A Good Licensed Game?!?!?!?
WOW, that's all I have to say. I guess Vin Diesel wasn't kidding when he said he'd hold the games done under his licenses to high standards. This may be the first licensed game I pay full price for.

It isn't that suprising. The trend to make good games from movies, including getting the actors to contribute, has been going on for at least a couple of years. First I can remember was Spider-man.
Hulk was pretty fun too. Enter the Matrix seems like it tried, but ended up sucking.
This seems like the next step.
Edit: Why is it that much of the info for the game says that Chronicles of Riddick is a prequel? Seems odd since it's pretty clearly a sequel. Guess they're using really really outdated information. Not this one though, but in interviews.

Good games sure, but when was the last great licensed game you remember? Gamespot doesn't give out 9.3's lightly you know.neoolong wrote:It isn't that suprising. "Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Nope. It's a prequel. By all accounts, you actually get the "Eyeshine" (Riddick's funky eyes) early in the game. Why is it that much of the info for the game says that Chronicles of Riddick is a prequel? Seems odd since it's pretty clearly a sequel.
EDIT: If it helps, the MOVIE that's coming out is a sequel. The game, which does NOT follow the story of either movie, is the prequel.

What I said was that info I have seen says Chronicles of Riddick, the movie, is a prequel. I know it's a sequel.SPOOFE wrote:Nope. It's a prequel. I think the confusion is because there was a rumor that the movie may have been a prequel, but that was completely unfounded. Evidence:neoolong wrote:What I said was that info I have seen says Chronicles of Riddick, the movie, is a prequel. I know it's a sequel.
I know the game is a prequel.
However, the movie is assuredly a sequel, since it's supposed to take place 5 years after the events in Pitch Black.Yahoo Movies wrote:Chalk this up as straight "rumor", but a Dark Horizons scooper claims this will be a prequel showing how Diesel's character, Riddick (which would be the title), got to be on the ship in the first film, possibly with Cole Hauser returning near the end.
On topic, that game looks awesome, definitely gonna have to get that. Multiplayer would have been a sweet plus, though.

That's SW though, SW is sort of the exception to the licensed games rules in that it usually produces at least one or two good games every year or so.SirNitram wrote:KOTOR.The Kernel wrote:Good games sure, but when was the last great licensed game you remember? I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
