++ As you extrapolated, the Organics have located this base. We are still several months from completion of our heaviest warships. Advise. ++

++ Only now? And you are the first base to report it. Did I overestimate these Organics? Are they too scattered and weak to respond faster? No; I extrapolate they are still cleansing my handiwork in other systems. It matters not the exacts. They will come for you. While it will take their warfleets weeks, to accomodate their heavy vessels, you will likely not have your Dreadnoughts completed. Perserve! Know that your delay and costs will preserve other bases! ++

++ Of course, Overseer. ++

++ Begin overwrite of all data saving the maps. We cannot let the poor little infants think they hurt us, no? ++

Temesvar, Realm of the Blood King

Ambassador Halifax sat back in his chair, closed his eyes and then began speaking slowly.

"We have no objections to how you use your planets thus far. We suggest, however, that inspectors from a few nations be allowed to search through the planets for documents on the Siliconoid conspiracy. That alright with everyone?"

One of our destroyer patrols has found a major Siliconoid base of operations. Attached are the coordinates of the system, designated Gamma-3658 by our Astrographical Survey, and the sensor data from the destroyer Polaris and frigate Dusk Bandit. The report came in to us about eight hours ago as of the transmission of this message. The captain of the Polaris neglected to send a copy directly to you in the scramble to clear the system. I apologize for the delay; we didn't realize the omission until analysts went through the destroyer's transmission logs. Please advise as to your plans concerning this information. Our fleets stand ready to participate in an attack at your request.

"Naturally, our willingness to allow and sponsor these investigations was made clear from the first," Peipus replied, "though I must point out that no great amount of evidence can be expected. The Arcanists no doubt destroyed or carried with them whatever documents they may have kept, and as their native industry was minimal, if in fact it can even be regarded as extant, there would be very little 'hard' evidence to be discovered. I would feel it quite likely that only the Mechanoids would hold strong clues on the matter, as their concerns are entirely physical, rather than ethereal.

"Before any other matters are taken up, however, we will be sealing the interplanar gateways opened by the mages. We must prevent any return in force that they may be planning. With the permission of the other parties at this meeting, we will provide specialist personnel with experience in these matters; these gateways are difficult but not impossible to seal with non-magical means."

NRS Excelsior, Earth orbit

"Monacoran military control, this is the Excelsior. We request an update on planned actions against the Siliconoids in light of the new reconnaissance data." The communications officer looked back at Admiral Lansing, busy going over the readings of the Siliconoid base. Any plans made depended upon where the Monacorans tasked their force, and he'd ordered the update request a minute before, prior to going over the readouts.

Ravenlock Consortium Space
Ravenlock Sector
Corvus System
Q.U.E.S.T. Corporation Head Office

Quantum Physics was a realm of mystery, even in this day an age. Despite the progress made by the galaxy, much in the realm of Quanta remained unknown, almost magical. Every interstellar power harnessed Quantum Physics on some level or another. Energy shields, faster than light travel, sensors, and communication, advanced power generation, artificial gravity, all of it relied on using known elements of Quantum Physics to achieve results that would be considered impossible by previous understandings of the universe. Q.U.E.S.T. Corp was the cutting edge of all technology based on Quantum Physics, and currently involved in numerous top-secret contracts with the Consortium itself for the production of a new type of technology, dubbed Quantek, which was capable of numerous fantastic functions. Most common of the Quantek currently produced were Quantek sensors, capable sensor arrays in their own right, but specifically designed to pick up abnormalities generally associated with Quantum-based technology or effects.

Some people called Quantek “Magic”, and in a way, it was. The underlying principle of the technology was the manipulation of the weave of superstrings in the very fabric of the universe to achieve unique effects. Some were naturally gifted with ways of doing just that, psionically gifted individuals, such as the Dra’kol or the Veithans, or “Magically” gifted individuals, such as the now-defunct Arcanists or the Vampires of the Blood King. How differently gifted individuals controlled the weave varied, as the results of those manipulations were also varied. However, there were basic principles and constraints all faced, and similar effects could be replicated through different methods. The study of the Dra’kol psionic traits and comparing them to Ravenlock telepathic traits had been the final key that had been needed for a breakthrough, and for decades, top minds from all over the Consortium had come to Q.U.E.S.T. to try and better understand the mysteries of Quantek.

