My first, that I kept for over a year, was an annoying gif that flashed "Daala...SSD....Thrawn...A-wing...FIGHT!" Then I got my Battlestar Galactica DVDs and decided to do the Cylon emblem seen on the side of Cylon Raiders (but a different coloration).

I change mine at least once daily, choosing them depending on my mood or whether I've used a particular one in a while.

Asuka avatars are for weekdays, except occasionally on days I want to do something different or go a week with a different series. Misc. avatars typically are used on weekends, most often beginning with catgirl Knuckles on Friday nights.

During periods where I have to devote my time to other affairs, such as finals, I use ones such as my current avatar.

In total I have about 150 that I have used one or more times.

Change according to mood, or whatever I'm currently watching/interested in, and I use Uga VI, UGA's mascot, during college football season. I've probably used around a dozen avatars overall.

I've always been, and always will be, using Mumy's avatar. I have a good Garibaldi av, but frankly, I don't want to change this one.

Oh, and I had a really shitty Starfury av for a while, but I got rid of it ASAP.

I've had 2 or 3 I think, can't remember exactly, they've stuck to the same thing, I'm fairly happy with this one, (it goes with the signature when the webspace actually bothers to be up and running - suppose that's what happens if you aren't paying for it).

I change my avatar roughly once a month. What i choose depends on my mood. My favourite avatar is the Bart Simpson one where he replaces the baby on the nevermind album insert.

I don't remember exactly what I used as my original avatar... but nowadays I change it every week, give or take a day. Given enough time, I hope to amass enough that I have enough avatars to have a different one each week each year.

I have only changed mine twice or so since Chrismas out of inactivity and laziness, though normally I switch it once a week or so with one of 15 or 20 regular avatars. I've got a stash of 30 in my Avatar folder.
