The E3 video was amazing, especially with the lighting demonstrations. The interesting thing is that they don't brute force all of this rendering. The engine does a lot of interpolation between high-res and low-res stuff to achieve the appearance of greater poly counts with relatively few polys actually on screen.

They already are, more or less. It's just graphics in GAMES that are catching up and are now up to this point.
