Aren't there other issues, even on the roadways, that are a bit more deserving of crusading?
No, frankly there are not.
Thank you for the rational, logically backed response.
Since you made no attempt whatsover to explain why other issues would deserve so much more attention that this one should be put on the back burner, your post deserved no more response than it received.
I'll bear that in mind next time the completely sober SOB flies past me doing 90 in a rainstorm, locks up his brakes, causes a 10-car pileup that kills 5 people, and gets off with nothing because he wasn't drunk.
The rate at which such accidents occur is much smaller than the rate at which drunk drivers kill people. Don't be an idiot.

It sounds like you enjoy your drinking. I hope you are not the kind of imbecile who also gets behind the wheel after "having a few".
For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little planet Cybertron.
But now, you shall witnesss ... its dismemberment!

I'm willing to cut anyone a break on the first offense if nobody is hurt.
But if you get caught a second time, you should forfeit your car and have
your license revoked for 3 years. Get caught a 3rd time and its a life time
ban from driving.

What is the legal blood alcohol limit for you?

Here it is 0.02% and frankly as I see it anything but 0.00% is too much.

Now I am no stranger to alcohol, I enjoy a drink or several, vine and beer.

But for an example:

If I was to drink today what I usually drink when at a party or something.

Say about 8-10 beers there is no way in hell I am driving the day after.

If I have pressing business that requires a car I would get a fucking TAXI or skip the drink.

Right, I see. No, really.

Right, and you can support this with non-biased, non-emotional facts? Please do so before kicking in the ad hominems.
It sounds like you enjoy your drinking. I hope you are not the kind of imbecile who also gets behind the wheel after "having a few".
You know, I thought this board of all places would be above using appeals to emotion to make a case. I guess not.