When the Arcanists had first been seen by ships mounting Quantek sensors, every eye at Q.U.E.S.T. had turned towards the Arcane Empire. Until this point, they had been specifically forbidden by the Consortium to go to Arcane space and try to learn as much as possible. Now, with Union under the direct control of Consortium forces, Q.U.E.S.T. research scientists and mobile labs had been dispatched to try and learn as much as possible about this highly advanced Quantek the Arcanists had commanded. While it was unlikely that even the brightest of the Consortium could replicate Arcanist “Magic” in any reasonable period of years, their insight into the workings of Quantek itself would be further enlightened. The first teams to arrive at the planet had confirmed that it was, in fact Quantek, and behaved appropriately to current theory, but beyond that, the weaves were so complex on some of the devices that decoding it could take centuries.

The other recent event should have been a highlight, but recent events had outshone it. A series of Quantek devices that had been in development for years had finally passed the prototype stage and had begun production, perhaps the most noticeable of the developments being new Engagement Suits, designed specifically for SENTINEL forces. The suits were top of the line, and sported a host of Quantek-based functions which would facilitate SENTINEL teams in the field. The first shipment was being sent to one of the top teams, under the command of Major Vessal, and shortly to other teams once Major Vessal’s team had given them a true combat trial. If everything worked as it was designed to, it was about to become a very bad time to be a terrorist in the Consortium.

RE: Dinner Theater

This is the Draconis Republic. We invite every interested power to attend a Dinner Theater that we will be hosting. We have been recieving trammissions from WW2 and have decided to contact the various powers. We will be presenting a play we have made called "Springtime for Hitler" playwrites have been working on it since we started reciieving transmissions, and with the historical information that COmmodore Write has sent us, we have managed to complete it.

The play itself is a musical, comedic, and satirical version of Adollf Hitler's rise to power. Dinner will be served and will comprise mainly of meats, and pasta dishes.

The Dinner Theater will take place on Varathrax 1 week from this day<Insert the date 1 week from this transmission> Each power is permitted and encouraged to provide its own security, and to bring one heavy warship, and 2 escorts in system.

"Well, dress is semi-formal. As is the behavior standard. Come and enjoy yoirselves. We have no use for stuffy rooms. As we have said, one heavy warship and 2 escourts. Bring as much personal security as you feel you need, but try to keep it to a few squads of guards and secret servicemen.

we will of course send a civilian contractor to build an embassy, and invite you to do the same on Varathrax"

Copy. We're scrambling Fifth and elements of Third Fleet. Those forces should be sufficient to destroy enemy spacebound forces and pound surface installations into dust, but if this base has bunkers like the others then we will need additional ground forces. The fleets are traveling right away in an attempt to take the Overseer before it can send too many reinforcements. There are enough Marines on board to create a perimeter, but there's not enough time for us to load enough Army units into transports to storm the catacombs.

In reference to Fifth Fleet, I apologize for Admiral Fisher's... overzealousness. He's an excellent tactician, but his assignment to command a peacekeeping mission was a mistake; he's too much of a firebrand. He exceeded his orders. He is far better suited to attacking Siliconoids than negotiating peace deals, so he's being assigned to that instead.

The fleet leaves at once. We will contain the Siliconoids on the world and pound their installations as best we can. Our ground troops can leave within two days, but if anyone can get infantry there faster, we'd appreciate it.

Fleet Admiral Blessinger

Edit: My stupid brother got the drop on me with a kendo stick and threatened to hit me with it if I didn't let him check his e-mail. He'd do it too; wouldn't be the first time. I apologize to the guys in the chat; he doesn't get the concept of "one more minute to say goodbye to the guys." Finished the post.

