The Combine Armada emerged from hyperspace over the siliconoid embassy. Huge scars crossed the planet, caused by the Arcane bombardment. The Fleet quickly formed up, taking stock of everything that had happened. Quick scans revealed the presence of both Arcane and Monacoran ships orbiting the moon base, with Arcane troops on the way out with Monacorans on the way in.
On the bridge, Leego Diama cursed. Again, late for the party. The machines had burrowed too deep for orbital bombardment to be of any use. He sighed and sat back in his command chair. His mind was working furiously. He had been deep in thought since the ship had entered hyperspace. This deep in Arcane territory, confronting a siliconoid threat. Something did not add up here.
"Sir, I think you should see this." The communications officer gestured to his console. Leego Diama stood up and walked over to the comm board, lit up with general transmission data. Messages were coming in from all major powers, debating the siliconoid presence in Arcane space. The question on everyone's lips seemed to be, "Were the Arcanists allied with the siliconoids?"
Leego rocked back on his heels, whistling. Suddenly, the thing that had been bugging him became clear. It was so obvious. The Aracnists were in collusion with the siliconoids all along!
"Helm, bring us about. Deploy the fleet. The Arcanists are allied with the Siliconoids. This makes them our enemy."
"Sir, look at this. The Arcanists are issuing an explanation. They claim that they did not have the available power to eliminate the siliconoid threat before this point."
"Really? Give me a scan of the moon." A readout was brought up quickly. It showed complete destruction of the siliconoid facility, on the surface and several layers down. Diama smelled bullshit. If they hadn't had the power before, why was their elimination of the complex so complete now? They had obviously had the power the whole time. Those damn mages were trying to bluff their way out of this, but they wouldn't succeed. He had a contract to uphold. The siliconoids must be destroyed.
"Comm, open a channel to the Arcanists."
"It's up, sir."
"Arcanist command, this is Fleet Commander Leego Diama. You can say whatever you want, it won't do any good. We know that you have been allied with the siliconoids since before the Rape. Immediately turn over all information you have on the siliconoids, including the location of their primary base. Failure to do so will force us to consider you hostile, allies of our enemy. If you will not give us the imformation we need to hunt the siliconoid menace, we will extract it from you. You have 10 minutes to comply. End transmission."
Leego turned to his comm officer. "Send reports to everyone who suspects the Arcanists... Ravenlock, Ousters, Monacora, whoever. Tell them we have had enough politics and are moving to eliminate the threat. Send aid to Arcane space as quickly as possible. The sooner we deal with the mages, the sooner the siliconoids will be ours. Deploy the fleet."
High over the Arcane homeworld, the Krell Aramda deployed. 500 escorts formed a defensive shield. 40,000 drones deployed from characters. Missile frigates locked onto orbital targets and Wall cruisers moved to protect the Lances. Shields up. Weapons online. The Arcanists had 10 minutes to respond.

