Are you buying the new 1.5 liter Coca-Cola drinks?

Post by Soontir C'boath »

If it hasn't been noticed yet, Coca Cola has been cranking out the 1.5 liter bottles for about or the same price of a 2 liter bottle which I find really ridiculous and I have been buying other drinks that are still 2 liters.

Do you leave them alone or do you find their tastes too irresistable to stop?

No because, fun fact, I have a brain cell that currently works. I avoid scams such as this when I work out the ol' grey matter.

Ehh Yes

The 1.5L bottle is the standard size for the last 15years or so here.

-*- Edit -*-

Doh!

If I see a 2L bottle for the same prise as a 1.5L I get the 2L

Soda is simply a huge rip-off if you buy anything less then a 2-liter bottle so I try to avoid doing that whenever possibul. I haven't noticed any 1.5 liters in my area though, but they could be delayed seeing how the local bottling plant was on strike for a while.

I did the math once. The cost per ounce of buying a 12 pack case of coke is about the same as an equal amount of Coke in 2 liter portions. These 1.5 liter bottles, however, are slightly more expensive.

Cans are always preferable unless you intend to go through a 2-liter bottle quickly.

Yeah, I have the same deal. Cans are parsed into 12 portions, while with a 2-liter bottle you are more likely to make a big honking glass of it and deplete your Coke much faster.

I havn't seen the 1.5 liters, but the miniature cans are the biggest wastes of money ever.

No, because I usually go through about one 20-ounce bottle a day, and buying a larger bottle will leave some drink remaining that will become flat. Unless there are several people that are going to be drinking it, I don't see the need to buy anything bigger than a liter.

I haven't seen any 1.5ers and nor would I buy any should I see them. I'll stick to 2 liters thanks.

The 1.5 litre ones are called "share size" too, must be some sort of niche market out there full of idiots who go for those fads. Two litres is the best bet, or go with the packs of 330ml cans, but they can be pricey.

The two litre bottles I get can be flat in two days if they last that long. Three would be too much, it just tastes crap when flat.

every once in a rare while i'll buy a 1.5 litre, but usually it's when i want a decent amount of soda but not the problem of carrying around a 2 litre bottle. it's slightly more expensive but the convenience makes up for that, and i don't do it too often anyways.

795mL? I could've sworn they were 600mL bottles. Are you sure you're not confusing them with 750mL liquor bottles?

I just buy 24-pack flats. Since I don't live on soda, one flat usually lasts me over two months.

We've got the Pepsi mini-cans (150mL or thereabouts), 355mL cans, 591-600mL bottles, 710mL bottles (both Pepsi and Coke make them, we have them at the corner store), 1L bottles and 2L bottles.

I prefer Pepsi in bottles, and Coke in cans. For some reason they seem fizzier in those containers. Canned Pepsi isn't that great, and bottled Coke seems a little flat right when you open it. But No-Name Generic Coke is just as good.
