i found SB.com because of it´s cool fan animations. i didn´t like the message boards there because they´re too conservative but i read them occasionally anyways. there was one poster who was supposed to get banned because of something. mike made a post there saying that on his board folks won´t get banned that easily but be fitted with a special title. that sounded interesting so i checked out SD.net.
best place i´ve ever found because it´s fun, educating and there are bunch of folks who are smart enough to help me with uni projects when i have engeneering or similar questions.

Well, I found SD.Net because of Larz, who heard of it from someone else. This was also the second BB that I joined. I joined because from what I saw, it looked interesting, and even though I rarely enter the scifi forums, I still participate very much in discussions elsewhere throughout the board (which you can tell by my postcount on my other account).

Now, though, it's the one I frequent the most, and have the most fun on. I've had many, many debates here, and have vastly improved my skills with such over the past year and a half. There are a good many people here whom have helped me through severe depressions and a few whom I consider extremely close friends.

I've learned more about the sci-fi universes than I ever would have had I not been a part of this board (even though that isn't much, it's still more than I'd have learned elsewhere).

I've enjoyed being a part of this community, both as a member, as well as a moderator.

I converted.

Oh, and once I was IMing my ex, and asking him what he was doing.
He said he was debating with Christians, and had I seen stardestroyer.net.

I didn't relaise that he wasn't on the forum.
By then it was too late.

1st contact with SD.net, before the forums comes from my own surfing when I was looking at SW tech and how it is justified.

Sometimes after that, I became an SBer and learned about this 3vil m1ke w0ng that messes up trekkies and visited SD.net occationally for VS debate data.

Than the "SD.net makes forum" thread showed up on SB, and thus I'm here, though it is probably possible that I'll be directed here by apolyton civ off topic forums eventually if I never joined SB.

I only have a sock puppet because recently I had problems losing all access to this account when MSN shut down one of my e-mail addresses ad the board forced me to change my password *at the same time.*

So to prevent further possible issues, I have a separate account just in case something happens.