Temesvar
Estate of the Grand Prince
Elanie brooded. She was hungry, and had been so for hours, but her training shunted away the call of basic instinct for a few moments.
What was that? What is Basil? Was that... what I am?
It had been indescribably strange, so far from what the Unbound saw as reality. Until yesterday, she hadn't even believed in souls. Now, she had seen something which could not be described by the Natural Laws, precepts spawned by Darwin and Newton, and embellished upon and improved over the centuries. The things she had seen, her own lack of pulse, spat in the face of what she knew. It wasn't even magic- Elanie still knew how to feel the Field which the mages manipulated, and she couldn't feel it's effects now.
She frowned- she had even kept on breathing while practicing earlier, only to find she could do just as well without.
The blood lord's metaphysical foolishness appeared to be true. There was something else, something which lived beyond the sheer physical life which the Unbound were taught was of utmost importance. Where the Shapers wrong? Is there more to existence than the briefness of physical life? Is the Diaspora a fool's errand?
She was by nature a straightforewards person in some respects, accepting the "party line" and fighting for th Hajr regardless, slaying humans when necessary, and smiling at her success for the expansion of the only true civilization.
Now, there were more questions in her head than ever before, and they were aimed at non-physical, non-touchable problems, ones she could not solve with a combination of clever words and a silent knife in the dark.
She shook her head, clearing them of such thoughts. Wasting time on motives would only pollute the purity of action. All this meant was that she would have add another dimension to her plans. The playing field was expanded, but the game was the same.
The assassin turned her thoughts back towards what Basil had said.
Your new mind can not only see, but also percieve and process the additional dimensions. You can use what you percieve to your advantage.
Right. Ok. Then, if there is another dimension to all lives, then perhaps Basil's powers, and his vulnerabilities, lie not in the mundane, but in... but in...
Elanie grimaced. She was distracted. She couldn't put two and two together. She couldn't focus.
What is happening to me?
Her eyes lost focus, and she slumped to her knees.
It rose out of her subconscious like a primordial creature, shouldering aside the conditioned walls, and flooding her mind.
It was hunger. Ravenous, all-consuming hunger. She had ignored the pangs for hours now, assuming that iron self control would tide her over until Basil suggested she eat. Now, it was surging through her, turning conscious thought aside and setting the Hajr's beloved ideal of Id free.
Faster metabolism in life... Basil should have guessed....
In Basil's office, he was interrupted by his Majordomo.
"Lord, urgent news. The Ousters just released a press statement that they would consider any shot fired at the Krell a shot against their own vessels. They have mobilized a portion of the fleet, we believe their second War Clust..."
His sentence was interrupted by a bloodcurdling scream, echoing through the halls- from the direction of the room where Elanie was quartered.
-ooc- Ousters need to eat a lot more than humans. While of course the metabolic reasons are now gone, I am working under the assumption that it is enough a part of her psyche that her "soul" requires more feeding than a human-base Vampire would.

It is the expressed opinion of the Homeworld Senate and the Baeloaren people that the Machines are the opponents of all life in the galaxy. The Commonwealth considers the actions of the Krell Combine legitimate, and supports its actions fully.
1st Baeloaren Expeditionary Fleet:
1 Hive Carrier
3 Ship of the Line Dreadnaughts (Lead by the Infallible)
3 Homeworld Battlecrusiers
5 Classic Heavy Cruisers
6 Patrician Cruisers
6 Megaron Destroyers
50 Republic Frigates
125 Escort Corvettes
1st Baeloaren Expeditionary Fleet has been rerouted from escort duty to near Arcane Territory.
Sol
The escorts of the Baeloaren constructor convoy left, leaving the Monacoran escorts to complete the journey from the edge of Sol to Earth. Constructor ships hauling miles of archology parts make their way towards earth, within a week the buildings would be ready for inhabitance, and just in time, as conditions on Earth worsen.

