It's the engineer's weapon in Team Fortress. It's supposed to suck, the engineer is intended to serve his team by building sentry guns, fixing others' armor, giving out ammo, etc. Not by killing. Other classes fill that role.

9mm fires at...I(Off the top of my head) something like 750 fps, your average M-16A2, 1250 fps. God forbid someone get hit with a nail travelling 180 fps. cower ye enemies of the blue team, for your deaths are assured with the railgun of infinite pwning DOOM.

Typically, railguns fire slugs which are just bullets like any gun has, minus the propellant.

The projectiles of that rail gun have less then half the muzzle velocity of American Civil War era muskets. "Suck" is a major understatment.

9mm Luger ~ 350 m/s (~1100 fps) and 5.56x45 ~ 970 m/s (~3200 fps).

Depends how big the nails are. If they're great big railroad spikes they'd hurt at that speed...

The muzzle says to me "not even roofing nail size", so I doubt any hurt comes from that thing that a normal nailgun couldn't do.

Probalby nailgun would hurt worse, since most non pneumatic nailguns use .22 blanks as propellant, IIRC.

It's the worst gun in TF, so bad that killing someone with it earns you major bragging rights, and it takes dozens of shots to kill anyone--so yes, saying that it sucks is being charitable.

So it's actually like this POS? Note: Not actual Q2 Blaster. It's for the (A-1 SUP4R!!!) Quake 3 Mod 'Generations'.
