We do not wish to claim these worlds by force, which is why we only have one ship here. The fact of the matter is we were handed these world unannounced by the former Arcane empire to mediate the inevetable land grab, as a neutral third party. We are unable to colonize these worlds and have no direct need for them. As to the vampires present I would like to be the first to welcome you home to Ravenloft and immediately sign this world over to you. Which is our legal right as the sovergn power over these worlds.

Admiral-Marquis Belisario de Valencia got on the comm immediately as the open transmissions were intercepted, "As representative of King Casimir the Demon I dispute your claim to the Arcane systems. Some 40% of our vampire population originally hails from these planets, including the majority of our highest rulers. I myself was born on Ravenloft. As we are refugees from these systems we have legitimate claim to the habitable planets therein. I request immediate negotiations to determine the fate of these planets."

Belisario sneered, the expression unnoticed over the audio channel but offered nonetheless, "Your contract with the traitorous, backstabbing, machine-loving Mages was voided by their abandonment of the worlds and their dastardly aid to the silicon enemy. "And I categorically deny that the Hajr has any right to rule over any systems ceded to the Aquarians. You have no right to simply waltz in and start occupying systems at your whim." Fisher was not happy at all with this. "If these worlds are to be treated as evidence in investigation, then treat them that way. Evidence in investigations is not claimed as the personal property of the investigators."

Authentic deeds and titles preserved in our archives on Temesvar designate vast land-holdings on your planets as owned by many of our citizens--these lands were illegally seized in your genocidal war against us. In a brillaint flash a ship appeared in the terra system, not too far from earth.

It didn't warp in, it didn't hyperdrive in, what it did do was nearly give the FTL sensor moniter a heart attack.

The ship was extremly odd, shaped like a long cylinder with a pole stuck through the center, and several half-ring like objects floating around it. The rings were not connected to the central body in any way, but maintained a fixed distance from it as it moved and turned.

Onboard, the science officer looked at his readouts.

Ok, a few things that might be worthy of note........

1) They don't use a double-door airlock system, their docking bay opens directly to the ship with only a thin forcefield keeping the air in.

2) When your shuttle came in there was a Kitanian standing in the shuttlebay waiting to great you........without a space suit. (IE, was standing in hard vacum with no problem).

3) There is no visible machinery, and power scans would detect no central power generator.

4) A ship of this size would normall require a crew of 20 to 30, it has a crew of 3.

A small fleet of Monacoran transports moved into Orbit over the former Arcane world. They broadcast demands to land immeadietly and to be allowed immeadiete access to the Arcane Army's high command facilities to search for documents relevant to the Siliconoids.

The rapid reaction force arrived at its destination as expected, the ships immediately heading towards the primary planet. The ships moved as a unified whole, sensor drones launched in order to reveal what the system had to offer and form a sensor net around the task force. Their orders were to arrive in system and establish communications with command after their positioning phase was accomplished. The reaction force was numerous but those numbers were made primarily of escorts. The force had been meant to move quickly, and as such the most powerful members where five “fortune” class cruisers. Nonetheless, the task force carried out its orders. The system appeared to be deserted of activity. It was not surprising. The task force had kept up with the developments occurring in the arcane home world. Nonetheless, that problem was up to the fifth fleet. The fleet took its position and settled to wait.

Former Arcane Space

The fifth fleet was aware of the sudden rise in tensions with the arrival of the U.P fleet. It was a pity that the U.P forces were so devoted to their brokered alliance that they could not seem to see arcane treachery. The arcane empire if it had been innocent in the first place had acted foolishly, and any claims that they may have offered to the Atlanteans was null and void. Ultimately however, nations fell back on the only thing that truly mattered; Might. It was regrettable that even after thousands of years, peace through superior firepower was the only method that seemed to work.

The fifth fleet had no desire to start a conflict, but it was prepared for one if the need arose. Nonetheless, if the U.P and the Ouster forces wished to duel then so be it. Such an exchange did not affect its reason for being here. Nonetheless, the possibility of being caught in the middle of hostilities did not please anyone. The U.P admiral had been rude and thus there was no answer from the Veithan forces. Nonetheless, the belligerent forces were passively tracked. Their locations plugged into fire contol; so that if push came to shove and their forces were “unfortunately” targeted the veithan response would be suitably vicious.

Veithan defense drones repositioned themselves now that they had to consider stray fire into their formation, the fleet itself maneuvering slightly in order to place itself in a better position. It was still outside of the lines of fire of both Ouster and U.P forces and they had every intention on remaining that way. Their weapons were fully charged, shields were powered and tracking stations under the orders that if the fleet was painted with any sort of targeting devices, to prepare for the initiation of hostilities.

A moment later, the situation became moot as the rapid reaction force arrived on its station. A channel opened to the Gladsheim forces in the area.

"This is Admiral Stone. We are vacating the system and heading towards Al-Quadim. If you wish to join us there you are welcome, if not be safe. The situation between the U.P and the Ousters could deteriorate. Stone, out."

The entire fifth fleet recalled its defense drones as well as most of its sensor drones. A dozen or so where left behind in order to monitor the developing U.P and Ouster situation. After the drones had been collected vanished into hyperspace.
