Xenosaga: Kosmos wakes up.
Threads of Fate: PINTO.
SDN Rangers: Gunnery Officer

Oh, I forgot one. In Summoner, the main character has been captured and thrown into a cell to rot, without his right hand which he lost due to treason of one of his most trusted friends who turned out to be in fact a hellspawn from the past. After one of his friends sneaks intp the prison to rescue him, they journey to a magical pool that can supposedly heal even the gravest of wounds...after fighting my way through perilous caves full of monsters, submergin my hand into the pool and making my way onto the surface, to see rebels getting ready to fight the tyrant emperor, I grinned and pulled out my two-handed katana for the first time since loosing my hand.

It was PAYBACK TIME. Man, it felt good to charge screaming against those fuckers :)

Also, in Call Of Duty, the charge onto the Red Square in Stalingrad. I actually yelled out when the comisaars blew that goddamned whistle, knowing that charge was completely suicidal...

"This is the Kiith Somtaaw warship Kuun-Lan
So, the miners have become warriors?"

<Firing Siege Cannon on Beast mothership> "BURN!"

The opening scene from Homeworld, the theme, the cinematics...beautiful.

Realizing that the final mission of Homeworld 2 /finally/ snuck the T-MAT ships into the game...and then goin 'aw crap' as I realized that music that evil couldn't bode well.

FFVII, I'd gotten Omnislash very, very early. First time I /ever/ used it, I'd gotten my Limit Break built up right before Sephiroth killed Aeris. He tosses Jenova at me...and Jenova meets an Omnislash to the face. No FF asskicking has ever, EVER been so well-timed. Ever.

The CG from Warcraft 3 of Arthas killing his father. SO awesomely cinematic, especially the belltower scene.

Total Annihilation: I'm locked into a death struggle with my opponent. We keep sending our forces smashing into each other, and we daren't do anything else lest the other have a clear path to each other's base.

We each had a little extra. He was putting it into a strong defensive perimeter, and I placed it into a Krogoth and nuke silo. We smashed each others armies for the better part of an hour... each wave of battle occurring closer to his base. 8)

I hit the brick wall that was his defense perimeter, and after a few abortive attempts to breach it, simply marshaled my forces and finished up that Krogoth.

Cracking his base and levelling it from the inside out... incredible.

Homeworld: I just found this old recording I had. It definatly qualifies here.

I'm playing two hard A.I's for the fist time. It's set for large bounties.

I start out right between them. Just as I get my first 20 scouts out, a enemy fighter group shows up. I destroy it easily. But then another shows up. And another after that. I end up having to play the defensive for the next 15-20 minutes.

It's at that time I know I'm about to lose. My mothership has about 20% life left and it's still geting pounded on by a large number of cap ships. But it was at that time my carrier, my last chance at winning that game, is finished. I immediately order my mothership to scuttle herself and for my carrier and all my remaining cap ships to hyperspace as far away as they can. But this takes up all my resources and the area they hyper too had no asteriods even near it.

So there I am, with only a carrier, a destroyer and about 4 frigates and no resouces. The only thing I can do is wait to be destroyed. But the A.I's, instead of sending their fleet to ass-rape me, instead keeps on sending these little battle groups consisting of a few frigates, a smattering of fighters and a destroyer thrown in here and there. They're just small enough for me to destroy and the resources I get from that are enough to replace my losses.

After a while of this, I managed to save up enough resource to create a battle group of my own. Mostly Ions but I also threw in 3 cloak generators, allowing me to have a constant cloak. I send it to the closest enemy mothership. When I get there, there's only 5 scouts protecting it. So I ordered my Ions to destroy that bitch.

Boom! One down, one to go.

I send my fleet to the second carrier, and find it's not much better defended than the first. Smiling, I ordered my fleet to concentrate fire on the bitchship.

A minute later and boom! Gone, I come from behind to win the game.

It was my most satisfying win I've had playing that game.

Playing some of the Ground Control 2 beta:

2V2V2 on a forest map, me and a friend holding up near our base, setting up a 2-player task force, when I spot a massive battle near by, we set up our units quick, and catch them both in a massive flank attack supported by dozens of artilerary.

