Casshern was originally an anime series, a pretty old one. There was an anime movie made based on it as well, that's the only thing I've seen related to it. From what I remember it's basically about these robots that were originally built for some great humanitarian purpose but instead turned on the human race and enslaved them. The main character, Tetsuya, is the son of the scientist who built many of the robots, who became a cyborg himself after his parents were killed to fight for humanity against the robots.
