You couldn't recognize who was who anyway. I didn't even realize it was Orlando Bloom till you guys told me, really.

It was good, but I have the DVD and have never had the urge to watch it. Strange.

Maybe it's a little too good; warfilms are supposed to be bloody, not entertaining. Generally speaking I don't have a fun time watching war films anyway, so I tend not to get an urge to watch it - even though I have it.

I watched it a lot, does that have some sort of meaning?

And why were all of the Rangers nearly bald? Makes it hard to recognize them. Orlando should've kept his long elven locks.

For safety reasons, military personnel usually have a buzzcut.

Rangers, however, usually get to grow their hair out.

Wasn't what my copy of Bowden's Black Hawk Down said. They fired salvos; only lucky hits were scored however.

Untrue.

Bowden actually allocates a page or so discussing how the Rangers all got the typical cut, but the "D-boys" got to dress civilian and have civilian haircuts.

Yeah that really happened.

And look at the part just before that Somali kid shoots his dad. The guy playing Sergeant Yurek, when he is leaving the class room waves to the kids and teacher.

And his Ring finger is down and his hand is forming the gesture for Two in the Pink, One in the Stink.

You have it the wrong way around, US Army Rangers have pretty much the strictest requirements/tradition of short hair in the US military.

For the work they do, crewcuts are needed for maximum effectiveness. Unless, of course, they have to be posing as civilians where such a look may draw attention.

I think that's what Striderteen meant; salvos were fired but a hit was always fatal.
