im getting a strange deja vu feeling here...

I have never seen anyone nitpick as much as you....

He sent a transmission regarding their position regarding the incedent to us.

Knowing this would reach the media and especially VNN we sent the thought transcript.

We will be sending it sepeatly to GWN once it begins being reported..

Fine, hey, justify it like that. I really don't care that VNN gets a copy of the transcript. What bugged me was the way you seemed to instantly know the intentions of the Monacoran goverment and match their move exactly at the moment Straha posted. Since you have now clarified that you do not, in fact, have diviners capable of listening in on private meetings, I'm willing to let it go.

Eh, make it a week and a half to Earth then(presuming Earth's at the approximate center), we're supposed to be far out, but not that far out. Wasn't quite sure of travel times and distances, thanks.
