The Hajr soldier was catching up to the unknown enemy, he was tense with the anticipation of finding his prey.
He never saw it coming
the projectile from Flash's gun went through his faceplate, and killed him instantly.
Flash moved over and picked up the soldiers rifle. He knew there was no escape now, it was time to die for his emperor.
Flash hid behind a small tree, ready to pounce and take as many enemies as he could with him.

<< Breathstealer, Shinah's dead, fucker got her... Target location transmitted.>>
<< Fuck, fuck- she's fucking dead, lifesigns are flat...>>
<< All units, converge!>>
Gunships landed troops all around the spies' newly detected position. He was surrounded, now, and their were a half dozen gunships in the air.
<< We have him on thermal, we are picking up a hot gun. Target located. Orders, sargeant? we can paste him from the air.>>
<< Hold fire, we'll handle him.>>
The inital roup of nine Hajr troops attacked, coordinated and precise in their light powerarmor and command network. Flash spun from behind the tree, riddling the first soldier to come into his view with explosive fleccettes. The soldier tumbled backwards, noiselessly, and lay still. Flash grimaced- he didn't see and blood. Diving under cover, he checked the weapon. He wasn't familiar with the controls, but he knew that Fletchers had to be set to penetrate armor, or the rounds would explode on impact- which wouldn't suffice to kill a powerarmored soldier. The controls were labelled in Freespeak, which he spoke just enough of to figure out which control toggled penetration.
He rose again.
Shit. four of them.
He got off a quick volley, stitching a line of small holes through the front of the nearest Dragoon. The soldier' quaked and spewed blood from the pinholes as the rounds detonated, turning his or her chest into a fine red soup.
The whine of another Fletcher filled his world as the Ouster troops returned fire with machinelike precision.
Flash screamed- red pain filled his world. He looked down, and realised he was lying on the ground.
My legs- they shot off my legs.
He looked up, bleary with pain, as an Ouster approached him. He had only seconds to act before they would have him....

Flash thought he had done well, but it was all over now
Only one thing left to do now......
He reached into his pocket and set off one last bomb.......
The flash consumed the KES agent entirely, leaving no way to identify him. The bomb also exploded outward, killing the Ouster soldier

Scimitar took the memory disc out of the portable viewscreen that was linked to Flash's remote sensor.
He then placed a small explosive charge on the viewer, threw it off to the side, and walked quickly out of the ally, making sure he was not seen.
The people who lived nearby wouldn't even hear the small thud of the evidence being disposed of.

Hudson
Capital City
The Hajr's hold on Hudons was generally light, but the police headquarters in Capital City was a veritable fortress. Armored walls, regular patrols, and a large population of local cops and officers all combined to make the facility an imposing target indeed- and those were only the visible defenses.
Inside the grand building, a meeting room was in use. It was a compotent, somewhat cluttered environment, where the Flatland Security Operations department met. They were largely planet-born Ousters, from the ranching andm mining planets of the Elysium Sector, with a crop of local officers who had decided to maintain order regardless of whose flag flew over the town square. Suffice to say, they had all been tested discreetly by Blackeyes telepaths.
"Boundmen, I believe we are facing foreign-sponsered agents. As evidence, I cite the extensive usage of mines and explosives no longer available on Hudson, and most importantly, the stealthsuit- gear which simply should not have gotten through customs. That being the case, we must trace these attacks to their source."
"Michaels, Hina, Dayn- you are to evaluate the explosives used and find out their possible sources. you are also to requisition chemical sniffers from Eketrina so we can find concentrations of these explosives more easily."
"Quissa, Ran, Passat- you are to trace the origins of the rental car we found. Follow that lead as far back as possible."
"The rest of you, examine the situation,I want full reports on possible angles to approach this from. We'll hunt these people down, and then we'll elminate them."

"Captain, I must voice my opinion. Meeting with these humans would be too great a risk. I suggest we scuttle the ship, for the greater good of the Confederacy". Lietenant Treksis white-eye stepped up beside the captain.frigidmagi wrote:"Hekrit grey-tooth, I am Commodore Williams of the United Protectrates Navy, 3rd Crusier group. I'm afraid this isn't a Earth ship. We are an indepenent human realm. If you come in with weapons powered down we'll be happen to exchange data."
The Commodore stood upright.
"Call the Altantians. We got more aliens. Make sure the Republic got that." He said.
"Yes Sir."
"Funny, seems we get along better with other specis than we do with our own you know. Bet there's some deep reason for that. Maybe we been away from Terra to long or something... All Well. Call up a color guard, I'll invite this Grey-Tooth on ship for a face to face. Over up anything over classified, you know the drill."
"Then I must disagree, lietenant, and I am the ranking officer. Now that these humans have seen what our ships look like they will find us, it is better they were our friends than our enemies."
"But captain, if they board the ship and overpower us they will have star-maps leading straight to Itsil, we should send a message back to fleet command and destroy this vessel!".
"Are you questioning my orders, lieutenant?. We will meet with them to exchange information, at the first sighn of hostile intent we will scuttle the ship, for the greater good of the Confederacy". He turned to an ensighn "open a channel."
"We will, of course, submit to your request, Commodore, we are powering down primary weapons and heading towards your position now".

"We thank you, Hekrit grey-tooth. Come on in the water's fine. I'd like to extend an invitation for a face to face meeting. You may chose the ship, if you are uncomfortable meeting in mine." Commodore Williams replied. We will, of course, submit to your request, Commodore, we are powering down primary weapons and heading towards your position now".
"Are the Republics getting this?" He asked the Com officer.
"Yes Sir, Loud and Clear."
"Good, invite them along to. Prepare standard cultural exchange data and info packs on known powers... Better leave out the astrograph maps until we can discuss an exchange of them. Keep us at yellow alert, no targeting scans of their ships unless they do something... Hostile."

