Which FTP software do you use most often and can recommend? I've recently bought a domain and wish to get on with uploading my site.

Pretend I'm a computer illiterate but intelligent person who is willing to learn the skills needed, but hasn't a clue where to start...
What's the optimum of ease of use and cost, and how do I learn to use it?

I have been using BulletProof, but haven't bought it as yet.

I use WinSCP2. It's free, easy to use and supports ssh connections that I require for my faculty account.

I use SmartFTP. Pretty easy GUI, will get your work done (judging by the type of person you are describing, who doesn't seem to be some server admin guru).

Free and a nice gui.

If you're desperate enough you can use IE ftp access. It's crude but quick and effective. I use it when I want to upload quickly from other locations.

I use cuteftp, have done for years. Simple enough, drag and drop works, multiple files in a queue, easy to set up etc...

using ftp commander myself. only a couple of windows and it's incredibly easy to set up. fairly intuitive interface.

I use Coreftp Lite, it's basically cuteftp...except you don't have to crack it after 30 days...since it's free.:p