Veithan Space
VNN Headquarters
The information which flooded back to VNN headquarters was nearly overwhelming, from the assassination of the arcane council member to the killing of the GCN reporter as well as the allegations of Arcane collusion with the hated Siliconoids. It seemed as if the galaxy itself held its breath beneath current events and VNN prepared itself to offer a newscast that would present the facts as well as a bit of opinion into the galaxy at large as well as the Veithan populace. All available data was considered and analyzed, a trend emerging among the VNN analysts.
Monacoran Space
Sol System
The Veithan fifth fleet had remained in the Sol system since its original assignment. It had done little more than exist there, offering occasional assistance to any vessel that required it but mindful of the fact that it was currently well within Monacoran sovereignty. In this manner, Admiral Stone made it a point to be as polite and courteous to his Monacoran counter parts as possible. He did not wish to burn any bridges behind him and part of the reason why his ships were in the system to begin with was to work with the Monacorans in the first place. The Veithan presence in the Sol System had grown to a point where it was substantial. Veithan hospital ships still orbited the wounded home world of humanity, Veithan cargo ships still delivered goods while others attempted to save as much of the dying animal life as possible.
The orders that arrived from fleet command were instantly received through the secure communications network of the flagship. The signal itself would have been undetectable utilizing point to point communications. The information was carried to Admiral Stone’s neural implants, the only outward sign displayed at the importance of the information being a sharp intake of breath. His orders were carried out mentally to his flagship and then the rest of the fleet. The fifth fleet awoke like a sleeping dragon, a channel opened to Monacoran system control in order to bring up to their attention the fact that they were moving. The fifth fleet accelerated gracefully, ships maintaining their cohesion easily as they moved. The fifth fleet in its entirety submerged into hyperspace. Its vector suggesting that it was moving towards Arcane Space.
Veithan Space
Veitha III
The Veithan people were by and large relatively peaceful more than willing to focus inwards when the need arose. Patience was something that the average Veithan did not lack, and part of the reason why Veithan colonies tended to be among the most productive in known space. Since the beginning of the deterioration of galactic affairs, the Empire had begun to focus inwards. The need to expand was a constant, but without the will to do so or perhaps being unwilling to do so it had begun to focus in its colonies. Some of the money that had been received from various deals with local powers and arm sales had been channeled into the Veithan colonies. It was a long term move, but one that made sense to the government and the people. Beneath the infusion of funds and the slow but steady take over of the luxury good market away from the Arcane Empire, Veithan colonies were starting to grow at a phenomenal rate.
The general order which came from the government was met with surprise by many planetary governors and aspects of the Veithan military. The Veithan armed forces were to move to their highest level of readiness. It was highly unusual, and almost always a prelude to hostilities. The shock did not last long however. The Veithan military was professional and well trained, and within an hour of the request having been received the Veithan Empire braced itself. Planetary defenses were brought to full readiness, shields fully powered and weapons charged. Planetary based defenses were activated and planetary shields as well as theater shields were prepared for activation at a moment’s notice. The Veithan Empire was prepared, and that realization would be a potent signal to any that were wise enough and observant enough to pay attention.
Even as everything began to take its course, Veithan diplomats approached their arcane counterparts within the Empire and initiated discussions pertaining to the allegations of collusion between arcane forces and the Siliconoids. The death of Magdalena Hyrt was still fresh in the minds of many, if the arcane representatives did not satisfy the Veithan government’s desires to know more about the connections, when VNN aired the story public opinion would plummet to levels that until now could not be possible. The fallen secretary of state was viewed by many within the Empire as a martyr of almost religious proportions. If the people felt that there was a credible connection between the Arcane Empire and those that took her life…relations between the Veithans and the Arcanists would quite possibly collapse. It would be something that even the government would not be able to easily rectify. It was a situation best avoided if at all possible.

All previous dealings aside, your latest behavior in dealing with the Siliconoid menace is inexcusable. As of this moment, you are to be treated as a threat against sentience. Your words ring hollow against your blatant acts of genocide and other crimes against sentience. It is strongly suggested that you stand down your military forces and comply with all attempts by Monacoran-aligned forces if you wish to maintain good will with the rest of known space. Full disclosure is in your best interests. Noncompliance will result in your status being made that of an actively hostile power.

Set course towards Arcanist Space, following coordinates. Hold at that position until a friendly calls for help. Then unleash hell. These Arcanists are unpredictable. We’re hoping over here that they back down, but given the way they’re acting, they really could be involved with those damn ‘mechs. Naturally, if you see any mechs on the screens, go to town.
Good luck.

The Verdandi and her accompanying ships swallowed out of wormhole space a good four light seconds off the Silicoid former embassy.
They were fully battle-ready, gravitic and normal shields up, ECM and EW at full power.
The sensors immeadiately picked up the Krell fleet, and all the other hubub around the embassy.
"This is Her Imperial Majesty's Battle Carrier Verdandi under command of Vice Admiral Liv Tjoerhom. We are here to investigate Arcane collusion with Silicoids. We demand full disclosure on all information you have. We urge you to comply."
Veithan Space, Veithan III
Crown Prince Jorn smiled, and walked with the President. He was unused to such free spaces, but he managed to hide it.
What did get his interest was the apparant lack of geneering. Some of the people they walked past looked old. It was something totally new. He never saw someone that old, physically. But those aren't us, he had to remind himself.
"I look forward to our discussion. My mother really has high hopes for it."

