80p per litre, so its about (give or take) £4 per gallon here... which again is about $7 USD- Extortion is what it is.MKSheppard wrote:

How the hell do you people afford that?Jon wrote:80p per litre, so its about (give or take) £4 per gallon here... which again is about $7 USD- Extortion is what it is.MKSheppard wrote:

Extensive public transit options, higher population densities limiting how far you need to drive when public transit doesn't take you there.Hamel wrote:How the hell do you people afford that?Jon wrote:80p per litre, so its about (give or take) £4 per gallon here... which again is about $7 USD- Extortion is what it is.MKSheppard wrote:

Jesus dude, I'm paying $2.30 and when I went through LA it was like $2.50 a gallon.RedImperator wrote:It just topped $1.80 a gallon here. Probably the cheapest in the United States. Nevertheless, I'm glad I get 30mpg highway.
Car-related taxes are now so high that I believe it's more than just the government exploiting an easy source of revenue. I believe someone has decided there's too many cars - and, although I'm a total car addict, I admit that there could be some validity to this view. Anyway the objective appears to be to tax the private car out of existence.jon wrote: Why is Petrol this expensive.
Not to mention smaller, less potent and/or more efficient cars.RedImperator wrote:Extensive public transit options, higher population densities limiting how far you need to drive when public transit doesn't take you there.Hamel wrote:How the hell do you people afford that?Jon wrote: 80p per litre, so its about (give or take) £4 per gallon here... which again is about $7 USD- Extortion is what it is.
1) Prices are going up in the US as well.Jon wrote:I hated them before, I hate them even more. Why is Petrol this expensive. I need to bitch, I mean- 80p per litre!!!! BASTARDS, at least 60p if not more of that is government tax alone. Then we have to pay in excess of £120 Road Tax per year, and then extortionate insurance prices... (im young... £1400 per year, on a clapped out, but reliable Ford fiesta).
