But I stand by my point that it's quick enough that while you could scramble defences, you don't have the time to get a full battlegroup in position.
Nope, sorry, FTL can only go so fast, and I'm outside of known space, meaning it will take you days to get to me. Meaning your wormhole is going to appear long before you can get to me.

Here's the deal. Either it's the battlegroup, and your people can get the chance make it out of here alive, or it's planetary defenses, which are not so inclined to ask you nicely to go away before blowing the crap out of you. I was feeling generous, so you got Clay.
I'M beyond known space, so that's a non-issue. And the wormhole would appear just as the ship does, not in advance.

Look, think of a normal ship as a car. And this as a car with the engine replaced with a JATO rocket.

It's very easy to detect, but also very fast. And of limited millitary application.

Unless you're right next to me, which you aren't, then you have to go even farther to get to me.

My head hurts when you try to justify this. Wormholes are point to point. You need both ends active for there to be a middle.

You just gave me a week or more of prep time. Thanks.

Allright, by that logic, a wormhole is the same length no matter how long the trip is in realspace.

So it take my ships exactly 5 min to reach a location, weather it's the star next door or the other side of the galaxy? Is THAT what your saying?

Look, can we get a mod ruling on this?

I think going very very very fast, in exchange for an inability to stop, turn around, or head to a new destination once you've started is a fair trade off. You know, advantages and limitaions?

Getting my ass kicked would have required Tycho actually had something other than some pissant fighters to defend himself. My ships are now safely on their way back home.

Nope, it's just stating a fact that a wormhole needs two points to have a middle. Do I need to teach you basic geometry to get the point across?
So it take my ships exactly 5 min to reach a location, weather it's the star next door or the other side of the galaxy? Is THAT what your saying?
Nope, do try to pay attention.

Code: Select all

0-----------------------------------0
0------------------0
Both points need to be active for the wormhole tunnel to remain stable. Want to guess what happens when the two points aren't active?

Yup, those ships are gone. Good game, no remake. Looks like you haven't even developed FTL tech yet. Have fun deploying ships between systems with STL.

What is the problem you have with somthing that HAS NO MILITARY APPLICATON.
If it's beyond the tech level, it doesn't matter, and it has plenty of miltary application if anyone else gets their hands on it, and with your military, it wouldn't be too hard to do.

Do I need to teach you basic relitivy? Take a piece of paper, put two dots on it, fold the paper between the dots. The dots touch.

THIS IS TRUE NO MATTER HOW FAR APART THE DOTS ARE.

Foldspace technology is endlessly ahead of DS9 technology. Therefore you cannot have it. So kiss my ass.

Wormhole technology isn't that far ahead of DS9, we've seen some other races use it.

Except that you don't get to make the pieces touch, you just get to decrease the distance, dumbass. You're making a tunnel which has to be kept open on both ends in order to work. You sure as hell don't get INSTANT point to point tech.

And I dare say I have a much better grasp of relativity theory and quantum physics than you do.

Given that i'm a physics major I would say your wrong.

And even if it's not instant, the point is it dosn't depend on the distance between the two poitns if you use the strictest definition of a "wormhole".

So fine, you can detect it, but it's really fuggin fast. See new IC post.

Really?

Point to where in DS9 it has magic, if you can't, point to where you massivy objected to aly's empire.

Probability control device.

Of course, since you're a retard, you can't fathom that that defines the effects possible, not the method to get there.

Once again. What you want is above the tech level for the STGOD. Therefore, you cannot have it, you powergaming peice of whiny shit.

NEWSFLASH!

You're a Dumbass!

Maybe you missed the MASSIVE FUCKING POSTS about three or four members posted, yelling at Alyrium for breaking DS9 techlevel with his magic?

It's capability, not method, that's important.

Seriously, I'm playing Crobuzon next STGOD just to how that a magic-based empire can be done right.

It does here, and it does if you consider the massive amounts of power required to artificially shorten the distances involved.
So fine, you can detect it, but it's really fuggin fast. See new IC post.
Pity for you, you lose the ship before you get to say a damn thing. I told you I was being generous before. You just threw that away. Goodbye.

Oh, and there is a battlegroup there. Get over it.

1) Uh.....ok. You can keep on doubting.
2) Ok, massive amounts of power........would two or three stations DEDICATED ENTIRLY TO POWER GENERATION fit that requirement!?
3) I never said there wasn't.

It's not a matter of broken. It's a matter of a direct contradiction to the rules agreed upon to start this STGOD. Your technology exceeds DS9 level, therefore you cannot have it.

I'm getting bored repeating myself. Actually try to come up with something other than mindless screeching, okay?

Some physics major you are. DS9 tech level power generation is too meagre to generate the energy to produce the sheer mass of a wormhole.