"If we were allied with them we would turn over said information. Purely out of a sense of slef-preservation. Unfortunatly, we are the victims of an elaborate ploy by them to essentially earscrew us. So no information will be forthcoming. Again, had we been allied with them, it would have been declared."Arcanist command, this is Fleet Commander Leego Diama. Immediately turn over all information you have on the siliconoids, including the location of their primary base. Failure to do so will force us to consider you hostile, allies of our enemy. "What information do we have?"
"The Arcanists appear to have been working with the Silliconoids."
"Why? As far as we can tell, the Silliconoids objectives are to exterminate all organic life, including the Arcanists."
"Mabye they cut a deal to save their own asses?"
"It's possible. I want all of our deep cover intelligence operatives inside the Arcane Empire to go active. Find out if they killed Rastilin to cover this up."
The emperor's voice lowered to insure that he would not be heard outside of the room.
"And I wan't several intellgence teams inserted into Monacoarn space. Find out if It was a rogue military operative acting with his balls instead of his brains."
"What are we going to do about the situation in the Arcane home system?"
"Are the first and third fleets still on standby near Carulan's moon?"
"Yes."
"Then deploy them immediatly. They are there to act as peacekeepers. They will not fire unless fired upon first. Understood?"

Toril Orbit
The entirety of the R'hlloran fleet broke out of lightspeed a mere 10,000 kilometers from Toril, weapons charged and shields up. Fighters immediately spread out, probing every cubic inch of space for signs of danger, while the lighter capital ships formed a picket line to protect the core of the fleet. Onboard the command ship Argus Blade, Thauglor initialized a joint scanning array with the other ships, sweeping the system, while opening a channel to the Arcanists. Arcanists forces and leadership, you will explain the recent events regarding the Overseer forces and yourselves. The R'hlloran Confederacy is pledged to defeating the Overseer and it's allies. If we find you have and are still aiding them, you will be destroyed.
OOC: My entire fleet, sans 10 fighter squadrons, are in system.

Onboard the Unreliable Savant, nearing Veithan fleet
Grey Worm opened a channel to the Veithan flagship. Greetings, Veithan allies. I am Grey Worm of the R'hlloran External Security Corps. My masters have sent me to aid you in the hunt for these elusive Siliconoids, if you will allow me. I shall hold position here until you give me passage.

"What proof do you have that the Silliconoids are allied with the Arcanists?"
"Admiral, i'm getting sensor readings from the "Embassy" There's more silliconoids down there."
"Attention all vessels. There are still silliconoids on their "Embassy" perhaps we should ask them what is going on?"

"I want marine transports deployed on the double. Move the fleet into a blockade position around the asteroid. Nothing gets off that base."

Office of the President, Nashtar
"My God... How? This isn't possible. The Arcanists assist the Overseer?" President Major stared in shock at the screen. "This can't be real. The Arcanists don't even have camera technology; how could they plot in front of one?" He looked at the aide who brought in the tapes and initial reactions of the other powers. "Send to Pinnacle. Fifth Fleet is to proceed for Toril at once to ensure that no rash actions are taken by any side until this is thoroughly investigated. A knee jerk reaction to this could fling the entire galaxy into war, just as we need to hold against the Overseer. Prepare a press briefing. I have a statement to make."
Presidential Press Room
President Major walked out to the podium as cameras snapped away from the gathered press. He set his speech on the podium, cleared his throat, and began to speak.
"I'm sure we've all heard the allegations against the Arcane Empire by now, that they are allegedly allied with the Overseer siliconoids in secret and plotted in the Rape of Terra. After analysis of the supporting evidence and the circumstances surrounding the accusations, NRI and the federal investigation services have come to several conclusions.
"First, the primary evidence for this link is tapes that seem to show Raistlin Majere plotting with a Siliconoid about the best time to initiate the Rape of Terra. There are several things wrong with this.
First and foremost, tapes are easily forged. If a forgery is done well enough, it can be difficult for even the most advanced analysis techniques to uncover the fake.
"Second, the sole source for the recordings is a Siliconoid embassy that was under attack by Arcane forces, hardly the action of an ally.
"Third, this source is even more suspect because the Overseer has a vested interest in destroying the Arcane Empire and turning the nations of the galaxy at large against each other. This is a little too convenient for the machines, and given that the machines are the source, the only witness and provider of evidence has a demonstrable conflict of interest when it comes to truthfulness in this matter.
"Fourth, it is common knowledge by now that the Overseer wishes to destroy all organic life. It is not in its nature to make alliances with organic life, and no sane organism knowing of its objective, as the Arcane Empire did, would assist it in any way.
"Fifth, the tapes depict Raistlin Majere. As demonstrated by his and his guards' actions prior to his assassination, Raistlin was a highly paranoid individual. Our analysts believe that he would not meet with the Machines on their own territory, and if he did then he certainly would not record incriminating evidence, particularly not such blatant evidence as this. As the Arcanians do not possess camera technology, they could not have made the tapes; therefore the supposed meeting had to have taken place on Siliconoid ground, where Majere would not go.
"Sixth, the Arcanian head of state, Karsus XV, was present on Earth during the Siliconoid attack. I personally saw him, talked with him, shook his hand. He would not have come had his government even suspected an attack, much less actively planned one.
"Seventh, even discounting the strong disincentive against working with the Overseer, the Arcane Empire had and has no motive for attacking Earth or Monacora. Such an action would be the height of insanity.
"The current position of the Republic's intelligence services is that the evidence in no way conclusively proves that the Arcane Empire planned the attacks or worked with the Overseer, and furthermore that there is strong reason to believe that the tapes are fabricated.
"In light of this, Fifth Fleet has been dispatched for Toril to ensure that violence does not break out on circumstantial evidence. The government of the Republic of Nashtar calls on the nations of the galaxy to consider the evidence rather than taking immediate rash action, and reminds them that we must not allow ourselves to fall into war amongst ourselves, rendering us all easy pickings for the Siliconoids. Please direct questions through the Press Office; I cannot take questions at this time."
Pinnacle
The fleet was constantly on the move, it seemed. The Gold crews were called up, replacing the Blue rotation that had seen such heavy duty, before Fifth Fleet set out for Toril. A few hours after the President's speech, the fleet entered hyperspace for Arcanian territory.

