The R'hlloran fleet spotted the fightning between the Arcanist and Jardanian ships, and responded by sending 4 squadrons of fighters and a dozen frigates to observe. The rest of the fleet held back, ready to respond if fighting escalated.

In Shi space, dozens of expeditions set out, to establish manufacturing centers on every viable unclaimed body within easy distance. These would secrete themselves underground as soon as possible, and work towards self-sufficiency. While the efficiency of these endeavors was no where near what the Machines could manage, they had the advantage of not having to work in utter secrecy. Let the damned Machines attempt to invade some tunnels for a change.

The R'hlloran forces made a clean sweep of the embassy, from top to bottom, while the assault shuttles dropped a dozen stationary guns in the area.

Karsus was in tears at this point... He would ahve to watch as his homeworld, and his people were conquered... Hopefully they would find refuge in the planes, and withdraw from this plane of exististance completely.

Hectori's hearts nearly "broke" at the these words, he knew that what karsus told him was true but his superiors had allready sworn allegance to the alliance to which both the united protectorates and the arcane belonged, and as a result he was allready involved.

he quickly exeted the room still filled with sadness at the first comm station he found he paged the new diplomat, the scientist and build team, as well as a few guards to the hanger. After closing the comm he and Lutris hurried to meet them with karsus following behind them at a timmid pace.

Whe they reached the hanger the landing team was allready assembled hectori spoke to them in atlantian stating simply "We have formed an agreement with several human nations and while these relations are not formal we must aid them as per our agreements. You will Remain here at New St. Paul and act as our diplomats" then turning to the new ambassador a yong female atlantian named Inia "You are to be our cheif diplomat in my absence, though your training has been rushed I feel you are ready" He then grabbe her face almost violently and begran to cry, it was a high pitched mournful cry that forced Karsus to wince. Then just as suddenly Hectori stopped and said to her this time in english "I have given you all the knowledge I have of these creatures please be strong and act with the will of the order"

he then hurried them all to the landing craft, one by one they dissapeard as they were ported on board he then turned to Karsus and said "Thank you my love Curse the order for forcing our time together to be so short but you must go with them it is where you are needed." As soon as he finished speaking she too vanished and the landing craft dropped out from under the carrier and entered orbit over New St. Paul.

Once back on the carrier he ordered the ship to rejoin the fleet as he sent a message to the planetary govenment "Thank you once more for you kindness, and though we are not yet formal allies we wish to help as though we were for that reason this carrier and the fleet must go to the aid of the Arcane. Remaining behind is our build team and our new ambassador Inia she will act in my place and awates your permission to land and begin constuction of our research station."

With that the carrier jumped out of system once more as Hectori collapesed on the floor in mental anguish as distance severed the last of the mental ties with his love.

Escourt ships, working like mini capitalships, took out the swarm of drones, their heavier weapons being able to take out multiple fighters with a single well timed sht.

Chain Disintegrate worked overtime, striking drones, then arcing off to hit multipl esecondar targets.

A second Boradside shunded, well aimed shots missing friendly ships, but decimating groups of enemy drones(look at it this way, it is like.... firing a broadside of cannonfire into a formation of rowboats, save that when they miss, they will not sink, but rather, ht whatever was behind them, and when they hit, they will keep going through the line)

The Arcane broadside ripped through the cheap Combine drones, creating holes in the forward defensive screen. Smaller arcane ships headed for the holes, trying to push through to the main Combine formation. The surviving drones turned to engage, swarming the escorts like they had done before. The fleet quickly restructured itself. Harleys now were in the very front, already in contact with the Arcane lines. They hit the wall of battle and scattered, taking heavy damage from the arcane gunners, coming to bear again after the first broadside.

The arcane fleet split, making a pincer attack above and below the Arcane ships, a tactic similar to the one used by the Krynor, in an attempt to avoid the full fury of the Arcane broadside. Wall cruisers were taking damage from the Arcane escorts, as was their purpose, and several exploded brilliantly. Combine missile escorts had been firing the whole time, and the Arcanists now found themselves peppered with thousands of incoming missiles.

While the fleet maneuvered, it moved in closer and closer to the Arcane lines, taking more firepower in order to deal more out.

The embassy, of course, was simply a smashed ruin atop a massive interlocking set of catacombs on the airless moon. Thirty levels down is as far as the Arcanists had fared, but there were many more, and scans indicated power sources in use...

The Jardanians sent 20 carships in all directions, each one loaded with some stargates. Their misson, to find a habitabale planet, set up the stargate and DHD, and move on.

The embassy, of course, was simply a smashed ruin atop a massive interlocking set of catacombs on the airless moon. Thirty levels down is as far as the Arcanists had fared, but there were many more, and scans indicated power sources in use...

Dozens of heavily armed, modified deep-borers dug through the crust and through the various machinery of the embassy lower levels, periodically dropping small explosives, until they had reached the power sources.