Had to be seen to be understood.

usually in multiplay games when someone see's my dreaded layered choke point defense, and then watches as I perform team nomad....

(Methodically scout and sieze group), usually doing nothing but finding things and scouting special structures.... also noted is my von-clauswitz (it's all about supply) policy of making resouce control absolute...

Hrm...

X-wing: Achieving a mine-racing time of less than 7 minutes.

TIE Fighter: Flying with Vader, the inner circle cutscenes, Thrawn cutscenes.

X-wing Alliance: Dropping out of hyperspace directly in the path of a hail of turbolasers (that'll get your adrenaline pumping right quick), taking down Star Destroyers solo in X-wings

KOTOR: The big plot twist. Only time where I've ever said, "Hooooooleeeeeee shit" while playing a game when it didn't relate to the difficulty of something.

All I can think of at the moment.

Max Payne The running firefight inside the choir communications parking garage. When I got Max to the ground floor, and cornered and killed BB, the fight was over with the same suddeness it had began with.
I remember just slowly turning Max around and surveying the carnage The burning car, the dead Mercenaries, the hundreds of spent pistol and rifle cases on the floor and letting out a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding in and thinking fuck me.
I felt like putting a bullet between the eyes of every Panda that wouldn't screw to save its species.

Yup. It's during the Rainbow Shell subquest near the end. After you've retrieved the shell in 600 AD, go to Guardia Castle, 1000 AD with Crono, Ayla, and Marle in your party. Go get the Rainbow Shell in the basement (you know what you're doing, I'm sure), and after Marle reads the note from Leene, Ayla says something bizarre about growing up and leaving the nest, then cops a feel on Marle and tells her she isn't big enough to leave the nest yet. It's worth playing through the game again on New Game+ to see.

Oh yeah...that's right...Heh.

Wind Waker. Seeing the vast ocean before you, with water in all directions, and the sun moving over head...

Super Metroid. Walking into Kraid's chamber, and then seeing this huge beast rise out of the floor...the first time I played it I was like, "Holy shit! What the fuck is that?"

Again, Super Metroid. The death of Ridley. Considering how badass Ridley was in that game, defeating him is a major accomplishment.

One moment I forgot, but just replayed...

Skies of Arcadia Legends.

Getting the Delphinus. The whole buildup to that. The destruction of a city, being captured, escaping from prison five minutes before Prince Enrique would have freed you anyway, and causing general havoc in the Valuan Grand Fortess. Having Enrique donate his royal flagship to you and finally when you escape with the mother of all battleships, in the game, Enrique casually remarks that he forgot to metion that the ship is armed with a Moon Stone Cannon. A weapon with firepower equal to the continent destroying Gigas monsters from the game and then suggests you try it out on the until then completely impenetrable Grand Fortress Wall. With one shot a battleship sized hole is made and you fly through unopposed. Just the feeling of power that ship radiates... Beautiful.

The story is simple, the clichés are plentiful, but the excecution is perfect.

The first time beating Control in Goldeneye on 00 Agent. Jesus H. Christ, but it was so ridiculously easy to get Natalya killed on that one.

Caverns ranks up there as well, for its sheer length and difficulty right at the end (when groups of 3 troops armed with Auto Shotguns and RCP-90s suddenly begin teleporting in at your ass).

Oh, and the first time beating Mario 64. When the entire platform collapses into the shape of a star, and it became much, much more difficult to swing Bowser into that last bomb.

And how about finally getting that one damn Small Key in OoT's Water Temple, allowing me to encounter Dark Link?

The cutscene in FFIX where Vivi blasts the third Black Waltz. I have never seen a more awsome bit of CG.

Frog vs. Magus one-on-one fight in Chrono Trigger. As satisfying as I expect killing Beatrix in FFIX would've been if the bitch hadn't switched sides and joined you.

Aeris dying.

Cloud beating the living shit out of Sephiroth with his final limit break, which I was too lazy to get the first time I played the game.

Doomsday Zone in Sonic 3 and Knuckles. That set the standard for final boss fights in the Sonic games.

EDIT: forgot a few.

Somebody mentioned the intro movie for RA2, and I must agree. The Allied victory movie is good, too.

Tiberian Sun Firestorm.
Slavik: You serve Nod CABAL. I AM NOD!
