Sex forum!

This idea was floated in the Mod forum a while ago, with inconclusive results. So I thought I'd try floating the idea here too, to see what the general population thinks. The idea? A forum dedicated to the discussion of sex-related matters (but not political issues like legalization of gay marriage). Sex tips, sexuality issues, techniques, horror stories, dating stuff, etc. That stuff currently tends to be put in OT or HOS, and as with the "sex tips" thread, people often wonder why something to that effect is not stickied.

Second question: what would this forum be called? One potential name might be "Sex and Relationships" (S&R) or "Sex and Sexuality" (S&S), or my favourite, "About Sex & Sexuality" (ASS).

Then what's Off-Topic for? Seems too specialized, and we already have a large number of special forums. I'm not really for the idea.

EDIT: Count me a vote for ASS if it is created though.

I think we have enough forums as it is.

But if it must be made, I like the S&R name.

I say that OT covers sexuality-related topics just fine, as there aren't as many threads relating to it as there were video games and politics before forums for them were created. There should be some sort of rule to creating new forums for something (Like if an average x number of threads relating to something are found in y number of pages over z amount of time, then a new forum should be made for the topic).

However, if things come to the creation of a forum for sex-related issues, then I'll go with the "ASS" abbreviation.

As much as I want to support the propagation of all things ASS, I must vote nay. We have the BotM and the OT forums. And, the presense of a sex forum will raise the question of whether this board is 18+ .

I don't think we need a new forum, for reasons already covered. However, if we do decide to do it, i'd vote for S&R just because it seems to cover more ground... and it sounds better >.>

Hmmmmm, im not really sure, on one hand it would be cool to have such a forum, but on the other hand OT is usually sufficient for that stuff...

Bah, I'll vote YES, I think its worth trying. It can always be removed again anyways if its not working out.

However, not everybody is in the BotM, and it'd be sorta nice to have somewhere where U18s can ask questions and that...
I think it shoudl be made invisible to non-members, though, for the reasons Fgalkin said.

lump it with all of those "oooh, I don't understand girls" threads, into a forum to ask for advice about personal problems. And call it:

Advice on
Relationships,
Sex and
Everything.

On behalf of myself, alyrium and lost prophet (they are half dead due to meat/otter-pop/root beer coma and sitting behind me) we agree that this this forum should be created. Also in any thread on it dealing with sexual mishaps I would Be "Lord Shark Bait, lesbianizer and god of sexual mishaps" (at least according to alyrium).

Not only that my trusty magic 8-Ball states "Yes Definately" when asked.

Thinking on it more, I think it wouldn't really detract from OT too much (or the BotM) as this is speaking in different terms. Be a bit on the difficult side to moderate, maybe, but I think it'd be well worth it. However, I am unsure of whether an all-out advice forum would be better or just sex/relationships-related. -shrugs- So I guess my vote is an 'aye.'
