Prince of Persia GameCube Sound Problems

Post by Dalton »

I picked up Prince of Persia for the GameCube recently (excellent game, BTW) and for some reason the sound is really crappy. It sounds overmodulated and rather monaural, and there are no stereo settings in the game. Does anyone know if this game requires actual surround sound to not sound like ass?

Oh yeah, all the other GCN games I have sound fine (Wind Waker, Skies of Arcadia, etc).

My copy on the GCN sounds shitty too. It is supposed to have stereo, it's just that the samples on the disk are of poor quality. I believe it is because of poor audio compression techniques used by Ubi-Soft. I have started using surround sound when I play it and it is only a little bit better.

Curses. So the music is OK, but the voices are shit. Guess you can only fit so much on a mini-DVD...
