We've got a variant of this in the OTF. Just post your opinion in there.

Guld Goa Bowman from Macross Plus takes it, I think.

To keep the Ghost X-9 from attacking Isamu and generally ruining everything, Guld took off the limiters on the Brain Control System of the YF-21 (which spells brain damage right there), took massive damage in the resulting fight, then flew the YF-21 so fast the G forces squished his internal organs - even through the special UN Spacy flight suit which is designed to stop that sort of thing. He was going so fast that the wings of the YF-21 were *glowing* from the air friction... then his eyes exploded from the g-forces and he ran the YF-21 into the Ghost X-9, destroying them both.

One of my personal favorite macho deaths: Ivan "the Terrible" Antonov from In Death Ground. His command was shot to peices and was dying but he kept them together to reach home. The Bugs had sprung an ambush and were massacring his force with their new monitors. He could have got out but only at the cost of his covering ships. Instead he he orders them clear and charges them. His kamikaze run as described by his pupil Prescott:

Prescott felt Bichet's presence, but he couldn't take his eyes from the plot. Not even when his carriers flashed through the warp point, or when his battlecruisers followed. Not even when his flagship headed into the warp point . He stared into it, watching the abandoned units of Second Fleet's rearguard and their tattered umbrella of dying fighters as the pursing Bugs closed for the kill.

The last thing Raymond Prescott saw before Crete vanished into the warp point herself was TFNS Colorado, her weapons destroyed, her broken hull trailing atmosphere and water vapor and debris but no life
pods- never a life pod- as she redlined her surviving engines... and disapeared in an eye tearing boil oof light as she rammed one of those new monster ships head on.

It's go to be the best death scenes Weber has ever written. Only Madrigal's death run comes close.

Capt. Marcus and the Resolute In Exosquad:

(The Resolute is being hammered by blasts from the Neosapien Fleet.)

(The entire bridge is on fire. All personell are clearly dead or have already evacuated. The helm still stands clear above the flames. Capt. Marcus stands alone at the station.)

Capt: Marcus: "40 degrees left rudder... all warheads armed!"

Exotrooper Kaz Takagi(offscreen): "Captain!"

Marcus: "No! No, get away!"

(Kaz walks onto the bridge)
Kaz: "Not without you, sir! Admiral's orders!"

(Marcus pulls a gun on Kaz)

Marcus: "Get Back *koff, koff* As long as the Resolute can maneuver, she- she can still fight!!"

Kaz: "But Captain--"(Ducks as Marcus fires a blast over his head)

Marcus: "Leave! auuugh.... This -- this is still my bridge trooper! Go back and tell Winfield to watch!" (Kaz leaves, Marcus drops the gun)

(Pull back away from Marcus)

Marcus: "Tell him... Matthew Marcus... knew how... to die."

(The Resolute continues to take fire as Kaz's Exo-Wing flies off to rejoin the fleeing escape pods)

Kaz: "Sorry Admiral, the Captain wouln't leave! He said something about watching!"

(The Neosapien fleet continues to pound on the dying ExoCarrier as it increases speed to dive into the heart of the Neosapien Fleet. Finally, the Resolute goes up in a massive fireball, taking a chunk of the attacking fleet with it)

Wang dies? Is he the one who funks to that "ay, oh, let's go" song in the first episode (not the invitro, the Asian dude)

I can't beleive those donkeyfuckers cancelled that show. I thought it was good. Though their lack of budget clearly showed with all those ground episodes instead of fights in space.

And can someone explain to me what idiotic military organization wastes highly valuable pilots on infantry missions?

Oh, and Vader is the best. The music that accompanies his death almost makes me wanna cry :)

Nope Pags funks to that, and he died in the first episode 'Above and Beyond', also worthy of an honourable mention. Wang died in the final episode of the series.

Fox are bunch of fuckin donkey fucking morons. Bloody ass wipes! I hate those sons of bitches!

McQueen says it best: 'Now I have been coping an earfull of pilots bitchin' and moaning about being deployed as ground pounders. This isn't the Ariforce, this is the Marines, Space/Air, Sea and Ground MEU. You go where order and how ordered. Do I make myself clear?'

Now that was a commanding officer.

I still remember that hilarious part in one episode where Wang lampoons McQueen: "what if he was a plumber?"

"Okkkk ... this ones in the kithen ... im hear to fix your faucet ... so check your six!"

What happens in S:AAB last episode, btw? I missed them all after a certain point- the fates conspired against me.

Is the war resolved?

But I missed several episodes before that, unfortunately.

Anywhere I can download them off the net, btw?

Well then you just missed the last two;

'If they lay us done to rest...'

The 58th are sent as an advanced force to secure a landing area for the upcoming invasion fleet in preparation for Round Hammer. They land on the moon of the Chigs home planet. After taking care of the few Chig patroles they incounter an unknown alien. They manage to track it to ground to a vast birthing chamber. The 58th debate what to do, is this an ally of the Chigs? Is it the descendent of a long lost alien cilivisation? Should they warn it? Should they Kill it?

Coop tells them that if they don't have the dark hearts to do it, then he will, he goes down to the birthing chamber, is attacked by some Chigs....

I thought the Spock death was over the top. That he later came back to life was too much -- had to throw a serious BS flag on that one.

I remember that one. Antonov's superdreadnought rams an Arachnid monitor, buying some time.

He's done a few other ramming maneuvers (in Insurrection, he has a rebel superdreadnought ram a supermonitor).