Stand down! Stand Down!
From: Lord Protector Sir Joshua Mattews
To: All concerned powers
The Arcane Empire has committed a serve breach of behavior. I suggest that both sides stand down. United Protectrates personnal will be sent as inspectors for the purpose of bringing all information on Arcane Dealings with Machines to light.
We will work with the Monacorans to see what if any role the Arcanes had in the Machines actions. Any violence between us only aides the Machines and weakens us against any futhur action against them.

Stand down you nuts, you're about to plunge all of know space into a shooting that it can ill afford. Have you lost your damn minds?
You must come clean over this. We will ensure that the other powers do not not use this as an excuse to take advantage of you, but you must stand down NOW!

Diama shook his head. More politics, more maneuvering. "An elaborate ploy?" Please. These Arcanists would do anything to save their own asses. But it wouldn't work this time. The Krell needed any information on the siliconoids, and they would get it.Alyrium Denryle wrote:"If we were allied with them we would turn over said information.
Do what you all will to us, we are innocent of any crime and the afterlife will reflect that."
"Shields up"
"Sir, sensors show the Arcanists powering up shields and weapons systems. Looks like they are going to fight."
"Roger that. What is the reaction of the other powers thus far?"
"Many powers are dispatching ships to the Toril system. We have Baeloreans, Ravenlock, Ousters, Nashtar, KSE..."
"Send a message to all ships on incoming vectors. Tell them that we are fully justified in our actions. If they wish to help us, let them know they are free to do so. Warn any others to keep away... this is none of their business. What is the earliest that a ship will arrive?"
"Ravenlock, coming out of Earth. Should be here in 95 minutes."
"More than enought time. Move into attack formation."
_____________________________________________________________
The Krell ships accelerated towards the Arcane ships, slowly reassembling themselves into a wall of battle to counter the Krell. Harleys led the way, streaking towards the Arcane lines at top speeds. When the Harley sensors registered weapons locking onto them, the pilots quicly peeled away. Arcanist gunners were aiming towards the jinking, retreating targets as the rest of the Combine fleet advanced towards them.
40,000 drones surged forward into the enemy lines, targeting escorts. They died by the hundreds, but there were always more to take the place of the damaged drones. Escorts withered under the crippling fire of thousands of guns.
Krell missile frigates launched missiles, targeting cruisers. So far the Arcane capital ships were relatively untouched. The fleet moved ever closer as the capital ships came within range of each other and opened fire. Wall cruisers in teh front lines tried to absorb as much damage as they could, while blue collar escorts broke from their defensive screens to focus fire on the weakest ships to either finish them off or force them to throw up prismatic shields.