Veithan Space
Veitha III, Capital

The meeting with the Ravenlock consortium had proven to be quite fruitful. All of the members of the government that had witnessed the exchange agreed that relations between both nations were a real potential. Furthermore, the mystery of the relationship between the Ravenlock director and the Veithan director of intelligence was a puzzle that had to be solved. Steps to that end had already been taken, the device with both DNA samples already on the move towards its final destination. If things went well, they would have an answer to their question in a matter of hours or at most days.

The team that would represent Veitha during the Ravenlock security summit was assembled quickly, arrangements made with Ravenlock representatives through secure and encrypted protocols. After everything had been in order, a single diplomatic ship left Veithan space accompanied by four escorts. Their destination was Ravenlock space. The security summit was a necessary first step before borders could be opened between both nations.

Veithan Annexed Space
Al-Quadim System

The Al-Quadim system was positively awash with the signature of starship drives. The entire Veithan fifth fleet was present and accounted for, the so called rapid reaction force myheri was also present in system adding another fifty five military grade drive signatures. With the arrival of the Gladsheim forces, well over two hundred drive signatures dominated the emptiness of space. The arrival of their guests did not go unnoticed, the channel immediately accepted as Admiral Stone greeted his Gladsheim counterpart.

”Welcome to Al-Quadim Vice Admiral Tjoehorn.” He paused for a moment, nodding at the hologram before him as his counterpart spoke. “You are welcome vice admiral, and we are happy to have you here.” He paused for a moment as the vice admiral spoke, the thin smile that had graced his lips widening. “I don’t have the authority to come to such a decision vice admiral, however, I can tell you that Veithan representatives have been asked to take part in a diplomatic meeting with various other powers about the current situation in arcane space. I was asked to bring this up to your attention, so I imagine that some of the diplomats back home have an idea about the future of this system and that it will involve you in some way shape or form.”

He paused, mentally admitting that the idea made sense. The Grand Empire was an ally now, and they could exploit the gas giants far better than any Veithan could. Furthermore, the presence of Gladsheim forces would help greatly in securing the system from any possible invaders. Furthermore, the gas giants would in time widen the capabilities of the Grand Empire. All in all, it was a winning proposition as long as the Grand Empire and the Veithan Empire stayed close. He pushed the thought aside, deciding that this decision was best left in the hands of those paid to consider all the alternatives.

It was the invitation that brought him out of his internal reverie, his eyes watching the reflection of the vice admiral for a moment before he nodded. “thank you, vice admiral. Stone, out.” He took a deep breath considering his options for a moment. The probability of combat in the immediate future was slim, and his fleet would not lose effectiveness without him. Furthermore, he did not wish to offer insult to the vice admiral. He stood from his flag bridge and glanced at Captain Ileya Manal. “Captain, you have the bridge. Comms, alert the Verdandi that I am accepting the offer.” With his thoughts shared, the admiral left the flag bridge and walked towards the shuttle bay. Minutes later, a single shuttle had left the Blood and Fire and accelerated towards the Verdandi.

Subj: Weekly Update

Project 61a: Project is still on schedule, although works remain to be done in order to bring the design up to the desired specifications. The primary effect can now be replicated with nearly one hundred percent certainty, although the effect still cannot last more than three quarters of a second. Progress in extending the effect has been slow and hindered by a variety of minor problems. At the moment, the primary hurdle remains instability within the generator itself as well as power drain issues. It is unlikely that we will be able to extend the duration of the effect without increasing the size of the package.

Project 64b: We have successfully finalized a warp sustainer device that performs within the desired specifications. Sadly, the device is still forty five percent larger than desired. We are having difficulties miniaturizing certain components. It is possible to manage to compact the device to the required specifications but this will take either a new deadline or loss of performance. We have developed a containment package for current configuration. Sadly, it will have to be mounted externally if it is to work efficiently or we will need to redesign a warship to carry the devices. One benefit of the larger devices is that the redesigned shell will be able to carry a larger payload. Work is on going as we attempt to conform to the original specifications.

Project 69a: University of Caille data has begun to be applied and bear fruition. Current information suggests that we will be able to lower the energy necessary to cross into the faster than light threshold by slightly more than thirty percent. The data has also allowed for experiments with flicker drones, analysis suggests that we will be able to increase their range by over twenty percent. The enhancements will require some modifications to existing drives, but the changes will not require a completely new drive system. Part of the changes will be software based while others will be hardware. We are continuing to examine the data in search for any other possible advantages.

