Nope, I am completely aware that little whiners like you will take any insult as a lisense to stop debate and start screeching.
I could have sworn I saw a flame war before he left, which is what I said you were partially responsible for. Oh wait, yeah I did see a flame war, nice dodge with a joke of an attempt to get under my skin.
Why would I care if I get under your skin? You seem to ascribe a great deal of involvement to all this; all I'm doing is insulting you for trying to derail a thread with your 'YOUR A MEANIE HEAD' bullshit.
Oh no! I started a flamewar! Pardon me while I don't really care if people get overly emotional over an insult in text on a screen.
Would you expect any less if you talked to him like that in RL? Would you care then? Or you just don't care full stop?
Probably wouldn't care too much. Why should I? He's being openly dishonest; am I supposed to have compassion for that sort of bullshit?
This may shock your primitive brain, but, to quote Kynes, I debate with a strong undercurrent of insults and belittling to keep myself awake while facing the less intelligent posters, like yourself.
But why? Because you were bullied when you were younger? Because you're so quickly frustrated? Whatever the reason, you've got a shitty attitude.
Only towards liars and idiots, and those who whine 'YOU'RE A MEANIE HEAD', trying to hijack a thread in the process.
Only a child like mind would think that having the upper hand in a debate is license to mock and belittle his opponent, then share no responsibility for the ensuing fight.
Only a pompous moron tries to psychoanalyze someone based off text. What 'fight' am I supposed to take responsibility for? Crackpot screeching, whining, and running away? I take responsibility, because I, among others, proved he was completely full of shit, lying through his teeth, and generally being an asshole.
He wasn't being an asshole, he wasn't lying intentially nor is he full of shit. He just misunderstood you. Remember he was debating several people at the same time. Throw in the fact he was debating from work, and it wasn't surprising that he got a little confused...don't be a dropkick, be a little more understanding.
There's nothing to misunderstand in me repeatedly pointing out no one said what he claimed was being said. There's nothing to misunderstand in being shown the evidence. He flat out lied and, when caught, ran off screaming. I don't care what your misguided misinterpretation of honour tells you to do; he had erected a little wall of ignorance and was being a moron.
And your goading him had nothing to do with it, right? Loser.
Oh yea, I'm such a loser... Mmm hmmm... I'm suuuuuch a loser... But I'm not the one trying(And failing miserably) to psychoanalyze someone over the internet, because I'm a whiny bitch who doesn't like to see lying little fucks get insulted in a place with specific reference to 'Mocking stupid people'. Suuuure.
I'm not telling you you can't mock people, go right ahead. But you're an asshole for it.
Yep. I am an asshole. I point this out to people both online and RL. However, I am not the one trying to derail a thread by screeching and whining about someone not being nice enough.
Piss off, this thread has more important things to do than cater to your desperate attempt to build up a spine.
Nice psychoanalysis of my motives. Hypocrite.
Not really, I didn't say it was because you are uncomfortable with having a two inch dick.

Do end this ridiculous hijack, though. I'm an 'asshole', as you put it. I state clearly what I think of people, to their face. When I catch them lying, I say so where they can hear it. When I feel someone is stupid, I tell them that. And when someone is acting like a troll in a thread, they will be mocked. I don't care what you think about it.

This argument will end now. I want to salvage the thread, but one more post will make me lock it, because damn if it's not tedious to split. Just let it lie guys.

With this sentiment in mind, I wish to ask the following questions to all Aussies:

Given that the Liberal party has come out with this, and the Labor party has offered no resistance, what has this done to your perception of our society and where it's headed? While I may vote for the Democrats who oppose this, I doubt my vote will do anything. Are you disappointed, or apathetic?

Hasnt really changed my perception of australian society, and I've always knew that the Liberals & Labor follow what they thing the, majority of, voters want especially when it is getting close to an election.

But remember, Aussie politics is very prone to backbreacking backflips, so when society(or a more vocal minority group) makes it an issue, they will address it.

The Democrats are responcible for the mess of exemptions and restrictions on the GST. I'm not forgiving them of that.
I doubt my vote will do anything.
Your vote does count, but and your preferences votes really count.

Non-aussies probably arent going to realize the difference between your primary vote & preferences. The system is way to complex to explain at 1:22am. But preference votes are what put a party in power or not.
Are you disappointed, or apathetic?
Apathetic, what else? Yet another law that probably isnt going to directly effect me.

Well this is what happens to the bad Aussies when they try to backtrack on agreements on airlines...So behave yourselves or we will wreak Quantas and take over your airline industry :P

I have honestly begun to hate Australia. Australia is becoming a regressive, oppressive, top-heavy society, and the failure of any party to contest the Evil Liberal Party has basically fried the whole country. Labour hasn't had a policy in five years; maybe they're being paid off. Nothing will change, and Howards going to win, because in the end, Latham won't actually SAY anything other than 'you suck' or 'thats a bad idea'. Noone votes for that.

And the fact that people vote for Howard (who has screwed over *everyone*, one way or another, except big business) lowers my respect of the Australian even further. I wanna go HOME... to NZ :)

But then, I always vote for the last girl i slept with, so I'm not helping.

the Liberals may be in power federally, but every State government is Labor, IIRC.
