New sig

Post by Boyish-Tigerlilly »

I want to get permission, if it is allowed, to use this sig:

The Biblical God is more evil than any Nazi who ever lived, and Satan is arguably the hero of the Bible.

is it ok?

Ok, maybe for the others. Though I'm not very keen on the idea of comparing even the Biblical God to any Nazi. Though it is arguable that Satan at times was a hero of the bible.

That's a statement that can only be designed to insult a religion as a whole, not just the crazies who take the worst and distort the rest.

Yes, I am mildly offended.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

If you are quoting someone, it would be best if you gave them credit.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you have any business having such a potentially inflammatory sig given your relative non-participation in religious debates in SLAM.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

I thought I did say who said it. Shit oops.

Wong said this. I got it from one of the debates. I thought it was witty of him :)

That is why I asked first ;)

People put Mike's quotes in their sigs all the time. As long as you actually put it in quotation marks and credit it to him, I don't see a problem.

As for offending people: since Mike said it, chances are you're safe using it here.
