Star Trek 2: Director's Edition

Post by Uraniun235 »

Anyone else picked this up yet?

I've got it and it is great. The featurettes are awesome, the commentary is brilliant (not like some of the stupider commentaries I've heard), and the footage was added well and not just cut/pasted in.

I've had it since it came out. I love the re-done FX. Pity the extended battle footage wasn't put in. It would certainly explain the damage seen in ST3 when Enterprise limps back to the starbase.

Not much. The film is about four minutes longer.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am currently watching the ST:III special Edition. Bought it today as soon as it came out. Nimoy's commentray is really good. It should be noted that Harve Bennet said that transwarp was pulled out of his ass just to make Excelsior have something the Enterprise did not have.

Are there any deleted scenes?

No Deleted scenes, which is a bummer. But as you watch this and TWOK, you slowly begin to realize just how tight the budgets were on these movies and it amazes me what they got out of the shoestring budgets these movies were on. They really are quite good...Well, except for ST: V and Insurrection.
