For my quote ...
Furthermore, assuming that Alderaan was Earth-like, the fastest any particle would need to go to clear the planet's potential well is 11.2 km/s. If a significant portion of the planet's mass was moving that slowly, we'd have observed a large concentration of mass remaining after the explosion. Since the entire space taken up by the planet was cleared, we can safely conclude that you're wrong.
I think I worded that extremely poorly. His claim was that basically none of the mass achieved escape velocity, which implies that the upper limit to the debris' velocity was 11.2 km/s. However, I said that 11.2 km/s was the fastest a particle would need to go to clear the potential well, which is wrong. That's the slowest it would need to go. It'd be much appreciated if you could amend the quote with a small note or something.

This is basically clarified in my response post to him, when I chastise him for assuming that a grenade exploding is analogous to a planet exploding.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and you didn't mention his claim of driving all over the country and spending $800 on gas to personally sit down with a bunch of college professors just to hear them say you were wrong. That was one of the funniest things I'd ever heard; you have to include it.

My math may be off today.. Isn't that above E=MC^2, or is that exactly E=MC^2?
It's about an order of magnitude above. The maximum energy that can be obtained from 1 kg of any substance is 9E16 J.

LMAO

I don't think I've laughed that hard at someone's stupidity in quite awhile.

One thing I did find interesting:
And what's the bit about a 228 pound bench press? How did he even load up the bar with 228 pounds? For those who don't know, barbell weights come in fairly standardized denominations of 45 lbs, 25 lbs, 10 lbs, 5 lbs, and 2½ lbs. Heavy-duty bars weigh 45 lbs. As you can see, it would be rather difficult to load up a proper weightlifting bar with 228 lbs; you would need special odd-denomination weights just to make it happen (unless, of course, he's using some really cheesy machine which actually has a "228 lb" setting, but no serious weight trainer would use such a machine). And in case you're wondering, 228 lbs does not work out to a round number in metric units either.
They do make incremental 1.5 lb, 1 lb and 1/2 lb weights, and heavier collars can contribute to the load as well. And yeah, that's likely not metric plates. As close as he could get would be 228.8 lbs using 104kg, which is doable with metric plates, but the weight plates required to do that are all pretty rare.

Nevertheless, Stewie is still a fuckwad, and if he wanted to show off his hyooge muscles he could have at least substituted an impressive number in there like most Internet bench-pressers.

I've added some more material. I'm afraid I won't be able to add all of it, because the page is getting kind of long, but I think it's still within the realm of readability. Thoughts?

It's very readable, and I think you can add on more content if you want without making it too bad. Perhaps an index for the particularly lazy at the top, but I personally think it's fine and if you wanted to add another 30% to the length, it wouldn't detract from its overall focus.

I was hoping my mathematical proof that, to produce enough energy to produce the explosion we see, you need a Uranium ball twice as massive as Earth. Oh well. :D

I think it's hilarious, and still comfortably readable.

One thing about Stewie still tickles me, and it's something you know I'll get hung up on!

That is, why is he bragging about a 228 lbs. bench press?!

The fact that the weight itself makes no sense aside, I suppose that's an okay press for an old man--say, 65 plus. But discounting all but the most advanced ages, it remains something far less than impressive.

I saw that claim as a poor attempt to cow young kids and/or people who've never pumped much iron. It's soooo in keeping with his MO: bullshit your opponents, preferrably people who don't know a given subject very well(martial arts, guns, lifting weights, physics, Trek and Wars canon), and pray that something will "wow" them.

I think you've made the point that the guy's a bullshitter pretty well already, though ;) And since his junk about martial arts and the like was a cheesy distraction in the first place, it's vaguely possible poking a lot more fun at his off-topic shit might wrest too much attention away from how worthless his on-topic arguments actually were.

Hell, I'm only a bit along in my weight training and I can bench press more than 228lbs (just don't ask me to do it more than a few times, I'm not in top shape yet).

Anyway, that Stewie page looks good, Mike. :) It's an excellent monument to him.

My favorite was when he brought up the StarfishPrime shot as evidence and then a couple pages later said it was "600 miles iirc."

He actually thought that a .45 pistol having 5 FEET of drop at 200 yards was decent ballistics.

And Stewart's latest claim: you should compare early destroyers to modern missile boats rather than early destroyers to modern destroyers because missile boats and destroyers have the same mission -- destroying enemy units -- but modern destroyers do not have the same mission.

My favorite line is when Stewie claims that because he is a rated Captain in SFB, that makes him an expert on space warfare. I, like many on this board, have played SFB, and I would no matter how good I was I would never claim that this would make me an expert on space combat! Being good at playing a TWO DIMENSIONAL space game based on a thirty year old TV show does not make one an expert! I've beaten MOO2 on Impossible mode, I quess that makes me an expert on galatic conquest. Been said more than once, but have to say it again, Stewie is an ass!

I just realized why I think that Stewie is so funny, then I remembered why. His boasts remind me exactly of a song by the Dropkick Murphys called "Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced."
Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced
Written by Dropkick Murphys

I play in a band, we're the best in the land
We're big in both Chelsea and France
I play one mean guitar and then score at the bar
There's a line of chicks waiting for their chance
So come on now honey, I'll make you feel pretty
These other gals mean nothing to me
Let's finish these drinks and be gone for the night
"Cause I'm more than a handful, you'll see

(chorus)
So kiss me I'm shitfaced
I'm soaked I'm soiled and brown
In the trousers, she kissed me
And I only bought her one round

I can bench-press a car, I'm an ex-football star
With degrees from both Harvard and Yale
Girls just can't keep up, I'm a real love machine
I've had far better sex while in jail!
I've designed the Sears Tower, I make two grand an hour
I cook the world's best Duck Flambe
I'll take the pick of the litter, girls jockey for me
I don't need these lines to get laid

I'm a man of the night, a real ladies delight
See my figure was chiseled from stone
One more for the gal then I'll escort her home
Come last call I'm never alone
I've a house on the hill with a red waterbed
That puts Hugh Heffner's mansion to shame
With girls by the pool and Italian sports cars
I'm just here in this dump for the game...

Aw, who am I shitting?
I'm a pitiful sight, and I ain't all that bright
I'm definitely not chiseled from stone
I'm a cheat and a liar, no woman's desire
I'll probably die cold and alone...
...but just give me a chance, 'cause deep down inside
I swear I've got a big heart of gold
I'm a monogamous man, no more one night stands
Come on honey, let me take you home.

He's claiming that more advanced units are always smaller yet more powerful than older ones...based comparing a modern LAC to a WWII battleship. When it was pointed out that modern destroyers are much bigger than old destroyers, using the example of the U.S.S. Arleigh Burke versus the U.S.S. Bainbridge, he retorted that LAC vs. battleship was a valid comparison but destroyer vs. destroyer is not.

He further states that since early destroyers were called "torpedo boat destroyers", they are only capable of engaging torpedo boats.
