What brought you to SD.net? And what do you think of SD.net?

Wayne Poe's site brought me here. I went there from SWTC. I love this site, and this board. It rocks.

Came to the website in '98, and I jumped at the chance to join the board when it opened up. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to post as much as other three-star-generals, but I'm trying.

My sister told me about this place & had me keep the females updated on her while she was out of contact. Somehow the place grew on me, and I believe it's the only message board where a church has been founded in my name. And of course I also enjoy my following of young virgin males..

I came to this site around spring of 2002, and joined this forum a few days after I started. I came in as a bit whiny, more concerned with padding my post cound than making a point... ...and I haven't changed one bit.
Anyway, I'd say this is a good place, I've learned some things, some of them I acually wanted to know, we're less tolerant of trolls, spammers, and people who sP3Ak1n l13K t1H5!!!111
My only complaint is all the time I'm losing from posting on these forums.

I was arguing over the existance of God on a forum for policy debaters when some guy named Mlsna sent me a PM saying I might like this place.
That must have been almost a year ago. Unfortunately, with just my crappy hotmail address, I couldn't register, so I lurked for a while, and followed links to some Christian message boards where I passed the time arguing.
About a month ago I realized I actually did have a legit email address that came free with my cable service, so I finally got around to registering. It feels weird to actually be able to post.
This board is good, for it burns with a fire that purges the stupid.
Oh, and if whoever was the Mlsna who pm'd me on cross-x.com (as ignotus) is reading this, hello and thanks. You did me a good turn.

I found this site back when IGN was cool..on one of their sci-fi boards there was a ST vs SW debate, and one of the Trekkies said "I go over to sd.net for a good laugh".
This was when I was in college...for some reason I didn't even know there was a forum until Febuaryish of '03

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

I'm not entirely sure how I got here (I think I got drunk at another site and someone dragged me back here to sleep it off), but I think DITL had something to do with it. A site I love for its comprehensiveness if not its total lack of realism.
SDnet's okay, but not great enough that I should post here as much as I do. And I do see some irrationality in some debates. More than I expect.

And i blame my BF for introducing me to this place and forever sullying & scarring my mind. But it's fun since I get to have a following of young virgin males.
Well, you're kinda like me. Except I decided to build an idol in Mike's image BECAUSE he was an asshole.PrinceofLowLight wrote:My friend sent me a link to the Sci-fi Space Combat rules back in 2000. Read the Creationism site "I SHALL BUILD A GRAVEN IDOL IN THIS MAN'S IMAGE!"

Boredom brought me here, and boredom keeps me here. Happy?
“There are two kinds of people in the world: the kind who think it’s perfectly reasonable to strip-search a 13-year-old girl suspected of bringing ibuprofen to school, and the kind who think those people should be kept as far away from children as possible … Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between drug warriors and child molesters.” - Jacob Sullum

When i first got the internet back in the very late 90's I had been running a search for pictures of an ISD, this brought me to Mike's media section. I downloaded the desktops and read the site, most of it way above me i'll admit but the hate mail kept me amused. Then a few years ago i'd lost all the data in mt HD and i was replacing it and i noticed a BBS had been added and i signed up. It was actually SD.Net that helped me exit my closet, Einy in particular.

This place is by far my favorite board. I found out about it from Yuri Prime, who I know from when I used to frequent Kgivler.
I just love the whole...bluntness, for lack of better words, of everyone here. There's very few topics that have been left untouched by SDN, no matter how gross or rude. I've also gained many AIM friends from here. I've been corrupted so badly it's not ever fixable, but Iwouldn't have it any other way.

I came to this place... somehow. I was searching for Star Wars pictures, I beileve. I immediately came to love it. Some of my best friends are here. I've learned more from SDNet in a year than I learned in the past 5 in school. I.... there's no real words for the awesomeness that is SDNet, other than what has already been said.
