Lol. Someone said this was kinda lifted off the game.. However, i've always wondered if they have they said which state this Spring Field is in.

It's not Kentucky. Springfield is somewhere on the Pacific Coast. The town is by the ocean and the sun sets over the water. That's been consistent throghout the series run.

So? That's where they origionated from, that doesn't mean that they couldn't have moved west.

And Captain Picard said that lasers won't penetrate the E-D's navigational deflectors. The undeniable visual evidence of the sun setting over the ocean near Springfield overrides anything some narrator said in an episode that's not part of the continunity anyway.

It should be noted that Kentucky does have a Springfield and a Shelbyville rather close to each other, although they aren't exactly neighbors.

One shouldn't be looking at the Simpsons for perfect geographic accuracy, though.

And don't forget the massive badlands with oilfields.

One of the running jokes in the whole series is that they've never pinned down where Springfield is. In the episode where they go to Brazil, Lisa's pen-friend says that he couldn't reply to her letters because he didn't know which state she was in.

And when they come back from Florida, they pull out a map of all the states they're persona non grata in. Every state on the map is crossed out.

I wouldn't worry too much about springfields location.