Project 69b: A combination of existing hyperspace and high energy physics and new breakthroughs from the University of Caille seems to suggest the possibility of an offensive weapon system derived from two theories in particular. The weapon system would not cross the hyperspace threshold, but would instead seek to cause a real-space disturbance which leads to hyperspace in the point of impact. The stresses that such a weapon could impart on shields and armor would be significant. Our scientists are exited about the prospect, and have begun to finalize the incorporation of the various theories into a unified whole. Work on a prototype device has started.

Veithan Space

The Veithan industrial complex was among the most developed in known space. The Empire had always believed that a powerful navy was a necessity to safeguard the state and its interests wherever they may exist. As a result, it did not take a great deal of effort to ramp up production to war time levels. Veithan shipyards were currently operation in war footing, work being carried out around the clock. Every military shipyard in the empire was either at full capacity or close enough to it.

The first batch of construction was nearly finished, and although no dreadnoughts, battleships or drone carriers were part of the first wave, there was a significant amount of firepower present nonetheless. Each shipyard was abuzz with activity, an indication that if the Empire was not going to war it was taking the defense of its interest very seriously. The tax increase which the government had implemented was meant to guide even more murans into the Veithan production complex. The civilian response was positive for the most part, the fate of earth a reminder of the threats which their nation faced.

The Myheri and Manasan star nations were silent, undisturbed by expanding Veithan might. The relations between the star nations were relatively warm, for a variety of reasons. It was Veithan provided planetary shields that protected their home worlds from mechanoid attack. Even now six Veithan made orbital weapon platforms orbited the Myheri capital world while four orbited the Manasan capital planet. Both nations owed a significant amount of murans to the Veithan government. Nonetheless, the Veithan government was not in a terrible rush to receive that wealth. Some of the payment had started with the building of the devices, but others had been rendered by granting the Veithan empire certain concessions.

The Myheri and Manasan star nations would not have allowed the Veithan presence to expand nearer to their territories without extraordinary circumstances taking place. Those circumstances had taken place with the threat of the Covenant of God and the appearance that the entire galaxy would be plunged into war. Suddenly, the fear of the Veithans at their door step was not as frightening as unknown invaders breaking down the gates. The appearance of the mechanoids had only cemented matters, and now directly or not the fates of the Myheri and Manasan star nations were linked at the survival of their powerful neighbor.

The concessions that the smaller nations had given the Veithan Empire were several, moving from the miniscule to the surprising. Chief among them was the ceding of a single uninhabited star system to the Veithan empire in order to establish a “mutual defense” base. It was here where the so called “rapid reaction forces” were to be based. Another concession was allowing the Veithan empire to expand into systems that while unoccupied were within strategic distances of their spheres of influence. In exchange for these and other concessions, the Myheri and Manasan star nations had been granted access to weaponry and technology that otherwise they would never have been able to purchase from the empire, some at a reduced cost. It had been a reasonable arrangement, and all three nations were benefiting for the increase in trade and a myriad of other ways. The Veithan Empire was of course the chief benefactor, but that was to be expected. It was also taking the largest share of the risk. The Veithan Empire had plans within plans.

Veithan Empire
Ashara System, Ashara III

Ashara III was a beautiful world, dominated by river valleys and a fair share of mountain chains. Nonetheless it was best known for having been the birth place of modern Veithan ground force tactics. It was also well known for having been the birthplace of the assault unit concept, and to this day still produced and developed a significant amount of the assault units of the empire. The assault units had been born out a time where the idea of orbital bombardment had become a bit of a taboo. In order to secure landing zones for Veithan ground forces and deal with heavy concentrations of armor, a design carrying powerful weapons, sensors and armor was needed.

