Jedi Battle Meditation

Post by Spartan »

This power though cool doesn't seem like a supposed light side power. For example in Tales of the Jedi Naomi Sunrider uses it, and apparently it causes your target to fall into a murderous rage and kill their friends, etc. Naomi use it to great affect to essentially walk out of a maximum security prison by causing a murderous riot among the prison guards.

What are your opinions on this?

It is very extreme compared to saying "You will go home and rethink your life". I mean you go into a berserked state for crying out loud. It must and most definitly be a Dark Side power.

It's actually no different from Mind Trick 3 in JK2. I remember that Mind Trick is classified as neutral, although Mind Trick just makes the guy your ally, rather than sending him into a murderous rage.

Yoshi, I believe all the force powers are neutral, but sending people (even enemies) seems a little extreme for a Jedi. :D

It just seems evil to turn your enemys against each other like that.

Not particularly. Jaina Solo does that to Yuuzhan Vong ships all the time, and when you're outnumbered, say ten to one, turning a few guys into temporary allies is better than getting your ass handed to you. Especially if you're sans lightsabre.

Which, goes back to the fact that there is no darkside. What difference does it make if you massacre them with the force or with your bare hands.

Force Powers aer neither Dark nor Light it just depends on your intentions,
a man can use a gun to defend his family or go out and masacre a school, still the same gun only the act was different.

Personally I pray for the day that Lucas reads some of KJA's work, and then declares that it's not even official.... A guy's gotta have hope, right?

It's all FILTHY LIES I TELL YA! LIES! LIESSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Some of the stupid nonsense that comes out of the EU. What was that incident when a bunch of frigging Jedi apprentices manage to push a Star Destroyer out of Yavin?

Fucking idiocy.

I read the comic. As Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas presented it to Luke and Kam Solusar, it is definitely a lightside skill. However, Dark Jedi has something similar, so it is possibly the same power used with the Dark side instead. Above use was Dark Side, of course.
Star Trek vs. Star Wars, Extralife style.

as i have said before i no power is exclusivly light or dark it only depends how u use it. to make a drug/arms dealer go home and rethink his life is ok, making enemis butcher each other is kinda evil when she coulda simply made them forget she was there.

I agree, my point really is that here is one of the greatest Jedi who ever lived casually using the so called 'Dark side' but no one calls her on it. To me saying that someone has fallen to the 'Dark side' is a cop out; ie. 'the devil made me do it'.
