So, you're reading through a thread, suddenly you see a certain poster, what do you imagine he/she as looking like.

Don't be afraid to be specific!

I tend to get an image of people from their avatars, if it a living thing. Otherwise, I really don't think about it.

I can't help but imagine that you are like an Angel, actually, Straha, no dick and all.

Assuming that castration finally happened, that is.

In all seriousiness, I don't get images of people when I read their post. I do however sometimes get a specific voice that narrates their post. Back when Ryoga used Comic Book Guy as his avatar, I would always hear that character when I read his post against Darkstar. Of course his intelligent insults and knowledge of Star Trek kinda helped.

What about those of us who have actually posted pictures of ourselves? Do people envision us as ourselves, or do they actually connect us more with our avatars?

For some strange reason, the only time I envision your posted pictures is when reading from the website. Otherwise I either see a little Yoda running by, hitting Trolls around crotch level, or the big moon with the funny horns.

I usually just picture their av's.

This of course led to my belief that Shinova and aerius were women.

If I have seen their picture in the pictures thread I view them as themselves. If they had not posted their picture I view them as their avatar.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

I picture people by their avatars. And it it's not exactly a person...then I just kind of connect the picture with their online personality. How they write, what kinds of words they use. So for people like Spanky, I think they have multiple personalities. But the others who change avatars less often, I kind of envision them as connected to it. And yeah, Wong is Yoda to me.

I agree; it demonstrates their behavior and the type of person they envision themselves to be. So at this state, Wong is Yoda and I am at heart a consulting detective operating out of Baker Stree in London.

I picture avatars, which, let me tell you, led to quite a bit of confusion until I learned spanky and Aerius were male!

I originally envisioned InnerBrat as a redhead, before she revealed that she's a blonde. (I probably mixed her and Zaia up with each other)

So this means you picture me as a 3ft tall guy with greyish-brown skin, squinty jet-black eyes and a severe case of progeria?

ROFLMAO!!!

Sometimes I see people more as the same genre of their avatars (i.e., Spanky and Shinova in anime, DW in SW, Stravo and Mitth in ST, and others similarly). If their military type people, I can't help but see them in cammies. -shrugs-

I really don't mind if people see me as my avatar. My avatars are generally hotness. XD

Thats a Black Mage hethen!

I go by AVs a bit too, thats why I was a bit taken a back at Nitram and Tevars wedding photos. I expected to see a litte guy in a big hat and a blur robe and a little woman in a white one, but alas, I was proved wrong.

Although I couldn't help but see a tiny similarity between Frued and Aly when he posted his bit the other week...