It had been an Asharan concept which had won the military over, even if the scale involved and its reliance on automation in order to allow it to be displaced to a target area made a stir at the time. Presently, Veithan assault units were feared sights on the battlefield, their combination of mobility, firepower and durability called “unmatched”. Nonetheless, they were far from perfect and were most vulnerable to the very thing they had been once built to replace. No ground construct could survive a prolonged duel with a naval target. Assault Units were meant to function beneath orbital superiority, and while extremely durable their active and passive defenses were ill equipped to deal with orbital bombardment. Nonetheless, in their own element the massive firepower and durability of an assault unit was certainly to be respected.

Currently, the Empire was considering whether their designs were up to the task of dealing with enemies real or imagined. The answer remained yes, although like any military design some upgrades could certainly be made. The issue of firepower could not be touched, many believed that the largest assault units carried too much firepower to begin with, and adding more to it would simply turn them into orbital artillery. The firepower of a HAU for example was meant to deal with anything on the ground, and its primary and secondary armament could do that easily enough against any threat the Empire was currently aware of. Their active defenses could be improved, but nearly all internal space was used already. The debate went on between various engineering and design firms as they all sought ways to improve the designs.

In the end, it was decided that a host of minor changes could be made in order to improve the larger constructs. Furthermore, two new proposed designs were sent along to Veitha III. They were a stop gap measure, and while neither were truly necessary in the eyes of many. It was better to be safe than sorry. Besides, with the money being thrown around to the navy…

Veithan Space
Mulaya III

The diplomatic office was working overtime as they sought an elegant solution to the Empire’s newest acquisition of real state. The conference had thrown a multitude of ideas, but one kept coming up as the most appealing and elegant solution. The recent accord between the Empire and the Grand Empire afforded certain possibilities. A consensus was slowly formed, their findings and recommendations passed along to the President.

In orbit of the world, a group of Veithan vessels in orbit pulled away from their holding points and accelerated away towards the outer system. The group was dominated by six large transports, eight smaller transports and a group of escort ships. The ships reached their chosen point and as one vanished into hyperspace. Their course was round about, having no less than six distinct vector changes. Their destination was unknown.

"Captain, the planet appears habitable, but we are getting strange energy readings from it". Hekrit narrowed his eyes in a gesture of curiosity "what kind of readings?".
"Well they look like what the scanners pick up in an inhabited system".
Hekrit stared at the screen in disbelief
aliens he thought. That was indeed a worrying prospect, if the readings were correct then this planet could be as well defended as Retik or Teskit, and what's more it could be part of a larger empire, and that could mean he had opened up a can of worms on the whole confederacy...
But, if this was just one planet, just some sort of one-system fiefdom, that would not be any trouble, and the rewards of conquering an already industrialised system would be... well, it had never happened before, but Hekrit expected that it could be a great opportunity.
"Set a course for the systems asteroid belt, we will take cover in there and launch a probe to the planet to ascertain as much information as we can."
[OOC: Hold up, there. One AU is well within any sensor detection envelope. My sensor officers aren't blind, y'know. :P]

NRS Oppenheimer, Ix'agal orbit

"Conn, sensors. Unidentified ship entering the system, less than one AU away. Unknown design, but power output and weapons ratios are consistent with a warship. Its roughly equivalent in power to a light destroyer. Designate contact Sierra-274."

"Sensors, Conn, aye. Comms, Conn, hail Sierra-274 and route the communication to my headset."

"Aye."

"Unidentified vessel, this is Captain Borodin of the Nashtar Republic cruiser Oppenheimer. You have entered restricted space. Identify yourselves and state your business."
"Captain we are recieving a transmission".
Hekrit nearly jumped out of his seat. Then grudgingly realised it was foolhardy to think the other ships would not notice him.
"They are speaking English, sir (I'm assuming you speak English), it's a language the humans on Montezuma used".
"HUmans?, running an interstellar power, ha!" he then remembered that the Floaters were technically human, at least in broad terms. This made sense, in fact, the Montezumans all had a legend about them coming from the sky, from some sort of heaven or something, these ships must be from the power that originally seeded Montezuma.
"What did the Montezumans call their heaven-type place?"
"Earth, sir".
Hekrit nodded "open a channel".
"Earthian ship, we were unaware that this system was part of your territory. I am Hekrit grey-tooth of the sovereighn confederacy of Itsil. We wish to..." he paused "..exchange information".

