Yeah, sure, but when Alyrium's characters "assume" things exactly right five or six times in a row I get suspicious.

Heya Guys!

I am not gonna be available until this sunday since I am going to be away from home and my computer. I will try and keep an eye on the threads, but I can't promise anything. :)

A little OOC note to my last post. I am working under the assumption that the crown prince of the grand empire managed to show up after my conversation with the ravenlock representative. However, if Dahak and Hotfoot want to have fun and mingle help yourselves! It is a party afterall.

"The building beneath him."

Yeah, that's it, he's rapelling down the side of the building in plain view. Of course. That's how I usually get down from the roof. I would NEVER use, say, the stairs...

An assassin on another building would almost certainly not notice his passage through the inside of the buiolding, especially considering that there is a massive security risk, in the form of the crowd of paparazzi surging around the front of the restaurant that is just as likely to hold a killer. Besides, isn't our friend armored against bullets? They'd worry about a close-range strike more.

I was tryng to picture the movement, I live in Arizona, I tend to picture buildings as Adobe :)

What is he sitting on/in? A window, a balconey a lower roof?

The paparazzi are a cocern, which is why he has his own agents(unarmed harper monks)imbeddedin the crowd.

I will edit the post if you can give me a little detail about the surroundings. Otherwise, I just assumed him moved from one balconey r windowsil to another on a lower evel.

He's inside a room, man. A room. I don't think your mage would have spotted him, seeing as he was INSIDE. It's his job not to be seen.

How does he have a shot then? A window? He may not be visible to his victims, but in order to see his target he must be able to be seen from some angle or another. Which is why Dalamar is on a rooftop.

Hew may be able to see such window shooters.

And what about the second sniper? Is his movement unnoticed?

His is behind a window. Probably a small, grungy one. It's possible Dalamar would notice him, but it's unlikely- and there's a 50% chance the guy he sees will be the second sniper.

Adobe, you picture buildings made out of adobe. Well get that image out of your head, in fact, replace it with this image:
Image
Today we use glass, steel, aluminum. They would certainly not be using adobe in the future, on earth, in a major city.

*shrug*

We see in our minds that to which we are accustomed. I see many adobe and stucco buildings... Gnerally dont get couruscant images...

I pictured the place as a small Indian establishment in a sort of courtyard/kiosk. Maybe sme residential buildings etc etc...

You have aslo lived places other than Arizona and the cold desolate wasteland of Alaska.

I just pictured the place as a bit smaller. A family owned business in an upperclass suburb

Andorra is a european city, which probably means attractive, 4-5 story buildings (with presumably ornate, impressive rooftops.)

Alternatively, we are looking at arcologies, depends on how Straha wants it to be.

I did think... I just thought smaller, though, it does depend on how Straha wants the city. It is European, and as Thirdfain said, could be closer to what I described than to a massive couruscant like setting.

No I've just lived in back water small towns like Jacksonvill and Penyan lets not forget guam either. basicly everwhere i've lived there arent buildings more than 2 sometimes 3 stories high. They are right dude think down town Phoenix if nothing else we have many buildings well over 10 stories there even in some of the really "nice" areas.

I've decided that my whole business premise was faulty. It's just that, when I thought abouti it, a business would only be interesting if it were doing dirty business. An example would be RayCav's RCE doing business with the Mafiosi. The problem is, i'm too idealistic to create something that likes to get too dirty. In such cases, the only interesting thing would be a nation, which can get into conflicts with states that are less than savory, attempt diplomatic negotiations, etc. An even-handed business is just kinda dull  . I'm seriously thinking about leaving it be, and creating an actual *state*, something that can mix it up with all the blood states and evil empires, negotiate with various powers, run intelligence agencies, etc. Right now, I'm thinking of an extremely multispecies republic (i'm thinking in the hundreds of species, basically most of the Star Trek and Star Wars races plus the non-evil LOTR races, plus a myriad of mixed-race). Such a nation would be a serious power, at the edge of known space, and be highly idealistic, but not enough to prevent use of intelligence, for espionage and setting/supporting slave revolts and stuff like that.

Should I stick with what I have, or toss it and do the other idea, operate both, do neither and get out of STGOD, or do something else entirely?

I'd be fine with it. Not like your current power has done that much, and it's not like you fucked up your nation and you're trying to hit the RESET button.

Besides, it'd detract from all our experiences if you were unhappy with the power you control.

No, I'm buying the gold, no need for a loan.

Oh yes, no doubt. But down is sort of relative, if the merchants start off at extremely obscene prices and are haggled down to only obscenely high prices it looks good to the peasents, and to my merchants.

You know, Aly, that is a whole lot of meta-gaming to suddenly come to that conclusion in five minutes, especially when we have a perfectly good reason to be buying the gold.

Further more how do you know those were military transports at all? The big ships losing/gaining mass I can get, but spotting cloaked transports with a casual glance when it is clearly stated in my OOB that you have to be looking for these transports with a fine toothed comb to find them?

You noticed the telepath didnt you?

A telepathic scan is very telling. Unless you are telling me that the person we are talking to, did not know anything about it.

You may be buying said gold, we have no problem with that. But by selling above the market price yu wuld deflate our currency.