The Jardanian troop transports broke into 4 groups, all moving in the 4 geographic directions, trying to get on the other side of the planet from the arcane fleet.

Hectori looked up seeming to have instantly aged almost 100 years his once tall bright crest now hung sadly in a dismal shade of grey. "How long will it take to reach your wold" he said fighting to stand "I cannot in good contience allow another planet to burn."

The Arcane escort ships were in trouble. They had made an effort to punch forward through the Combine drone screen and had done so admirably, but in the process had placed themselves beyond the range of heavy protection of the Arcane capital ship guns. The drones used by the combine were designed specifically to take out escorts, and although they were dying by the thousands, a full half of their number remained, chewing through the escorts. Blue collars moved in to support the drones as cruisers and capital ships closed. The second broadside was fired, targeting the drones. Thousands more died, but the Krell capital ships pushed on towards the Arcane lines.

"Lances away! Hit the dreadnaughts!"

The short-range bruisers of the Krell Armada fired. Lance destroyers, hidden behind the Titans, came out of defensive positions and fired. 40 Lance shots burned towards the Arcane fleet.

Countering the movement to the dorsal and ventral sides with rolls was a simple matter, and soon the Krell ships were once again withing the kill zones of the Arcane Fleet

Thousands of missiles were.. problematic however, but that was the joy of astropaths, and chain disintegrate, they managed to take out most of the missilesand torpedoes. Still, the number was daunting, and Arcane shields flared and several ships simply could not take the strain.

Their weapons removed and thier shields down, with probably no chance of every seeing ther homeworlds again, the crews of the Destroyers lost resorted to ramming tactics.

Dozens of groups, much like the forces that had secured the embassy sans some fighters, spread across Toril, landing at and securing every important goverment facility with swift efficiency. They all came with the same message as the earlier group had, surrender or be crushed.

They were stopped much earlier than that, as EMP charges burst to prevent further drilling. As the charge dissipated, Deathstrike heavy tanks rolled into position to repel the invaders. Their Microfusion cannons roared, and missiles fired in the tight quarters.

The deep-borers were heavily armored, and actually survived long enough to fire off a few high powered pulse lasers back at the tanks. However, they were quickly cut down, but their destruction detonated all the explosives they had planted, and even the ones they were still carrying. Something akin to a minature thermonuclear detonation took place, destroying just over 2/3rds of the attacking tanks and sending tremors across the continent.

"Troopers, we will be dropping into hostile territory with orbit still contested, minimal air support, and hostiles everywhere. Our only advantage will be chemical weapons. Although victory is likely, we estimate upwards of 50% calusilites. Anyone who wishes to back out, step forward now."

No one moved.

The troop transports came around the far side of the planet, flying low to avoid stations batteires, the fired chemical weapons pods loaded with stun gas into whatever cities they came across, then deployed their sheild-pearcing drop pods full of heavly armoed troops.

Once the landing site was secure, they moving in infantry and a few tanks.

More Deathstrikes were being lifted from below, and now this wave included Spider Drones. Not as many as one would expect to properly support the tanks, however. A mechanism of the Overseer's over-optimization of it's tactics, or...

The ships destroyed quickly, but it mattered little. Above Toril, the R'hlloran fleet was raining down hellfire on the planetary shield, slowly wearing it away.

As each Lance was fired, astropaths woeked ther best to deflect the shots, and succeeded admirably And those that did caused relativly minimal damage to the hulking dreanoughts, all thing considered.

Arcane Escourts then retreated back into the protection of the Heavy ships broadsides. And the third such broadside was sounded.

The fighter sceen in disarray, the heavy weapons asserted themselves, and slammed into the capitalships of the Krell fleet.

The drones were almost all destroyed; the Arcanists had done their work. Two broadsides and heavy support fire had burned away the drones and some of the escorts. The Arcane escorts had taken significant damage, however. The escorts pulled back towards the dorsal and ventral fleets, trying to reform defensive screens. The fleets were still in the killzone, but there were not nearly as many guns set per fleet, something that Leego Diama liked.

The Arcane defensive mages quickly tried to compensate for the Lance shots, but it was hard. Lances were railgun-based, and hit the target before they could be detected. And at such close ranges, hits were almost certain, ECM nigh on useless. Nonetheless, 5 shots were miraculously deflected before hitting the shields. The 35 Lance shots hit, 4-5 per Dreadnaught. Lances, even more powerful then the KSE fusion cannons, tore through the shields. The weaker 8th fleet dreadnaught(s) were taken out of the battle immediately by the combined blow of 5 lance shots. The rest were damaged, with shields blown away. The missile frigates fired off another volley, targeting the holes in the Dreadnaughts' defense that had been blown open by the Lances. Fire poured into the gaping wounds of the supercapital ships.