"Hekrit grey-tooth, I am Commodore Williams of the United Protectrates Navy, 3rd Crusier group. I'm afraid this isn't a Earth ship. We are an indepenent human realm. If you come in with weapons powered down we'll be happen to exchange data."

The Commodore stood upright.

"Call the Altantians. We got more aliens. Make sure the Republic got that." He said.

"Yes Sir."

"Funny, seems we get along better with other specis than we do with our own you know. Bet there's some deep reason for that. Maybe we been away from Terra to long or something... All Well. Call up a color guard, I'll invite this Grey-Tooth on ship for a face to face. Over up anything over classified, you know the drill."

Al-Quadim System

"Veithan shuttle, you are cleared for docking bay Blue-6A."
The shuttle approached the mamoth Battle Carrier. Currently modified for transit, it was a sleek, powerful craft, its liquidly looking hull twinkling with the reflection of the myriad of stars around them.
The shuttle was near the hull now and saw the hull ripple in front of them and suddenly formed an opening. They flew through it and the atmospheric shields. They touched down on a spacious landing field.

Admiral Tjoerhom and her retinue waited for them. She greeted Admiral Stone cordially, and then led him to her quarters for dinner.
The corridors were impeccably clean and were lighted in a pleasant way, very unlike a more conventional perception of warships.
The utter lack of any physical interaction devices or monitors seemed to spike some interest in Admiral Stone and his colleagues.

Finally, they entered Admiral Tjoerhom's quarters. It was an exquisitely furnished suite, with the typically high ceilings their people enjoyed.
"Admiral Stone, thanks for coming. I hope you enjoy it," she said and motioned for all to sit down.

<<Good, do it.>>

<<Now, to this Al-Quadim matter.>>
<<We still wait for a word by Admiral Tjoerhom. We could profit from a outpost there quite well. I hope they decide swiftly.>>

(OOC:Our playwrites are very skilled)
The Union will be dispatching a vessel carrying a diplomat, a historical advisor, and a drama critic who will be willing to view the show. We will dispatch 1 cruiser and 2 escorts to the system.

We are also interested in opening diplomatic relations.

::::::Emperor's command bunker, Carulan::::::

"You're sure the reports from the probe are accurate?"

"Yes. The Silliconoids seem to have keels laid for several heavy warships."

"Deploy the first and third fleets to deal with them at once."

::::::::Small apartment, Hudson's capital city:::::::::

"I managed to find a lightly guarded transport route for Flast to set the bomb on."

"How lightly guarded?"

"An air patrol every two hours, and a foot patrol every hour. More than enough time to set the bomb."

"Why is it so lightly guarded?"

"It's used to ferry small supplies from the spaceport to the Hajr airbases. With so few Ouster troops on planet, they need their forces to guard more important areas."

"A minor warning though, the road is used by civillians from time to time."

"I'll rig the bomb to be sensitive to high pressure only. That way only a Hajr supply truck would set it off."

Scimitar, the team leader, spoke up.

"Get to work immediatly, go after dark, and take one of the heat shielding camoflage suits that victor's people managed to slip us."

:::::::Small road, 400 miles north of Hudson's capital:::::::::
A figure moved in the dark. Flash knew he only had one hour before a

Hajr foot patrol moved along the transport road, so he moved quickly, burying the mine, and getting out of the area without being seen.

on his way out, he hid a small remote sensor to monitor the area, since they couldn't have an observer like last time.

The trap was set, all the team needed now was for someone to walk into it.

-/ ooc I assume you are travelling by foot or vehicle, because an aircraft fast enough to cross 400 miles in under an hour back to the safety of the city would almost certainly be searched- and there's pretty much no way your spies would be able to get a fuckin' aircraft, so I'm gonna assume that your people are out in the boonies, on their way home, when the bomb goes off. There's a reason I kept my work to the cities... If you want your people walking back through the woods, which would take a LONG time, then please say so and I will edit the post.