"Thankyou, if we appear tense it is simply because we simply have not met a new power for some time now. I believe we should meet in my ship, the hangar will be able to accomodate both of us adequately, I shall see you there. Grey-tooth out".
Lietenant white-eye turned to him "they're obviously none too bright, allowing you to choose the ship gives us an advantage, even when they could have forced us to meet on their terms". Hekrit ignored the first officer and turned to him sharply "get an encrypted message to the confederacy, inform them of the situation as soon as possible."

Lastport
Lord Protector Sir Joshua Mattews looked out on the new Alliance Ballroom has it was called. It was 300 by 150 meters with 4 openings as was traditional. The roof was almost 20 meters high, higher than normal for the underground dwelling of the UP.
The doors were at North, South, East and West as always. The Eastren wall had the rising Terran sun with terra right in front craved above it, nevermind that on Lastport the sun rose in the west. On the North door was craved a vibro sword held up by a power armored gaunlet a pair of crossed rifles beneath. The Westren door had the rising Lastport sun with Lastport before it. The Southren door an open book of law with shattered chains. Written above the book
"With fair Law, all are free." In iron crusive scirp. All the craving were enchanced with various metals and gems. It was unusual but not unheard of.
Near the roof were craved faces, each one representing the specis of that joined the alliance. The specis of the K.S.E, Altantis and the Republic as well has several human faces. The Lord Portector looked up at those faces. Strange that the UP was the only totally human power within the alliance.
The walls were artfully craved with ships and wildlife murals. Hiding the screens and scanners that were a fact of life in any of the UP public areas. There were blank uncraved areas, for future members of the alliance. On the North wall however were craved a line of men and women. Lord and Lady Protectors, the great ones. From the first Lord Protector to Lady Protector Rebecca the finial unionifier.
He took a deep breath. If when he died there still was a United Protectrates, he could be sure of taking a spot on that wall. However that was an open question the way the galaxy seemed to work these days.
He shrugged shaking himself. He had invited the Union and the Shi to watch the preceedings and he knew that the K.S.E and the republic representives would be here soon as well as the Altantian for the formal signing.

"Commodore, do you think it wise to go aboard an alien ship?" Captain Stevens asked."Thankyou, if we appear tense it is simply because we simply have not met a new power for some time now. I believe we should meet in my ship, the hangar will be able to accomodate both of us adequately, I shall see you there. Grey-tooth out".
"Well, I'll bring the marines along. Have the Lady Macbeth lauch fighters in a welcoming formation and stop worring. Losing one Commodore is hardly going to hurt the UP Navy. We outnumber them, they're in our ballcourt, let them get any scrap of resurance they need. Just makes things go easier for all of us." Commodore Williams answered.

Alliance Council representative from the Republic Triinka Grrchan arrived on time as usual, one of her four arms carrying a large attache case and the smaller pair holding up a briefing document that she read as she walked. The Zambaran was joined by Ambassador Shelton for this important event. She turned her furred face to Shelton as they came through the south door, and he smiled broadly. He enjoyed his work, but most satisfying of all were the fruits of it. The two diplomats made their way over to the Lord Protector.

"It is an architectural marvel, though perhaps a tad ostentatious. Though in diplomacy, show is generally what its all about," said Shelton, winking at the last.
[OOC: Shift's over now. I'm going to hang around the library for another hour and a half waiting for my mom to get off work so I can go home. I'll post up until then. See you guys in two weeks when I get back from England. The Republic had better be here when I get back. I'll try to get on AOHell tonight and post concerning the summit and the fleet actions against the Overseer.]
Edit: Okay, shift's not over. My relief hasn't showed up. You'd think a monk would be more hardworking. Then again, he might be off doing something requiring hard work for that very reason, knowing him...

Hectori walked in worried that he was late for the signing some minor engine trouble had slowed the progress of his ship. He nerviously glanced arround looking for a familiar face, still not entierly sure of human group mannerisms. "damn" he thought to himself "why do humans all have to look so similar?"

Ambassador Sibedon walked into the room, a little late, but his crew was not sure of the region, and they got lost for abourt half an hour.
"Hello everyone!" he said, his skin flushing black. He was a little nervous. This was his first time ever actually seeing anyone in person.
"I apologize for my tardiness, my navigation officer's english isnt very good. he thought you said Beta 9, you actually said beta 12"

"Thank you very much" Hectori said taking the glass, then instead of drinking it he gently began pouring some it in to his gills some how mannaging to not spill a single drop. "Ah much better due to our hazardous flight I have been unable to make time for a um.." he paused searching for the word "wetting down, though I fear that is not quite an accurate translation."frigidmagi wrote:"Of course." The Dracks hadn't been expected, but the Lord Portector was willing to roll with the punches. The more the merrier. Of course at this rate a group of belly dancing bald Floaters with the Political Prince of Monocora would pop up, the Krell would show up, annouce their switiching to communism and he would sport wings."I apologize for my tardiness, my navigation officer's english isnt very good. he thought you said Beta 9, you actually said beta 12"
"Not at all. Would you like something to drink or eat? It must have been a long trip." Was all he said.

"Please think nothing of it. Mr. Hectori may I introduce... I'm afraid I didn't catch your name." He said to the walking lizard."Thank you very much" Hectori said taking the glass, then instead of drinking it he gently began pouring some it in to his gills some how mannaging to not spill a single drop. "Ah much better due to our hazardous flight I have been unable to make time for a um.." he paused searching for the word "wetting down, though I fear that is not quite an accurate translation."
