Hotfoot wrote:Umm, Tycho, why are you posting with a new power? Your current power isn't omgwtf pwned, and now you've essentially got two full powers under your control, which is ridiculous.
Also, 80 battleships? Come on.
Listen, I already explained what I did with the other 2 powers: 1)Busy, and 2) Busy. Have you seen me posting with my old powers? No, you havent, so stop bitching at me. And those are 'battle cruisers', aka *cruisers*. Now you're just arguing semantics...
Doesn't matter, you still have 80 capital ships. Instead of going way over the supercap limit, you're going over the capship limit. On top of that, your 60 carriers are capital scale, which gives you twice as many cruiser-scale ships as ANY OTHER POWER.
I don't like the idea of you getting to make a new power every time you get busy. It's unbalancing and sets a terrible precedent. If you fall behind again with this one, you get to make another? I don't think so. You have a perfectly viable power available to you now, you should stick with it.
Do not meddle in the affairs of insomniacs, for they are cranky and can do things to you while you sleep.

Not at all the same thing. A Battle Cruiser mounts the same guns as a battleship, it just carries less armor and moves faster. If you don't want people to argue semantics with you, try using the correct terminology. The word you're looking for may be "heavy cruiser."

I agree. If you want to make a brand new power, Tycho, we're going to have to impose some limits. For example... how did this nation escape notice prior to this? We're willing to make allowances for new people, as they haven't been in the game before. But if current players want to make a brand-spanking new power, I think it should only be half as powerful as standard, to give an excuse as to why it wasn't spotted before this.

Ok, I will pick up my power again, after listening to the complaints going around. Now, I know I've earned some ill-will because of this, but I dont like this situation any more than anyone else. Especially when 2/3rds of my territory dissapear without me even having a chance to negoatiate...
Captain Tycho! The worst fucker ever!

Hi. Know I've been quiet for a while, but I should start having some time online tomorrow. I've skimmed over most of what's happened since Friday, but if I post something that conflicts with something that's already happened, that probably means I missed it. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, I suppose.
Right, I'm going to dispatch patrols to systems that might house Overseer colonies, unless there's some condition I'm not aware of concerning that.

When did 2/3 of your territory disappear? We attacked LAZ. If you were allied with him, thats your own fault. And trust me, had you come to his aid, you would be dead right now. Things turned out fairly well for you.

Most aggreeable. It's not like I plan to go to war anyway.
Hmmm. To reiterate Sanchez's stand on Tycho's new empire, if your nation was as large and powerful as the rest, why weren't you noticed sooner?
Frankly, I don't want to see you at the helm of a full civilization. I've had to smash you twice, and both times you folded. Your grasp of the political situation was infantile, and you earned what you got. You can't use a full nation effectively, and basically, need training wheels.
I'd have to insist that you either take up one of your previous empires (Free Republic of Jardan is in generally decent shape,) or accept a weakened one.

I would only be ok with Laz returning if Pablo says its ok. And in that case, Thirdfain is right, pick up Jardan. It is very weak after we had to destroy the fleets a first time around, and it is now a free state, following the revolution there. Also, it eliminates slow, messy first contact scenarios and lets you keep a modicum of continuity. But again, only if Pablo says yes.

Bugsy: Given that our tech level is far too low for a BDZ, and the entire Overseer forces now involved are kilometers under the surface, surface bombardment simply isn't going to register. And this is the OOC Thread.

Yeah, I kina knew that.

I would prefer a weakend one, because the FROJ still has all the bad rep from the old Empire of Jardan, and because starting off with a small, wartorn, heavly-in-debt empire is not the same thing as starting off with simply a small one.

-shrug- You put it there. It hasn't been invaded, it's navy is still intact, and it has it's heroes- remember, it did just kick the shit out of the Rebels and the Krynori empire.
Frankly, I think it's your best choice.

True, but it also has all the problems inherent from a sudden transition from a century-old dictator ship to a republic.
If i'm requried too, i'll take it up, but I would prefer a new, smaller/weaker one.
Ok, I'm adapting the stance that the only way I'd be willing to see you back in the STGOD would be as the Free Republic of Jardan. You need to live with the consequences of your actions, and if we let you get another fresh start (therefore forcing usinto another boring 1st contact situation) then I don't think this will help the STGOD. Frankly, I don't think you'll do anything for the STGOD with Jardan, but I'm up for giving you one last chance.
