On the contrary, my weapons are so small scale because they are covert weapons. I think it's totally reasonable to have technological antimagic weapons equivelent in effect to EMP bombs- they would only hurt your toughest creatures at short range, but would defang a whole bunch of your lesser troops- same as EMP bombs would di if this attack consisted of Ouster powerarmor.

Pshaw. If you had played in the old days on ASVS, you'd know something about us dudes who played at the time: we plot the moves in the STGODs in character (which, nine times out of ten is devious anyway ), even the out-of-game plans. If it doesn't make sense for the Overseer and the Ousters to make a deal, then Nitram didn't make a deal with Thirdfain. That's how I see it, and it goes for me as well

Anyway, enough subjective analysis. Let's apply straight logic. Let's see a few things that are well known in the intergalactic news--
1) The Arcane Empire is off-balance diplomatically and politically. They've got several nations jockeying for position with them, they've made a few serious missteps (particularly with regards towards Monacora, *hint hint*), and they're facing trouble in their annexed territories.
2) The Arcane Empire is reeling from Raistlin Majere's assassination and the concurrent slaying of a hapless photojournalist.
3) The Rape of Terra is the hot button issue of the moment.

Now, the Overseer knows all these things just from eavesdropping on publicly broadcasted news. It also fears and hates magic users and happens to be a hell of an opportunist. Beginning to make sense?

Taking pictures is not a crime. However nt making yourself known to the police, hiding yourself, and using flash photography is a very good way to get yourself killed or arrested when dealing with heads of state.

DO you thinka secret service agent who accidentally kills a photographer who hid himself from scrutiny, evaded detection, and then took pictures using flash photography(which IIRC is not allowed) while the president was being shot... would be charged wth murder? Hell no.

As to the legal coucil, memory from the discovery channel a while back, couldnt remember the program if I tried. However I am looking up the specifics now.

For the record, while some metagaming is sadly unavoidable, the sheer level or rampant metagaming some people are currently involved in is, well, disturbing.

All that the current level of metagaming is doing for the game is making so that any surprises have to be hidden and declared through PM or AIM in order to actually work, as some people refuse to make a distinction between in-game and out of character knowledge. This isn't fair, and if it continues, I suspect the game will die a slow, painful death, as nothing can ever be done one way or another.

When I started this game, Dahak did something which could have been a move to intentionally piss me off OOC. Had I been playing like some people are now, I would now be at war with Dahak, or at least on unfavorable terms with him. However, in-game happenings have changed that. Currently I am on neutral terms with him, and potentially favorable in the future, depending on how things go. I wouldn't be open to such things if I was rampantly metagaming and looking for a way to get back at him for the terrible thing he did (which, to be honest, I had little reason to know about in game anyway).

I'm just saying that past a certain point of technological development, there is no way that simple video footage can constitute solid evidence. Logically this problem should escalate until only telepaths are able to get to the truth, and if the telepaths can't be trusted, then the entire system falls apart.

But if your objective is to get me to obliterate the Arcane Empire, I will give the matter all due consideration, after I have cleansed your cancer from the universe. If the Arcanes are silly enough to mind-control any of my people, then they will move up on the target list, as they at least will be easier to find.

Secondly, his point wasn't so much hiding himself as getting a good vantage point for pictures so he didn't have to deal with the growing crowd below. Where did I state that he had avoided police attention, or that he was deliberately avoiding being seen by officials. He wanted to keep the other newshounds from his position so he could have exclusive pictures!