Hudson
Watchan Forest, 200 miles outside of Capital

Flash sat calmly at the driver's seat of the small rental car. The walk back from the target had been tense, but he'd trusted in his stealth-suit, and had gotten to the small country road where he'd parked his car, hid the suit carefully, and began driving.

Long fucking drive to get back to the city...

He smiled. Back in the safe-house, his coworkers were monitoring the target area via the remote camera. Flash wondered briefly how they were avoiding having the communications signal to the small remote tracked- he'd have to ask Scimitar when he got back.

It was about an hour now. The Hajr patrol would be passing through the area about now. His eyes on the road, he listened to the audio feed.

Boom.

He smiled. The patrol must have been travelling by APC- sensible, out on these long backroads, where it would take days for a manipule of foot troops to get from the city to the air bases. Well, no matter- a supply truck, or an expensive APC loaded with a platoon of Hajr gropos, it still sent an effective message.

An hour later, he saw it, out across the forest sky- Maybe a mile ahead of him, a bright light hanging in the sky, rushing towards him. Fuck. Dragoon patrol. He would only have seconds to work. Goddamnit, they must be sweeping all the roads in the area. He slammed the steerring wheel hard right, pulling the car off the road. The engine block will be hot, they'll still see it... and If they catch me, they'll find the stealthsuit and I am fucked.

Vaulting from the vehicle, he grabbed his 'suit, struggling into it. He just managed to pull the mask on and sprint into the woods before a spotlight fell on his vehicle.

Oh shit, oh shit, ohshit- this was a fucking suicide missions... fuck scimitar fuckhim...

He shook his head, and let his training take over. The Ousters would have sensors- motion, infrared, nightvision, electromagnetic. He'd need to be clever. If he stayed still, they'd sweep the area and catch him. If he moved, and wasn't careful, they'd pick it up, come in on the VTOL, and catch him.

Behind his position, his car was quickly checked. It's still-cooling engine block was all the evidence the soldiers needed- someone had not wanted to be found. They began to fan out, in their matte grey combat armor with it's helmet sensor suite and their brutal Fletchers. They were faster, stronger, and more enduring than Flash- and they were all coming for him.

Overhead, a second VTOL was buzzing, providing air support, and sweeping the area with powerful sensors. If Badger wasn't incredibly smart and careful, he'd be caught- and then it would be over.

:::::::::Hudson Forest::::::::
(OOC: I sent Flash, not Badger. Badger is the watcher, Flash is the demolitions expert)
The "Surprise that he had left in the rental car would go off soon, temporarily distracting the Hajr troops

Flash moved slowly through the woods, moving just fast enough to not get picked up by a sweep, and just slow enough to not get picked up by the motion sensors.

He checked his pistol

This won't do much against their armor, but four or five shots can take one down. Sprint should've done more recon

He moved into the forest, the suit shielding him from motion and heat sensors.
He heard a dull thud, the other bomb in the car's trunk had gone off.
Here's my chance

He picked up his speed a little, but still moved slow enough so that the suit could block heat emissions, and stop motion scans.

<< Tac Squad 15 reports detonation of vehicle, this is AOK certain, enemy is in vicinity.>>

<< Voice Heard, TS 15. Dispatching TS 16, 17, 18, and 19 to your position.>>

<<Motion is coming up null, target must be moving slowly.>>

<< Scan on light amplification. Target must be stealthed against thermal or the sattalites would be tracking him.>>

<< Voice Heard, Command. We obey.>>

Two good soldiers had died when the car went off, but there were still ten men and women in the team- and they had no gumption about speed. They began to move through the forest, sweeping their immediate area with high-powered active sensors: Not something they'd do in a combat zone, but with no fear of being detected by orbiting enemy warships here, they could broadcast as much as they wanted. If they came near the target, he'd be detected.

The Hajr had confirmed, with the car's destruction, that the target was in the area. Four more VTOLs, each loaded with troops, would be in the area in only a few minutes-- and it was 200 miles to the relative safety of the city.

Flash moved at a crawl. He was well trained, so he heard the footsteps of the Ouster soldier behind him. 100 meters, maybe less. He'd show up on the scanners any second now...
