Unfortunately, the radio drama does say that the trip was made via sublight.

Is this true??? Because this scenario would be... ludicrous at best. For one, Bespin and Hoth would be at spitting distance of each other (and the travel would have needed several months at least and I don't think that the Falcon carries enough foodstuff for such a long travel). For two, the Rebel Alliance would have installed one of its main bases next to one of the main sources of tibanna gas for the Empire. For last, Boba Fett is an idiot if he followed someone several months via subspace without asking the Imps for help.

The common assumption is that Bespin is in the Anoat system, and that the MF piggybacked on the Avenger while the task force searched several star systems for her, finally detatching at Anoat before the flotilla dispersed.

maybe "She can make .5 past light speed" refers to the sublight engines?

Is there any specific reason to dispute the SW.com Databank on this issue? I realize it's thrown together by hacks and classified EU at best, but I would assume that it has more credibility than speculation.
Bespin is the principal planet in the Bespin system, located just off the Corellian Trade Spine, in the Ison Corridor. Among the other worlds orbiting Bespin's star are Miser, Orin and the Velser's Ring asteroid belt. A gaseous planet with billowy, pink and purple clouds, the planet Bespin lies far from most commercial traffic, and is close to the barren Anoat system.
Of course, 'system' does not necessarily refer to to solar system, and we needn't necessarily assume that Bespin system is several lightyears from Anoat. Is there any evidence that Bespin/Anoat isn't a binary star system?

1. How does one fight in FTL when Warp Drives have been shown not to do so?

2. How do escape gravity field when warp drives have once again shown not to escape something as light as a Dyson Sphere's gravity well?
1.When the E-D was trying to escape the Cube it the First Contact with the Borg, didnt they fire photorps from the aft tube while the cube fired energy depleting shots at the shields?

2.The dyson sphere didnt pull the E-D out of warp...the E-D encountered gravimetric shear only after Picard ORDERED the helmsman to drop out of warp.

BTW...if we can accept the premise of Hypermatter=Omega Particles, then enough accidents could very well compel the intragalactic community to search for non-subspace FTL tech.

This was done because the Borg were traveling at relativly the same speed. You cant fight a person who is going thousands of times faster than you. Also, to my knowledge, the Feds have never engaged a non FTL target while they themselves are traveling faster then light.

I do believe there could be several tactical uses of the warp drive; warp drive at fractions of c (ST TMP) allow superior sub-light performance, particularly if it may be assumed the Empire is capable of expanding on warp drive tech even a little, and perhaps most important: mass-lightening. Just imagine how maneuverable an ISD may be, with its uber power generation and engines, if it masses say 50%, 20%, 10%... Or how about a starfighter  . Star Trek is less powerful by a lot, but the tech they do have is hardly without value.

I recall seeing combat at warp speeds in several Star Trek episodes. For example in "Dreadnaught" Voyger fought a Cardassian Dreadnaught while travelling at warp 9.

However in all these cases both ships were travelling at warp speeds. I am not sure if a ship travelling at warp could attack a target that is not warp.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

A Photon torpedo has warp sustainer engines...it is designed to impact a target at FTL speeds.

Can't a photorp be launched from a vessel going at FTL?

Photon torpedoes can be launched at warp speed. For example Voyger fired five photon torpedoes Equinox in the episode "Equinox". However both ships were travelling at warp speed.
