Terry Nichols could receive death sentence
BoTM / JL / MM / HAB / VRWC / Horseman
I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
That was not unexpected. Good riddance.

Ah you ass, the article says he could face the death sentance. It's talking about opening statements regarding his sentancing.

Still, it doesn't look promising that he'll get another 80 years in jail.Howedar wrote:Ah you ass, the article says he could face the death sentance. It's talking about opening statements regarding his sentancing.
Look at his face in the picture. He looks like he might even feel guilty!
Aw, shucks, who am I kidding? He feels guilty about the death sentence being waved around his head, not the ones he killed. What the fuck do you expect when you bomb a major building?

Personally I think they've blown it by executing McVeigh already and pushing to execute Nichols. As much as those two deserve(d) to be executed I'd much rather get ahold of everyone who was involved.
There's been lot of rumors of milita group types helping McVeigh out and I'd hate to see anyone get completely away with this stuff. With McVeigh already dead that pretty much leaves Nichols as the one who can squeal.
I thought he already did to a certain extent to keep the Feds from executing him but I tend to think that Oklahoma will be more likely to fry him than squeeze him for more information.
I also hate this portion of any trial:

Although, at least in this example they are trying to sway the punishment one way or another. It's when they do this stuff just so the victims can vent that it's really annoying and tiresome. The penalty phase is expected to include testimony from Nichols' mother, who will plead for her son's life, and family members of the victims who died when the blast detonated by executed bomber Timothy McVeigh ripped apart the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.

There were those rumors since the beginning, many of them started by way of the discredited John Doe the FBI were looking for. The attack wasn't terribly sophisticated or elaborate after all. So the possibility of co-conspirators is pretty low. I think at this point if there was more to be gained from Nichols they would have made a little more effort to work out a deal. As it is, it seems unlikely that there are any loose ends worth saving the bastard for.Tsyroc wrote:Personally I think they've blown it by executing McVeigh already and pushing to execute Nichols. First, it would have been nice to find out how McVeigh and Nichols paid for their weapons, ammonium nitrate, rental trucks, etc when neither had anything resembling a real job. Oh well, too late for that one.
Dope addicts (the injected drugs) don't have problems finding veins, it's finding veins that haven't collapsed and/ or aren't overgrown with scar tissue.

I believe the other Nichol's brother was investigated in regard to that. I'm still not sure if their was no evidence against him or simply not enough I don't know. Given that the shere about of people that want to offer loans, credit cards, and cash out the equity in homes (whatever the hell that means). I don't think it's too terribly hard for them to get their hands on some cash some how though.Elfdart wrote:First, it would have been nice to find out how McVeigh and Nichols paid for their weapons, ammonium nitrate, rental trucks, etc when neither had anything resembling a real job. I beleive they robbed an aquantance of several thousand dollars worth of valuables. It really isn't that hard to come up with tens of thousands of dollars if you can get away with armed robbery.First, it would have been nice to find out how McVeigh and Nichols paid for their weapons, ammonium nitrate, rental trucks, etc when neither had anything resembling a real job. Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.
