Well, since that information was under lazerus's control at the time, maybe we should ask him where he distrubuted that data.

The vampires are pleased with the situation that the mages have created.
And the Republic is not pleased with the vampires just butting in and taking shit.

You need help; we offered help; we demanded very little in return. Of course, you refused out of hand without considering the situation. You've already lost three planets--our offer was to retake those for you, and then we would probably give you a large payment in return for the right to occupy them. Shit, we could've just taken them without telling you anything, they're in the Arcane occupation zone and not under your jurisdiction at all. We were just giving you a courtesy call--we didn't really expect you to refuse! It wasn't the smart thing to do.

As it is, you (A) don't have those planets now, (B) won't regain them any time soon, (C) you probably don't have enough troops to pick up the slack, and (D) the situation is going to get less tenable with every day that passes. Good luck.

You're already going to get an ass raping. Remember Korea, Vietnam? Remember how France pulled out and left America with their shitstorm? That's just what happened, only instead of taking months or years, it just happened in a few HOURS.

Does it matter? It's pretty clear Rogue 9 isn't thinking logically at this point, and is just wrapping himself in his paranoid metagaming delusions. You're friendly with the Ousters, and that makes you EVIL EVIL EVIL!!

I'm wondering why he's not raising a bigger stink over the Ousters moving War Clusters into various Arcanists worlds and declaring them open to colonization by Floaters. :P

That will come soon. My fleet can't do anything about Toril, apparently, but it sure as hell can and will contest blatant opportunism like that.

As for the vampires, there's the political angle to consider. The good citizens of the Covenant of God got all riled up over wizards on their worlds. How much more do you think they'd go apeshit over vampires? You'd spark the shitstorm even further by your mere presence. This is not a favor to us.

It's too late for that; the Covenanters already hate you, and have been given heart first by the death of Raistlin and then the complete withdrawal of the Arcane forces. Many of them who doubted that terrorism and resistane would succeed have changed their minds- after all, if it worked for the Arcanists, why no the Nashtar and UP? Your only hope, short of some clever PR work, is weilding sufficient force to stop the revolts.

Have fun with that, Rogue9. After all, those systems are now bereft of life, we might as well put em to use, eh?

Go ahead. You may even get Ravenlock support there.

You're missing the forest for the Trees, man. It was never Magic or Wizards which brought Alyrium the flak he got, it was how he USED them. The people were understandbly pissed because they got their free will taken away by Alyrium's wizards.

And, you know, with all the complaining everyone has been doing about where the Covenant have been getting weapons, I have to ask- what the hell happened to the Covenant ground forces and military bases? Did they just disappear when the Arcanists showed up?

Every time I've tried PR work its been summarily ignored. I'll try again. But if it comes to it, I have sufficient force to quell the revolts and I will use it if necessary.

But I still think that the vampires' presence would likely worsen matters. The Republic and UP are both largely moderate Christian populations; the vampires are creatures right out of medieval European horror stories, closely linked (in their minds, anyway) with the Satanistic powers that they fear so much. They might eventually give in to us. For the vampires? They wouldn't stop fighting. Ever. The orcs would have to kill them all.

Recovered in the base:

Recordings of meetings between Majere and the Primary Programmer. Discussions mostly centre on how the Monacorans have decided the Overseer must be destroyed, according to Majere. The reactions of the Primary Programmer are paniced, frantic, etc. Also discussed is how to ensure Karsus and his friends are unharmed during the assault.

Skematics and plans for augmenting Constructs with magic. Deathstrikes that can phase through solid matter, Spider Drones which can teleport vast distances, Replicators that can spin solid machines out of pure magic.

Some which might have been prototypes; Orcs damaged them in their assault.
Manic Progressive: A liberal who violently swings from anger at politicos to despondency over them.

Out Of Context theatre: Ron Paul has repeatedly said he's not a racist. - Destructinator XIII on why Ron Paul isn't racist.

That was pretty much the plan, actually. I was going to barrel in there like a freight train--first move, forcible relocation for all civilians. Everybody in area X get's moved to area Y and vice versa. This has the effect of confusing and debilitating them, as well as drawing out the resistance to be killed because they can't afford to lose their bases.

After that it's standard peacekeeping and we put them to work building their new homes. SOP for guerrillas is night attacks and ambushes, which is nicely countered by my advantages, because my forces are top-notch night fighters and I don't care very much how many soldiers I lose. Orcs are eminently disposable. These actions would probably resort in a simply massive number of deaths and resistance would peak for a while. However, application of unrelenting pressure, will-sapping spells (not programming them to like us, just to be more confused and frightened and dimwitted) would eventually numb them into a dull terror, which is the ideal place for them to be.

Would this lead to greater unrest on other covenant planets? Probably. But you could always threaten to pull out and leave them to us. Maybe even bring down an expeditionary brigade of orcs to parade around as a threat.

I have no idea of what percentage would have to be killed... maybe 25% of the population. That's the advantage that I--and Nitram, I guess--have. We're villains and we waste no time with the pretense of being heroes, so we get shit done. You were probably right to balk at the zero oversight thing

Of course, I'm only telling you this--and it's OOC, don't quote me on it :D--because you already refused... which was likely the right decision. Maybe not, though.

He's not firing, in case you failed to notice. The gunners are tense for the order. It hasn't come, and its not going to unless a moving Siliconoid shows its metal face or a surface installation starts resisting. Perhaps I worded it badly.

And Pablo, that's about what I thought. Saw the orc assault, followed by your announcement about moving in to occupy accompanied by an announcement that we need to keep our noses out of what you're doing. Realized the backlash I'd get as a result. So, yeah.

Erm... So I have to state that I'm not bombarding now, as opposed to having to post an action for it to take place? Ooookay.

How best to put this. You posted that your men were eager to blow something up, anything, and that they were on a hair trigger, ready to shoot at the first thing that poses a threat (actually, anything that was still active, which was stupid, because it could have been a server room containing reams of data). In other words, your post implied that you were going to go over to the Mechanoid installation and just start blasting away at it in impotent rage.

Which, needless to say, is not a brilliant tactical manuever.

However, had you stated that you were going to open comms and offer the vampires assistance in their efforts, that would have made more sense.
